You are getting faster and faster each new timetrial on you first tests, first it were only just golds, nowadays you run sub 2% on your first laps, realy big progression buddy, hats off! ( how do you say that in french? Tomber le chapeau? Instead of la chemise? 🤣)

Well done!
Thanks a lot my dear Jomar !!!!
I'm trying to do as much as possible from my first day of testing because I unfortunately only have time to play once a week (or even 2 days). I'm in the period of the year where I have a lot of work until October.
So it's hard to improve the time obtained from the first day.

Managed to get a ok time at the Bullring today in the Aston V12!!

Man, they've been on a roll with terrible time trial combos lately. First it was the Gr.1 Alpine VGT at Catalunya, then the Z34 at Alsace and now this, Gr.3 at Red Bull Ring, which is a track I absolutely despise and to make it worse, it's in Gr.3 cars once again. I was considering to skip this one but it was going to bug me not setting a time so I did it to get it over with and this is my first session result, 1:29.196. I was surprised to see the Lancer Evo Gr.3 being the meta car here given that it's a car that never gets used so that was at least somewhat interesting. I did also set a time for the AMG GT3 one make time trial yesterday but my time is nothing special hence why I haven't shared it but it can be improved so I'll probably give that another session tomorrow and then proceed to never touch it again because I am tired of driving grouped cars, the fact that they gave us two Gr.3 time trials after already giving us one at Tokyo is downright ridiculous.

Thats quite a sharp time you threw in there bud, well done ( for something you don't like 😁) ,

Me....on the other hand....I sort of like it, but can't seem to get T1 and the exit of T4 right, I loose loads of time on Chafe there.
T5 feels weird and slow too, I don't like the fact that it's GR3 again, but surprisingly like the grip level this time 😁

Not the fastest but not to slow either 🤣

Not happy with the first part of the lap at all (and I never am here), but everything (after, but not including) Tertre Rouge is all okay as far as my lap times go.

Very happy with the 'overall' laptime though!
Even better now. Back from 9 days holiday and instantly managed to shave 6 tenths off! The power of vitamin D I guess?!

Suppose now I have to aim for something in the 3.08s!

"Despise this track"

Lays down a 29.1
Lol, I mean I never said I was not good on this track, I just do not like driving on it and I don't like the track in general. It's one of the most common tracks used for Gr.3 cars which is another reason why I wasn't thrilled to see it.

My approach is to just set the best I can so that I don't have to come back when it comes to combos I don't like. However I think I may need to do another session for Red Bull Ring as there was room for a .0 and I'm not sure if my time will stay top 100 till the end.

I got the same approach though...,
Only a bit slower 🤣🤣

P.S. - Hats off to Polyphony Digital for providing TTs with the best tyres (Racing) because that's when You can concentrate just on pushing the car to it's limit. When on Sports tyres, it's more about who can control the slide & braking more than just pushing the car to its absolute limit.
Ehh... I don’t agree.

A race car will always be on RH/RM/RS, that’s not a suprise choice, lol. Throwing RS tyres on road cars can make them feel pretty weird because they’re too grippy. SM/SS feels more right natural for road and sports cars. Good braking and car control are always important parameters, even in race cars on RS.

I agree with this 100%

What makes road cars so much fun is managing the performance vs brakes vs grip and too much grip conversely is a bad thing.

In a race car being as stable as possible it aim, in a road car being as fluid as possible is the aim.

I tried to tackle Lemans again and watched a few top leadeboard guys replays and almost managed to get a 3:12 lap time but it got invalidated which can be annoying on this track, which sucks but hey this is my time so far, gotta keep chugging!

Found a tiny bit more time. Had an opt of 46.9 last night that I can't find today. I'm noticing fewer top drivers sharing replays now as they're catching onto the competition šŸ˜…. Kinda sucks for me as I set this time following Gallo's time and he's now improved and hidden his replay.

I'm betting that someone will find a 46.3 and the top 24 will be sub 46.5 by the end of it.

Really makes me wonder how much more I could do if I was on a proper wheel. I find myself guessing on almost every corner with my G29.

Happy Father’s Day to those it applies to! Long session this morning at Le Mans (with the last laps of the real race on in the background). Picked up a tenth quite quickly, but the next goodness knows how many laps/restarts were quite frustrating- Tetre Rouge and Mulsanne were consistent problems, but if I got those right then the off-camber left at Maison Blanche or the Ford Chicane were there to trip me up. Threw away a 3:08.4 early on, and optimal splits suggest a 3:07 is on, but for now I’ve squeaked into a 3:08.6.

I managed to get my time down at Monza in the AMG with a 1:47.299 and even with this it's still not top 100 which I guess makes sense because this is the kind of time trial where the leaderboards are very competitive and people with a wheel who are also around my pace, are much faster overall than controller users like me. I think race cars just in general are better to use on a wheel than a controller so therefore I am not expecting any high results from myself in this time trial. I would have probably push this more but like I said in my other post, I'm tired of the group cars so I'm probably going to leave this here, besides even if I do improve, I won't stay in the top 100 till the end so there is no point. I will give the dreadful Red Bull Ring one more session tomorrow and see how much I can lower my time on that and then after that no more time trials until Thursday and I pray they give us a good combo this time.

Keep on pushing! My first time with the GR010 was a 3:16.171 and I got first into a decent silver, then after quite a few laps I managed a 3:11.258 - which I hope remains a gold time (I know that e.g. when turning into Tetre Rouge I lost 3-5 tenths on this lap, so there's some time to be gained but I know that it would take quite some time to get warmed up again to do 3:11s). If I can reach it, then most people should be able to do it, fingers crossed you'll slip into gold!

Did some trialling over the weekend since there are 3 going at once now. Unfortunately for me, they are all race car related which means I will struggle to get into the top 100 with any of these.

Starting with Gr1 at Le Mans, this was really causing me problems. For some reason, the Toyota feels like it has no turn in, I was frequently finding myself missing apexes altogether because the car didn't turn in as I expected it to. Also the snap oversteer on the exit of low speed corners is a real killer, particularly on the exit of Dunlop, Indianapolis, Arnage and the Ford Chicane. The amount of time I'm losing through S1 and the Ford Chicane is monumental, probably 2 seconds just in those spots alone, I'm not able to get the car to rotate quickly enough to keep up with the ghost which means I have to take the corners slower, and creates the spiral of death thanks to the downforce these cars generate, without the corner speed, there's less grip, which means less corner speed etc etc.

Might have one my attempt here before it ends, but not expecting to gain too much time.

Next up is the very bland combo of Gr3 at Redbull Ring. Not sure I really understand PD's obsession with Redbull Ring considering it is a track limits hellscape, but anyway, 2 million credits is 2 million credits. At least this time we get to try a different car in the Evo (and I'm not going to say no to driving an Evo). Pretty happy with this time, definitely some more on the board if I feel inclined to come back, but most likely I will leave this trial as it is.

Hi speedlovers,

on Friday i did the weekly races and did the RBR TT. Not very entertaining i have to say. I never felt any love for this track. I think it's the lack of rythm, i'd call it. It feels just a like collection of odd turns. I just drove until i had a time that should be safe:
RBR_Gran Turismoā„¢ 7_20250613174934.jpg

Saturday and Sunday was a all about Le Mans ā¤ļø
I either watched the 24h race or did lap the track for the TT. Basicly i had 3 goals:
  • beating that damned 3:10 - check
  • beating @LANDO again - check (sorry mate, looks like you have to fire up your Toyota again :D
  • do one perfect lap - almost did that

On saturday i found time in almost every major turn of the track and managed a first 3:09 lap. Sunday morning i did a 3:09,766, but the following lap was even much faster! Until i've reached the final sector, where i became so afraid to ruin that lap. Of course this is what happend, i lost almost half a second :banghead:
Otherwise i could have done a 3:09,149

In the afternoon i did my best lap so far

I'm feeling a bit torn about that. On one hand, 8 or 9 das before i didn't dare to dream of a 3:09,6. On the other hand, there lies so much time in my best sectors, that even a 3:08 might be possible [EDIT: I've just calculated my opt. time from screenshots i took and that shows a 3:08,753 😲]. But nailing all those best sector times in a single lap seems to be what seperates me from a good driver.

After my sensational decision to quit ACC league racing with RaceOnOz, I had a crack at this time trial in the Mitsubishi. It's surprising how much you can get away with here and I'm not really used to it. Going through the first corner without the car bouncing around like a frog in a sock and spinning is strange. A 29 is on the cards if I can just get a few little things cleaned up.
