I think as a warm hatch it is utterly excellent. Very similar to the panda 100hp.

My thoughts on the combo are positive, though it’s not perfect it’s absolutely fun.
if they would put the effort and do a setup with a more aggressive front diff and stiffer suspension and about 30% power this could be a perfect TT, but its pd...and a story for another time

Then it wouldn’t be road car stock warm ring based hatch?

I get the whole tuning thing but to be fair they are some of the least participated in events and even if the numbers are high the relative performance is mediocre.

I personally feel in a Time Trial, using the same machinery makes the most sense, because it becomes about driving style not power 👍

This Nurburgring TT is what GT is all about! Cute, good handling, little hatch on an amazing track... it's the best. And they went for SM tires this time!

Only 4 laps in so far and got to a decent time. Right on the heels of my lap doppleganger @330_D and second on my leaderboard, which I'm very satisfied with. He's a quick boy. Still a lot of time out there as always, but I thought I would be much slower with how sloppy the lap felt. I'm definitely looking forward to knocking a few more seconds off this one.

My first three laps were in the high 8:20s, but all invalid for the stupidest reasons (clipping off too much into Adenaur, hitting the barrier right before the finish line, and running wide into the gravel in YT corner). After those lame attempts I took a look at the fastest lap and learned some things:

Never use third gear
Eat curbs like your wheels don't care
Shift at 6K

And with those things in mind, one lap more got me an 8:24.530. Chuffed.

Here's the replay...

Stoked on this one, that I have actual time to put into it, and I'm looking forward to smoothing things out a bit. There are more than a few people here I need to try to catch up to! GTP get's faster by the day!

As always, keep it rubber side down, and happy lapping!

I did not say tuning should be allowed. It is good as it is. I'd just simply prefer TT's more with a slightly tweeked up suspension/diff sometimes coming from PD. Tuning still locked.

Regarding the gearing, this is what I noticed when seeing @Tidgney 's lap guide. He was mostly all the time on 4th gear in the medium corners & would rarely do shift to 3rd when a tight turn like the Carousel.

Taking advantage of the kerbs is so satisfying this car. I feel who can master this can have or has the best time overall. So many times I've just had 1 tyre on the kerb whereas other 3 on the Grass or pavement but the car won't get nervous.

This TT is surely worth a daily play because having Nurburgring TT is like a dream coming true for myself. Still feel there were many other road cars apart from the Swift that would've made this TT even more special. For eg; any of the Nissan Silvia cars.

Morning folks,

Couldn't wait to go for a tv session instead of the remote connection shenanigan...it's has not been that steady lately..
So fired up the Swift, got some clean oil and went for yeeting the thing...
Altho it's kind of slow it's definitely not easy to get it around the ring without error... it's very predictable but you have to be on point with breakpoints or you loose somuch exit speed...

Fun but very frustrating, I had 2 laps 0.5 second up on my fastest last split end of the straight but licked Barry on the way to the finishline....PB lap was kind of close to

licky licky....

But in the end still a descent laptime... although I looked back the replay and seems like a very unstable lap with a lot of faulty lines and mist apexes....

Good enough for now and now going to enjoy the little heatwave in the Netherlands 😁, replay saved under "Swift " btw for the once that are interested.

Adios

( story continues but keep getting parsing failure by uploaden a picture? )
I understand Your mild frustration Mate. Yesterday when I was playing this TT, my optimal lap was about 3 seconds faster than my PB.....:banghead:

The biggest surprise is the SM tyres which give as much grip as a Racing tyre. This getting helped by the fact due to the weight of the Swift. Had it been a bigger car, the SM tyres wouldn't hold any value.

True! tires do handle quite well on this little thing and from my side definitely user error 🤣🤣, but I love the fact that it rotates so easy on lifting, that realy helps......if you do it at the right point 🤣
Just keep lapping mate and you will keep enting time away!

Hi Guys.

Its been a minute.. work and life has just been crazy lately. I lost motivation to run hotlaps as none of the recent combos grabbed my attention. Few laps, get the gold and run. That's been me of late.

But you have to love the Green Hell and this combo does it for me. I will definitely try to make the time to reach my optimals.

Happy hunting folks and stay fast!

Hello everyone,

2 golden TTs at the same time, I've already had, but 3 never......too happy again......😎😂😂

well, if you look at the times, it's just gone by, I'll certainly have to go back, to the RBR and Monza, but I think the photo is very pretty. ...😂😂😂

for you aliens, it's common, but for us normal people it's a pleasure when it happens.....

well, the problem is that it's not the right account,
I'll have to start again on the one where I want to reach 50 gold medals......pfffff.......😂😂😂😂:gtpflag:

After having driven close to 300km on this majestic track, I was able to make progress from my previous PB of 8:31:012. As always, today was studying @Tidgney 's lap guide. There are some tricky corners where attention to detail has to be given.

My new PB after running many laps (valid & invalidated) is 8:25:909 which currently puts me on 665th ranking. My optimal is 8:24:144 which would've put me on 300th+ ranking.

I started my first few laps on A/T as it's important to come in the rhythm. Even though it's a 8 minute+ lap, getting into the rhythm is vital. I then switched to M/T which really gives more control. A/T many a times makes the Swift go into 3rd gear which is a strict No but with M/T that can be negated by staying on 4th gear.

There are stiil some turns which I need to ace & hoping in the coming days I can reach close to my optimal. What a fun TT. Wish it could last longer than the typical 2 week time frame.

Seeing myself in 665th ranking is more of a shock than a surprise which is why I've got a couple of questions for one & all:

  • How can I see/know/verify how many users as of now have taken part/posted a fastest lap in the Nurburgring TT?
  • How can I verify who is the highest ranked controller user in the Nurburgring TT standings?

P.S. - I feel it's pure bliss for wheel users to drive around in this TT. Not only does the car have great grip but because so many kerbs here can be used for maximum time gain, a wheel user can find it so satisfying with smooth inputs.

The only way ingame is to do a veeeerrry slow lap and check your placement at the very end
How can I verify who is the highest ranked controller user in the Nurburgring TT standings?
Not ingame as far as I'm aware, but there are 3rd party websites that scrape the TT data and where users themselves have to provide that information, so it will always be incomplete. dg-edge has both these infos: https://www.dg-edge.com/events/time-trials/344
