That was me as well and I was gaining momentum as I went. Catching a really fast ghost with a .3 offset feels awesome... We are some savages in here. For real. @Dan_Tes is gonna show up at the end and wipe the floor though. 😁🙃👾👾
No doubt. I'm looking to join you, @Gomario JSP & @Barareklam in the 22's soon. Threw a couple of opportunities away for that mid-lap before pulling these two laps together. Clearly it's on and I know where I made the mistake on this lap when I ran wide in the tight left at Adenauer Forst (this is where I dropped 0.34 to my prior lap in sector 5 on the splits below). Have seen a couple of sub-51 first sectors as well, so there is definitely time on the table. Such a fun event for me though

First lap in the Suzuki @ Nordschleife: +3,01%
Great, now i have to wait for times to settle and go again. :ouch::lol:
Did two valid laps today.

The old 3,01% was something in the 8:33 range.
First valid lap today: 8:32,8
Second valid lap: 8:31,5 or something
2,7%
Gold could stick... or not.

A year or two ago i wouldn't think gold at the Nürburgring was possible for me (even if it's just in the Suzuki on SM tires).

Using my casual time to casually do offline TT, Historic Cup (580 PP) and European Clubman Cup at the ring helped me a bit.

The only way ingame is to do a veeeerrry slow lap and check your placement at the very end

Not ingame as far as I'm aware, but there are 3rd party websites that scrape the TT data and where users themselves have to provide that information, so it will always be incomplete. dg-edge has both these infos: https://www.dg-edge.com/events/time-trials/344
"Total players 52264"

This, and you can also check GT7 Sport official website, click into the Nürburgring time trial, and go to the last page of the rankings. Just checked and someone’s got a 37 minute lap! Scenic route for sure.

Haven't been on here in a while. I think this is the first time I'm taking part in one of those TTs at the Nurburgring. Normally I don't even try but I decided to give it go this time around. After a dozen or so laps, I managed to clock in a 8.31.9xx. needless to say, I'm quite happy with that especially since I generally just leisurely drive that track with a variety of cars and never really attack it since I did the CE. Don't know if I'll have time again to get back at it cause that on is really fun. If I do, my target will be sub 8.30....if not, well hopefully my time will hold.

Two more laps. A 8:30,9 and then a 8:29,7 = +2,4%.
That's it for me. This should stick and I'm going on vacation tomorrow happily. Have a great week!

This time trial was a surprise (in a good way) I absolutely love the Nordschleife however the car choice is very questionable. If they were going for the Suzuki Swift they should have done a much smaller track due to how slow this car is, driving it here feels like slow motion and the lap feels like it drags on forever. But anyway not a huge deal, clocking in a time of 8:21.042 which is from my second session (today). Yesterdays session was a .6 so just over half a second improvement from yesterday. I can 100% manage a sub 21 lap so I will probably try again tomorrow.

Suddenly, a wild Dan_Tes appears!

watching the 24h of Nürb and doing stints as breaks is just a perfect saturday, still have maybe .3-4 in it but to find it is asking for my soul 😅

Same, I’m watching the Jimmy Broadbent stream; it’s his stint currently and it’s very cathartic to listen to in the background! Amazing to see him and Steve actually racing in such an incredible event, just shows how possible chasing your dreams are in the digital age..

Well fellas I was taking some time off as I have quite a few injuries that playing gran Turismo aggravates along with catching covid…but I saw Nurburgring and I saw Suzuki swift and I saw sports medium tyres (there is a god!!) so I had to have a go

This is fun as hell. What a car.

Wicked. As usual. I always think I'm doing well until you and @Metalgear9493 show up on my board. Get well buddy, you'll be back in the teens again soon!

Into nose-bleed territory now after another 4-lap session while I’m (literally) waiting for paint to dry. If I go no faster, I can live with this time. Not sure I’ve ever been in the top 100 before, and I know this won’t hold, but it’ll be fun for the few hours while it does. Don’t think I’ll be catching Dan or Blip, but it’s such a fun event I’m going to keep trying.

This is a conflicting event.
I don't like FWD cars, for a simple reason I am just so slow with them, don't know why exactly, probably because of my peculiar input style.
And I love the Nordschleife, not that I am particularly fast at it, but it's GT4 origin strange fascination that lasts to this day.

I was weighing the pros and cons for a day or two, but it was ultimately sure I need to try it.

The Suzuki with those tires isn't half bad, it's quite okay actually, but still enhances my weaknesses, to a lesser extent maybe...
Gold seems pretty safe (gold at Nordschleife is always a feat), but I feel I'm still under par here.
It is sure I need to learn how to properly use manual transmission on this occasion.

I have not had a ton of runs on the Nurburgring so I thought I'd try and chase gold by running clusters of sectors. Right now I am about 4.5 seconds off the leader's pace after sector 3. My plan was to keep running sectors 1-3 until I get to about 3 seconds, but then I realized that probably doesn't make the best use of my time.

As long as I am in practice mode, I might as well run sectors 1 to 5 now (many times), with the assumption that I can cut time off sectors 4 and 5, but also knock a second and a half off sectors 1-3 in the process just from familiarity and being more aggressive.

Any suggestions on otherwise trying to get the time down most efficiently?

8:29.8 for me for now, i don't know if i must change to sixth gear in the last straight or just keep it on fifth to help the climb.
Go for 6th as You're about to touch 180km/h because 6th gear will take Your speed to 197km/h whereas if You stick in 5th gear, You'll touch maximum 192km/h which will result in a few tenths loss of time just in that stretch.

This amazing suggestion is there in @Tidgney 's lap guide video. 6th gear is real handy in a few sections only though.

I'm going to drive soooo many laps here!

Set the ghost settings to: reset ghost position, and drive full laps - unless you crash, then restart. You'll probably gain lots of time in a bunch of sectors with each new lap.

on this circuit that you love you are capable of much better my dear friend 💪💪💪💪

Today after finishing a few laps that were close but not better than my PB, I realised I wasn't able to find the rhythm today. There are days where You hit off soon & some days You just won't.

So I tried a different strategy then. Usually I keep driving lap after lap trying to chase my best time of the session but this wasn't working for me. So I restarted my session & kept the frame of mind that if I get too slow or invalidate the lap, I'll restart the session. Thus, it kind of killed a bit of my apprehension which we usually have when trying hard to go fast.

In the two restarts I made, I was able to better my PB which I achieved yesterday (1:25:909). I was mentally prepared to push hard but with the scope of mistakes not putting fear in me. Otherwise it's like You then drive for 5-8 minutes again to start a new lap which I didn't want to do.

Overall, I bettered my PB by about 2 tenths considering I wasn't in the right frame of mind to push today as yesterday.
