I tried a few laps of the Grand Valley TT & maybe it'll be just me who's feeling underwhelmed for some reason. I'll be going back to Nurburgring in a while as the risk Vs. reward is more satisfying. I know I can lower my PB much there + Nurburgring is like a perfect track to drive for sheer fun so will spend some more days here. It's very much worth it.
Not gonna lie I’m loving the GV one

For the people lapping a thousand laps in one session....🤣, just watched a part of Kie's live attempt, he keeps complaining about the front left getting to hot and did cooldown laps.... front left went to 96/97 and seems to give up for the final corner...

Just so you know 😁🤣🤣

Is this a joke, the tires are heating up 😯 did I miss something ?

Hi,

Found some time today for a couple of 10 lap session at Grand Valley - This is an absolute hoot! What a lovely combo' this is?

2 Sessions and wallop - Straight in there...

I think this one is going to get super spicy at the top end!

Happy lapping indeed.

Very best regards to all here.

Ian.

I find GV south is already quite addictive with almost any car, but the Lancia is just nuts! Crazy rotation and the grip on the RMs... what an awesome combo.

Time for a coffee break.

And a sub 1:12 is in the bag.

Cutting across the dirt in some places seems to be the key here as the track limits are very leniant. Also this car rotates more under acceleration than coasting and better under braking with least brake pressure applied or trailbraking.

No joke, his data shows a front left struggling after some laps at Grand Valley...
I don't know what to believe anymore 🤣🤣
I'm just the messenger 😁🤣🤣

Around 2 hours 12 minutes

confused now again, we did had this discussion before and some of fastest drivers claim one thing, tire temps are not having any effect in Time trials, while obviously Kie restarted after lap 4 to get cold tires...

so what do you ninjas who can actually tell (or measure and tell) ?? what do you belive, tire temp have or don't have impact in Time Trials ?

So i clearly missed something, how do you activate this telemetry ?
I think this is only possible thru some dashboard app on you Ipad or phone, so it's not ingame but can be live along-side.
Don't use it myself because i, only doing timetrials.... but now i am in doubt again,,..

Yeah, same here..... though we had this figured out by now...., Jeddah was very clear about it back in the days, it didn't affect anything, and i thing @Metalgear9493 did mentioned the same??

I don't know anymore 😂 ,

@Tidgney @Mistah_MCA what do you say, tire temp has effect in Time Trials or it has no effect in Time Trials ? Kie was obviously restarting just to get cool tire starts again.

Mmm… I’m going to give it a test now and see…

Have sometimes thought temps has an effect but quite subtle. The recent Laguna TT was the last one I remember.

The results for TT147 at Red Bull Ring in the Gr.3 are over here. I have updated the opening post with the index of all TTs and the second post with the community scoreboards. A reminder that each driver's results for every TT is in the Excel file attached to the latest results post.

Here are some interim statistics for TT148 at Nürburgring Nordschleife in the Suzuki Swift Sport '17.

But there would be no logic in having this setting and not being able to manage it or even see it during the game.
There is also no logic in time passing but staying the same - exactly the same shadows and light every lap, no matter how many you do. Just because data is being produced, does not mean it is being used by the physics engine.

My take on this (and I think this is supported by this video by @Tidgney): the way hot tyres affect driving is by being a main contributing factor to tyre wear. And since tyre wear is disabled for time trials, I believe there is zero measurable effect unless I am proven otherwise:

It's true you're right, they will be produced but perhaps only used in racing.

Because if it were used in TT, it would be displayed as in racing.

Man, seems like there's a new intern on PD's website team that's wreaking havoc today ;)

For reasons unknown, the new GV event now exists twice:

Which, in combination with the four-week AMG event and the just expired RBR one, makes for a record-breaking 5 events being displayed by the plugin :D

I'll clean that up later today.

I don't believe tyre temps have an effect, or at least if they do it's very minimal. My tyre temps today ranged on the front left from 61 to 98 and my laptimes remained consistent. In addition Mik and Josete both showed laps of qualifying practice for a daily and they both had 10+ laps from memory (I think mik had 50).

Example below hitting 99 actually, but idea remains. Last sector is only slow as I was taking wider lines to start the lap.

Soooo, my prediction fell through LOL - I still maintain that the Spa/Rote Sau or Spa/CSL (or E30 M3) would have been an awesome combo but alas it wasn't meant to happen with the new update... so I bagged the 1 million credits from RBR while wiping my tears, headed to the Legends dealer and consoled myself with the Delta and the Sauber C9, even if that meant prolonging the purchase of the F50. Then I went and tried the new TT. I'm not fond of Grand Valley Highway, in general. While I bought my PS3 back in 2010 with and for GT5 (plus as a Blu-Ray player) and I also have GT6, I'm not exactly well-versed in most original circuits (doesn't mean I am in the real ones but at least I have some ideas about the general directions :D ). I'm also a late starter with GT7 and PS5, never had GT Sport or PS4, even a later starter with the TTs, thus my first real meeting with Grand Valley was the TT with the S2000 there - and boy, it was a struggle. The tires were ****, I felt I was on ice and the track had zero flow, nothing made sense, barely scraped a bronze together - of course, up until the last few weeks that was the norm for me :)

Anyway, sorry for the long intro, did a few laps with the controller and gotta say, I'm positively surprised. The car is good, the track has some redeeming qualities, so this is definitely fun, way-way-way more fun than Gr3@RBR. I managed to get into the mid-bronze level, my optimal is about 4 tenths better than my current best and I'm absolutely sure that with the wheel I'm gonna be able to break into the silver territory. I hope I can do that without any guides but will see - goal is a strong silver now.

On a bit of a personal note, sorry for being off-topic for a moment: for me rally is Gr. A rally in the '90s when I went to high school and college. With that comes that the Delta is a legend for me and it's one of my all-time favorite rally cars alongside the first-gen Imprezas. In the early '90s, the Hungarian Rally Championship was dominated by the late Laszlo Ranga with a Delta Integrale. When the first Shell gas station opened in my hometown, they brought him and his car to the grand opening and I somehow talked to him for like 20-30 minutes, still surreal to believe it... Not sure about the year, but must have been around 1993 as we talked about another Hungarian rally legend (the late Attila Ferjancz) having some issues with his Escort RS Cosworth in their first year with the car.

And on that bombshell, let's get back to the TTs!!!

Do you think this is the same for Dailies QT as this week my first lap I can’t take the first 2 essess as fast as I can on subsequent laps when the tires are warmer (G70 at TM)?

Hello,
after about sixty kms, I'm in 1' 13.1xx....the gold isn't far off, but......

but it's so much fun (ah it's not the RBR..... 😂 ) that I have no doubt it will drop well below the current 12.996......

but this time, I'm going to enjoy going for a 12.7xx or 12.6xx which I think will be necessary....

good luck to everyone.....:cheers::gtpflag:
