Yeah looks like shortcut penalty is off, you might have that reset car option in the assist settings turned on?
Yeah seems that the first part of S2 is kind of save yeetable but the corner @Barareklam points out is a little tricky 😁
It seems sector 2 has different rules. What is getting me is the inconsistency of it. Sometimes I appear to cut more and go flying through. Other times, not so much and I’m reset. The last example of the three in the video is the most perplexing.

GT7 | Grand Valley South TT | Sector 2 keeps resetting me!

Predictably given the nature of the track, I just cannot get close to gold with the Lancia. I don't do well on the sort of apexless curvy tracks, I find Alsace a mystery and just cannot gel with Grand Valley. In saying that, it is probably the best of the GV layouts. I ran down to 1 second off gold and tbh no idea how to improve.
Like the Nurburgring with the Swift, 4th gear is your friend. Stay in 5th after first hairpin. 3rd gear for the tight left hand hairpin.

Resets aside, I think I redeemed myself 😁

That was fun! Thanks to @Gomario JSP For his YT lap run. I took a look at the gearing choices coming out of the corners and shaved a sizable chunk of time off. Thanks again.

Ah yes, I’ve heard people talk about these “tenths, they are like quantum particles” we spend magnitudes of money making the smallest things go fast! I’m an almost middle aged man how much would we have to spend to accelerate me! 🤣
I'm already middle-aged mate but I've tapped into the Higgs field recently to extract those final few tenths👌

Morning folks!

Started the weekend with some backpain and coffey and a Lancia this morning, great combination, and now I have sore hands too from absolutely yeeting that monster around the Valley...🤣

I think I ran around 10 PB's this morning and slowly won a few thousands at the time.

Sector 2 is absolutely fire with this thing and you can yeeet it like crazy due to complete abscence of any tracklimits 🤣🤣

Valid yeeeting

I got rather consistent In the end with the majority in the .2xx and .3xx

But finally had a few good sectors together

Quite happy with it cause I'm struggling a bit with the understeer, don't know if that's a pad thing.....it's probably just me 🤣🤣

And the ingame chase of Damian

Have a great weekend!

Try easing off the throttle slightly (really slightly, like 1%, when understeering to get a little bit of slip angle. The car rotates more with less boost pressure - so listen for the turbo hiss and you'll start noticing when this happens and how little you need to feather off throttle. Sometimes it's enough to create a few miliseconds of turbo lag. This helps me especially in T1 and exit of first chicane whe I go too wide or experience understeer.

Yeeeett !!

Man i love sector 2 🤣🤣
Still made some mistakes so a sub 11 is possible for me I guess.... sticking it all is quite hard!

And man.... how is everybody so fast at the top???

🙏🙏 glad I could help a tiny bit in some way, nice lap buddy! And a nice time 111444 😁🤣
I desperately wanten a 1.11.111 but didn't work out 🤣🤣

and....wow...that looks awesom in VR! Even the replay is immersive , well done!

That's great advice!, I'll try to look at that if my mind muscle connection wil leave me some room 🤣🤣🙏

Manage to secure Gold at the AMG TT yesterday, so I can jump over to Grand Valley and finally be in sync with y'all again. 😁

Lulz. The track resets for this GV TT are more jarring than actually hitting hard barriers. I pucker up on instinct knowing I'm about to collide...but, oh. I'm stationary in the middle of the track instead. 🤣

Also, a little random on what is and isn't allowed. I'm like, "oh, I can't do that? But the other off-white-line excursions are ok?"

But really fun combo tho, the miles and time fly by. 🙂

It seems that the main reset areas are in the sector 2/3 section near the tunnels I’ve found.

Only had one reset and it’s really disorientating in VR going from full acceleration in 3rd gear to being Star Trek transported!

The amount you can cut at the bottom of the hill is just a head messing 🤣

This is the first time I'm doing a Grand Valley TT in GT7, and I am HIGHLY distracted. Any fellow Californians by the coast in this thread will know why immediately...

Driving around for this TT is constantly making me reminisce about all the sport touring I've done on Hwy 1, on both two wheels and four. I've driven/ridden about 630 of its 656-mile coastline stretch in real life. Whereas Laguna Seca may be my in-game home circuit, Hwy 1 is practically my backyard. It's only 27 miles away from my office, and that pic above is from the middle of a weekday, when I took off early so a buddy and I can get some fresh ocean air. 😄

If any of you get a chance to ride/drive Hwy 1, you should. Its ribbon road makes for a fantastic recreational tour, only made dangerous by its never-ending drop-dead gorgeous vistas that want to steal your attention the whole time. I still vividly remember coming around hillsides and rockfaces, uttering "holy sh - " under my breath once the bends open up to the stunning ocean sceneries.

I remember when the game update introduced this circuit, I couldn't believe it. But at the same time...I could. GT is a driving game, after all. And Hwy 1 is a driver's road. 🙂

Now that's a fun one! Sheesh, the yeet in S2 take some accuracy. Been some explicit uses of language when the game decides to reset me too. I think I have that figured out now though.

In other news, I've been try-hard grinding the AMG TT as I refuse to accept I am not fast enough for D1 🙄. It is a lost cause... cognitively, I know this. But my ego, my ego keeps chuggin' away.

I don't know how you do it but when I am in same spot I get the red numbers....
That's strange, i think i can't even get a red number if i try there, you can almost hit the barrier on the left 😁
holy c*rap, you are comming in fast bud, ease up will ya, i don't have that much time for sessions this week 😂😂
Very nice job!

you bastard....... 😂😂

Didn’t manage to get the normal early Sunday morning run in as I was doing a real car thing instead, and went for a run along Ortega Highway through the San Juan Canyon. Which was nice!

Managed to grab some time this evening while the kids were out though, but it was hard going. 142 miles around the ‘Ring - 0.07s improvement 😫 I might be out of talent at this point

I dont remember to enjoy a TT as much as I did with the Swift at the nords.

Swift at the Nords.jpeg

Busy week for me ahead with no chance to sit at the rig until friday I believe, so I wont have a chance to improve on this time and what a shame being that close from top 100 for the first time 😭

Hello.....as Jéjé would say: last attempt on the Schleife......(before the next one.....)😉

I had just done an 8'30.0xx on another account and I said to myself: there's a way to do a 29 ....even a 29.9 but a 29 something....

and here I am in 29.0xx.....papy is happy.....😎😎😂😂

2 days to go.....if I could stay in the 5000s that would make me happy......
but I tell myself that......any 28 is possible....🤔🤔

oh dear: now I'm suffering from Jéjé syndrome......😂😂😘😘

I still have to learn how to post large photos and not thumbnails.....but I don't know where to find the tutto ...🤔🤔

Some fantastic performances here, I've had a couple of 30-minute sessions over the weekend at GV in the Delta, have wrestled about 5 tenths off but my laps are still real scruffy, the last turn still troubles me, more work to be done but diminishing returns I think from here on in

Wow, I'm really loving this new TT with the Lancia.
Before actually trying it, I was a bit disappointed that it isn't at Eiger Nordwand, but I think this is actually better.
Especially with the penalties disabled for cutting, that makes it perfect fun.
Not as fast as a lot of guys on here, but I only did some laps Friday morning before work.
Should be already save into gold territory.
tt-lancia.png

And, what I thought would never happen for me, now happened as well: my first gold time at the Nordschleife :)
tt-ns.png

Ok, granted, that one is really not that hard. A lot of tricky turns like Flugplatz, Schwedenkreuz and Mutkurve are easily flat out.
So it's just cruising around and trying to get a clean lap.
But man, that Swift is unexpectedly really fun to drive here around as well.

Lastly, also had a go at the AMG one.
Not sure if that one is going to last, probably not. And I don't think I can go any faster here.

But at the moment, everything is looking golden. Which is rare for me, woohoo :D

Go go go !!!!! You can do it my friend 💪💪💪

I was overjoyed when I did a 1:14.295 and reached silver, although I concluded already at that time that it's a shaky one. Sure enough, Friday evening the silver threshold was at 1:14.290. So, after watching @Tidgney's video (thank you!) and applying the red Martini livery from @KK78 I decided to give it another go. My previous optimal was 1:13.6, so a solid silver should be possible. I reached peak performance in the first lap, was sliding around like an idiot on ice, yet I did reach a solid silver by dropping 7 tenth and better than my previous optimal (screenshot taken today to account to be current):

IMG_1442.jpeg

As always, gold is near, not sure I can reach it though - but for sure I'm gonna try it, it's super fun to drive the Delta.
