It truly does, thank you. I feel so validated right now finally reading this from a legitimate alien 🤣View attachment 1468947
CSA on strong with weak ABS is my new favourite setup in GT7, works in any car lol.
AH_HAH! That explains my position above you!It truly does, thank you. I feel so validated right now finally reading this from a legitimate alien 🤣
Will be joining the fun probably tomorrow. For those of you seeing „crome“ on their leaderboards - that’s my brother visiting while I‘m sitting on the train home from a work trip … don’t feel too safe![]()
Is the CSA beneficial for wheel users too or just the controller?View attachment 1468947

It could be worse.Yay...Trial Mountain TT with a Gr.4 car having RH tyres. This will be loads of excitement.

Even more so. My unverified take is that CSA performs quick microcorrections that stabilise the car and would be hard to pull off on a wheel consistently, but next to impossible to pull off on a controller consistently given the very limited travel of the stick. Which is why I believe that some sort of CSA is baked into the controller scheme anyway, and hence activating it explicitly doesn't do much for a controller player. But it's very noticeable on a wheel. If you like it or not is another question - I do. In fact when I was still toggling between CSA on and off I often thought that CSA provided not only the less frustrating, but also the more realistic experience. These days I just don't turn it off anymore. Is the CSA beneficial for wheel users too or just the controller?
What is the main difference between ASM and CSA if you don't mind me asking?Even more so. Apart from this assist, sometimes TC1 is very helpful. One more detail to look into is the sensitivity option. Having the right amount of sensitivity matters which depends mainly on the car driven.Even more so. Really enjoyed this one this morning! Sorry its a bit later had to go into work this morning! Does mean only 1 ghost to unfortunately but still should be useful! All 3 laps are still included here though!

Yes to this. I've been on it for a while and it really helps the car feel like a car and less like a game. Ymmv but you two validate my thoughts. 👍👍🔥🔥It truly does, thank you. I feel so validated right now finally reading this from a legitimate alien 🤣

OK. To me though it kinda just sounds like the same thing. Like, if you are oversteering and about to lose the back end, ASM saves you in theory by countersteering and stabilizing the car. Doesn't that sound like just another way to say countersteer assistance?Official answer: (https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gt7/manual/drivingoption/03)
・Active Stability Management (ASM)
Active Stability Management (ASM) is intended to prevent your car from spinning out, and can be turned on or off. When turned on, it will sacrifice speed for an easier driving experience. It should be turned off if you are looking to severely shave some time off your record.
[ UNOFFICIAL EDIT: Unless you are at Spa in a HYUNDAI N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo ]
・Countersteering Assistance
Set the strength of the countersteering assistance feature, which automatically rights the car when it has oversteered and its rear end has swung out. At the 'Weak' setting, a certain amount of oversteer is permitted. At the 'Strong' setting, even a minimal amount of oversteer will activate the system, enabling a stable driving experience.
I think ASM does more than just oversteer control. CSA mostly (in my experience), works on traditional corner exit oversteer, i.e., you are less likely to spin out on exit if your right foot is too heavy.OK. Maybe a better way of phrasing that would be, is all CSA also ASM, while maybe all ASM isn't CSA?
OK yeah so then kinda what I was getting at. CSA seems to be the first step and then turning on ASM seems to be an even higher level of assist. Seems to me like CSA should in turn be on by default if you enable ASM, but yeah. I generally try to have no assists on other than maybe the occasional TC for weather or for grid starts, but I did use ASM for the Hyundai Spa TT since I saw it recommended so highly on here. Probably why I placed as high as I didI think ASM does more than just oversteer control. CSA mostly (in my experience), works on traditional corner exit oversteer, i.e., you are less likely to spin out on exit if your right foot is too heavy.
ASM prevents you from spinning out in any situation, not just corner exit. I do not know what it does, but expect it stops corner entry understeer, corner exit oversteer where relevant, corner exit understeer where relevant (probably its greatest benefit in the Spa VGT TT that finished this morning), probably limits body roll through corners, etc.
It was also very useful in the GTWS race in the wet/damp at Tokyo as well. That’s may makes me think it’s a sort of version of ESP/DSC etcThose are two examples that come to mind where it was beneficial, otherwise it’s not.
lol hey don't worry too much. I'm pretty happy if I get into the top 5000Lol I don't check in here enough but you all are so dang good at this game. I was ecstatic last night breaking into the top 1000 at Spa and then I see posts about you all saying "had a decent time, could probably lower my time a few tenths with a bit more work" and then you show your current time and you're already top 100 in the World![]()

Same. I generally look at a TT and if the top 5-7k are gold level times I feel good about my odds. I don't do them every week because often times I'll get sucked into playing any number of other story games on PS5/PSVR2 or Switch/Switch 2. Also dabbled in Forza Horizon 5 for a while after that dropped on PS5.lol hey don't worry too much. I'm pretty happy if I get into the top 5000
