Guess who's back, guys?? 😆
Hope y'all doing good around here, after a few months I finally felt the urge to return to GT7 and do some more Time Trialing.
But, first of all I have to get something off of my chest: I'm back but things will be slightly different for me this time around.
One of the main reasons why I decided to take a break from this, back in February, was because doing TT is a very nice challenge and a great way to improve your driving skills, but it also is a huge time-waster and can become quite exhausting too... and unfortunately it was, slowly but surely, starting to take over more and more of my free time and taking its toll on me, and I don't want that.
A big part of me just wanted to do as many TT as possible just for the credits, and of course, the faster you go and the more time you put into it, the better you get and higher medals (with better payouts) suddenly start to become more frequent... at the expense of your free time and well-being, which is never a good trade.
So, to prevent myself from falling into the same sinkhole again, this time I've set a few ground rules: first, I will only take part in Time Trials that I REALLY want to do, which more often than not translates into Time Trials with mid-to-low end road cars in small-medium size tracks.
Those are the kind of combos that I really enjoy the most, so that means I'll keep my distance from events with race cars and/or very lengthy tracks, which I don't like as much and usually they're much more demanding.
Of course, there might be some rare, occasional exceptions, like the ongoing Honda e-sports Time Trial where there's a chance to win a free car just for completing a lap around the track... which is what I did, after 3 laps I've secured myself a safe Bronze and that's it, works for me.
So, with that out of the way, it's time for my Time Trial comeback, and I couldn't think of a better way to do it than this:
I'm guessing this one is a very easy one... so easy that a clumsy driver like myself who's been away from the game for over 6 months can gold this in 10-ish laps!
Didn't have much time to prepare myself for this, just watched Tidgney's guide once and went out there to see what I could do.
Like I said before, this is MY kind of Time Trial, low-powered road cars on a tight track... the Clio fits and feels very well on this track, very controllable and fun to drive.
Of course, I could improve my time a little bit with some proper preparation, analyzing Tidgney's guide a bit more to refine my driving line which is kinda all over the place right now... but then again, I don't want to exhaust myself just to gain a few more tenths, unless my PB is suddenly at risk, which I doubt it'll ever be.
Gaining a few tenths won't change the final outcome, it's already a safe Gold imo... might just do another 10-15 laps session before the end of the event and put it to rest.
