Welp, made it into gold another 200km last night.
I continued going for another 200km which, with hindsight, was completely pointless as I never went faster than a 6.3XX after getting the 6.072.
This car is just exhausting to drive and I think it fried my brain to the point where I could no longer improve. Doing 200km and not getting even close to my best time caused quite a crash out. That's the closest my controller has been to getting launched out the window since GT7 came out.
You put your thoughts (which I share completely) to text just a little while before I do, it’s quite a funny phenomenon actually. We seem to attempt the TT’s at similar times/days, struggle and get annoyed in the same way (and be on controller ;-)).
Seems like we both prefer to wait until the end of the trial to do our laps and posts. On opposite sides of the globe and somehow sharing the same GT7 struggles, although you generally seem to do things a couple of tenths faster than me
I’ve shared those two 05 laps on my profile (tags #gtp #schlafhund #naxeht), hopefully a controller ghost could maybe be of assistance? I wish the very best of luck to you, really hope you can make it, man!
Thanks for sharing these, I was reviewing the replays prior to my laps. Wasn't able to load your ghost unfortunately, wasn't showing the replay next to your name on the leaderboard and I couldn't find an option to download the ghost anywhere. Typical Polyphony I guess.
Also thanks for the motivation! I know I can generally get within a tenth or 2 of your times, so knowing you had a sub 06 gave me the motivation to try and get close to that.
Although the lap itself was fast, I feel there's plenty of time on the table. I've definitely gone faster through S1, and I could've hit the apex for the turn 4 right hander a bit better. T5 & 6 were actually quite good which is probably where I made up a significant amount of time. Corkscrew was not too bad although I think the landing and exit could've been very slightly better. But then I completely missed the apexes of both Rainey curve and the penultimate corner, so I think there's probably quite a bit of time left on the table in those 2 corners.
Ultimately it didn't matter since I wasn't improving at all after this lap anyway, if anything I was getting slower.
All that is left is to wait and see if any aliens come in at the final hour to shift the gold time down. As I was setting my laps last night, the aliens actively were improving their times at the top, so the gold time has shifted since yesterday in case anyone didn't notice and was on the edge of gold.
