Just a Question!
I see peoples titles edited(eg mines just says Junior member)
how do you edit this?

You need to have over 3 months of membership before you can edit it,, or 600 posts me thinks. Or something like that.

I've noticed that someone changed his title to BANNED or something alike and he got a suspension / infraction / slap on the cheek (I really don't remember) - is it generally frowned upon to use the default titles or was ist just because it said BANNED? :)

Banned, along with certain other words, is a banned word in the user title field. The only way you can get banned in there is to be banned, or to use a another character that looks like a normal letter but isn't.

A member put banned in his title by using a funny b, that looked like a b but wasn't, that the filter didn't pick up. I banned him for a day as he obviously wanted to know what it felt like...

ßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßß, daan!

It's called "Scharfes S" (literal translation: sharp s) and is a special character, both loved and hated by all German speakers. Thanks for the clarification. :)

Yes, basically here's how it works:

ß = ss

So the word 'heiß' can also be spelled 'heiss.'

Sorry for the German lesson I just had to show the general population.

Yeah well, that's all been changed now and it isn't exactly like that in every case anymore - but yes, that's how it used to work.

Then again, German grammar is the worst horror I can imagine. :p
