Hmmm, just played the single player demo (V8 supercars, DTM) and I've got a few concerns. Firstly, the cars are too quick (cornering speed and top speeds are very unrealistic) and secondly the handling doesn't feel at all realistic (and yes, I've put the handling, damage and the other one on sim).

Have these been addressed in the final release? I'm considering getting this but not on the strength of the demo.

Lawnmowers? What?
Yep, theres ride on Lawmowers in the game, and you race them, Lawnmower racing, never seen it on obscure motorsports programmes?

Aparently you cant unlock the lawnmowers without the cheat. According to PSM anyway, how do you get access tho, ive enetered my details and now its asking for an access code, where do i obtain it? in the game ???

In the game you unlock the Honda races by either going to the honda website mentioned and theres a section of the site that will give you the code or something, or win the World tour mode, that will unlock the Honda races as well.

Yes, when you go to unlocking info in the bonus area, it should tell you a 4 digit code.

Thanks Ultrabeat, I had an incling that it would be somthing along them lines :)

Duno Live4speed i guess im just too eager to thrash the lawnmowers. :D

Cheers just done it :)

The truck racing is fun, and have you guys tried the monster trucks!!! You can wheelie them!

Yeah I tried Monster Trucks :scared: They are very tough to control, but a lot of fun! 👍

I absolutely love to race on Spa. I just did the 70s GT cup and now I'm taking a little break, since my hands burn because I turn the DFP quite fast.

Yeah the monsters are pretty cool :D This game has so much variety compared to GT4! I can't wait until i get to drive the F1 cars, i'm currently on about 29% i think.

29% already? Maybe I'm too used to the GT series and haven't played any previous TRD's. Anyways, I think I'm going home this weekend and I'll be picking the game up to play it all weekend. Can't wait!

He must have been hammering it to get to 29%. It's not a small game by any means. I think the WT mode racks your percent up a lot quicker than the Pro career mode though, because I think you get the same percentage for a championship win regardless of how long the championship is.

Have'nt played TRD2, so this is going to be a leap in Codemasters coding from race driver as the hardware's the same.

Anyone know about the Online ability yet?

Should make a review contribution by thursday, week of convoclosure.

RD2 was a huge leap in terms compared to the first game, im talkin tha ps2 version here brah.

The physics and graphics were terrible in the first RD game, the only redeemable thing about it was the 4 player split screen mode, which was serious laffo.

I was very impressed with RD2, but just when I was getting into it GT4 came out and me being a huge fanboi made me completely forget about RD2.

Also the online in RD2 was pretty good, well all I can remeber it was pretty decent.

Holy crap, this is the most realistic thing I've played yet.

In the cockpit view on a Super GT car, with a DFP on 900 degree setting, I felt like I was literally on the track. The sound was awesome, the handling was awesome, damage was awesome, couldn't ask for more. It has everything GT4 didn't have.

grapics seem WORSE in TRD3, than in 2, and even the TRD3 demo. I dont get it. Seems like more detail in the scene, yet, the jaggies and shimmering effects, I find distracting. I hope not too distracting, as everything else seems very good.

How is the AI in this version? They weren't that bad in the others, seemed like they wanted revenge if you wiped them out too.

Do they actually break for you if you're coming back onto the track in this one? Not just clout you and let all hell break loose?

I'm at 49% (that's continous play for yer, my hands ache) and I'm currently doing the HPDC australian touring car league (basically another version of V8 supercars, the one in the tier next to the 1970's GT cup) and it's extremely hard, probably not helped by the fact that I qualified in 17th :grumpy: and that Eastern Creek is a tight, narrow curcuit with a lot of tight hairpins. I hardly ever make it to the second corner as I tend to run other people's path and end up spinning, or the A.I runs into my path and I swerve to miss them and spin on the grass. :guilty:

The AI is one reason why the game is so spectacular, they block, pass, pass eachother, block eachother, and if you are just coming back onto the track, 95% of the time they break off and go round you at speed, the other 5% of the time is when you come back onto the track and theres a car already on the line you came on then that results in a pretty big crash. The AI also makes mistakes by themselves and can even bring out yellow flags, turn 1 of Oschersleben in the formula fords, one of them went too fast in the left kink and couldnt bring it back round for the right hander and went off. They even crash into eachother, the AI in this game is superb.

Theres some bonus championships that you unlock as you progress in pro career (not sure about world tour) and it seems that the bonus championships are just the normal championships with different circuits.

Loving it!

here's an awesome race for ya: BMW Williams F1 at.........BATHURST!!!!

oh and a tip: to unlock all the championships easily without cheating, do them in Pro Career, with 50% AI, 1-lap race, no penalties. Piece of cake! 👍

That's the beauty of this game. It's so customizable. You can make it as hard or easy as you want depending on what you want to do with it. You can adjust AI difficulty, number of laps, how sim you want the handling to be, etc.

Well, I never thought I'd get this game because I didn't really like the other 2. Guess what? I bought it. :p It's VERY good so far.

The first thing I noticed was the graphics. Much better than I thought. In the in-car view, the reflections are almost as good as in PRG3, and that's an Xbox 360 game. The marks that the tyres leave stay on the track, the smoke, and the trees even look good. It must be one of the best looking Xbox/PS2 games I've come across IMO.

The driving is pretty good. I can't say wether it's realistic or not because I haven't driven in real life before, but I'd say it's better than the other 2 TRD's, but still GT seems to get the cornering speed right. I just feel you still corner a little too fast. Other than this, it's great! The in-car view is great. You feel the bumps in the road and it strongly affects your driving. The sound is great. Crashing is great (when you're not in an intense race that is!)

The AI is pretty good. I just love the randomness of it. Sometimes they crash and make mistakes, sometimes they are very competitive and agressive (ie give you a little shove from behind). The only problem I've had with it is they do pull in front of your sharply occationaly, and sometimes even do the GT's trick of pushing you off the track when you are on a straight.

Overall, it ALMOST beats GT, better in some areas than others. If only all of TRD's and GT's features were put together, it would be killer...

i have 30% at the moment and the thing that annoys me is that the AI take me out by spinning me, and the penalties are given at stupid times. I late breaked on Hockenhiem and came of the circuit, came back on, penalty given! what for? i haden't got an advantage i also got one for the same reason but i wsa hit at the back and i got a black flag! this is really annoying sometimes, appart from that its a brillant game!

Just got my first taste of the V8 supercars! They feel nice and meaty, and the engines sound great too. About the percentage going up fast though, I was on 29% earlier and just after one race i am now on 39%! Weird huh?

One thing that i have learned is that you really do need to qualify so you end up at the front of the grid, as with 20 cars on the track sometimes it's very easy to crash into someone and lose a wheel. Ouch.

Yeah, the penalties can be quite harsh sometimes. You drive off the track by mistake, like late braking, and it gives you a penality for cutting a corner and gaining an advantage.

HAHAHA!! At the moment, in the British GT series, there is this car in front of me bouncing up and down. It's hilarious!

Racing on bathurst is just crazy.
Especially when you're in the middle of the field. :trouble:

I'm at 61% right now in world tour, Next race is the Ultima Can-Am!

What's your favorite tracks so far?
I would have to go with Bathurst, so much adrenaline trying to pass someone.
Spa is also very cool.

Well, I ordered it this morning after playing the multiplayer demo last night. Looking forward to it (the handling in the multiplayer demo seems quite a bit better than in the SP demo, and cornering speeds are down (though still quite unrealistic).

My favourite track so far would have to be Adelaide. It flows so beautifully, i really like it. Sadly i haven't got a chance to race Bathurst yet, but i really liked it in the previous game.
