You are both right.Online you don't see a black screen. You just drive through the pitlane and your car is fixed.Offline, you can select how much to repair.By sliding the bar all the way you will repair everything but it will take longer .If you choose only to repair the car partially you can do a pitstop in half the time required.
And no,body damage is not repaired although it has no real effect if you are driving with a rear wing or without so it doesn't matter. So visually your car is still a wreck.
yeah, that's exactly what I meant. 👍
I just got the Ps2 version. Here's a mini-review:
graphics: kind of lost in translation I would say. Less draw distance, more jaggies, blurrier textures, laughable particle effects, and less reflections. Generally, it's not bad because it retains the cool lighting and excellent car models from the PC and Xbox versions. Still runs smooth, but slows down a touch more.
gameplay: I haven't had a chance to test out the DFP yet, as I haven't received mine yet, but the handling is still great for the road racing. The rallying/rallycross/ice-racing are all a complete waste of time however, with WIERD physics and funky controls. The road racing is intense and exciting, and it feels like you're really accomplishing something when you work your way through the pack.
sound: pro logic II sounds good. The engines sound kind of "fuzzy" for a lack of a better word. Overall it gets the job done.
features: just as limited as the xbox version, but at least they didn't cut anything out like most companies do for ps2 ports.
online: impressive for ps2. Not as good as live, but it's free, so who can complain. It can jump a little once in a while, but generally it's pretty solid.
Overall: worth the purchase, even without the DFP.
