OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:

Yesterday saw TOCA's return to racing and it was considered a success. However concern was raised over the issue of ABS being forced off and the amount of incidents it could cause.

After a series of PM's with senior drivers and having heard other opinions, a decision has been reached to re-allow ABS at Level 1 from next week's race at Autumn Ring. This is optional, drivers are clear to race with no ABS if tehy wish.

Plato seems to have pushed Shedden into the middle of the road if you watch again. He pushes him for halve the straight and then pushes Shedden left

Main reason I don't like Plato - just plan rubbish at last laps. Always hits someone off when there's a podium available

Yeah, I don't really agree with that.

Ah well.

No ABS was just an excuse for the crashes. Nothing will change.
 
Whos the people who were against I say they shouldn't have signed up if they couldn't handle no ABS.

Agreed... Lets just get on with it.

And be at a disadvantage when someone does a stupid dive and gets away with it ..... No thanks.

Atleast when ABS was off they would miss the corner completely instead of just making it by using the other car as a buffer.
 
Hey, at least we're doing it now rather than 39398 races into the season, cant blame Furi at all for this one. :)

I don't blame Furi, he was pressured into it despite the fact no ABS was a great idea.

I blame the people who cry despite signing up for a no ABS race series.

But that would be the case without ABS. They'd just lock up and smash into you. :confused:
 
Argh got to make another setup and exams soon - little time left :/
 
End of the day the people who dive late are still going to do it reguardless of ABS on or off but they will not be punished when ABS is on the car that they dived at will.

But then penalties should be dealt out. In fact I'd say you're more likely to be punished for diving with ABS as you don't have the "I locked up excuse". :)

With ABS now allowed, I'd say high 1'19s to low 1'20s.

Well that didn't take long.
In the practice races, I was left not exactly happy with the way it looked (I'm not trying to be rude but some people choices in brake points and massive dive bombs left me wondering)
I still think ABS give GT5 some sort of stability control that is beyond ABS, and with ABS off it's closer to a sim offline.
Kind of sad to see ABS again but if it makes for cleaner races I'm all for it.
 
I highly doubt it will make for more cleaner races as the people who dive wont need to worry about locking up and will do it more often.. I see this as a very bad thing.

Also for me it takes away a big skill element, series I join with ABS on I know what to expect. (But in PURE we are very very strict on such maneuvers so they dont happen)

Edit: Trust me on this im a steward in PURE so ive seen these moves and we've banned people for it.
