I don't see why you are moaning now. Furi/Tom/Sumo didnt challenge for the wins at Cape. Nor have they blasted around the Autumn ring - so why complain? They may do better at HSR but there car should be good there. Your all moaning that the car that hasnt got into the top5 (i think) should be depowered? Why? The results from race1/2/3 have not supported these hypothesis. If the VW was overtaking everyone and winning from last then yes I would agree - but it hasnt.

If I was going to moan about any car it would be the Mazda - thats the car which seemed to walk the event last weekend. But it seems most of the guys moaning are the guys in the Mazda

The Mazda is even with most cars in the series, the reason the Mazda did so well is because the drivers got them to where they were...

The Scirocco is too fast. Simple as that. Once Sumo gets back into his groove, or Tom and Furi up their game, it will be ridiculous.

Thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard. I was as fast in the VW as I was in my Mazda (With more of a setup) So I would have been in the same place in the race, just because they never got the best from the car doesnt mean it was slow!

For eg if Plato wasnt in MG people would think it too is slow with Neate running at the back...

Plato/Neate in the MG's :p

EDIT: Just read the whole thing and repated you *facepalm*. Night lads 👍

If a driver is getting the cars around one track around the same time, and around another track (Monza) over a second faster, it's plain to see the car that is a second faster is too fast.

Then fine - when the VW clearly becomes to fast you cap it then. Like they did in 2010 BTCC for the Ford.

Its a wasted effort for about a page and bit to moan about a car which hasnt even got inside the top 5 yet imo. I think some cars need to be decreased and others increased. But I believed that what Furi has done is right and fair, and if something does change or smash the field then he will come to the right solution. Atm I think theres not point in capping in VW - maybe others but not VW. All your testing is not valid due to you being a differen person from Furi/Tom/Sumo.

Id really stop moaning Paul, just get on with racing on Saturday - its a game so calm down.

They would - and maybe thats why the MG power hasnt been capped, because maybe TOCA think its Plato doing all the work rather than the car. Neate shows that the car may not be good for him, but Plato can drive any car fast.

Also you cant use reuslts from you - thats stupid. You dont drive the VW. All results should be done from the drivers driving that car, so only Furi, Toms and Sumo's results or lap times should be used to compare to the other drivers in different cars.

You are missing the point.

The VW is too fast right now, and by the time it needs capping, it will be too late...

Why not just let it run it's course? Some cars will be stronger than others at different tracks and we know that, it's up to the drivers who are at a disadvantage to reduce the gap.

I miss yesterday when we were gay :nervous:

The fact is as I proved there was no disadvantage at Cape and isnt at AR. If I was in the VW id be roughly where I am now if not higher up.

Tom

I agree - sorry Tom tired to show your points in more detail

Ahh I can't be bothered to argue about this any more. You guys are missing the point.

It's plain to see that the VW is at no disadvantage at the slower windier tracks as PaulMac has proved, and yet they have a monumental advantage at Monza. God only knows what that advantage will be like at HSR!!!

And for those saying that it's not too bad as the Scirocco drivers aren't as good as PaulMac etc... Sumo098 won Season 3 and is now driving the VW.

Isnt that a con to what youve been moaning about all night? Sumo is a quick guy - but yet the VW isnt matching any of your test results.

I dont see why your moaning. We didnt miss any points, yes its quick, but with no top 5 results I see no reason as to why we should be worried.

No top 5 results. Have you watched the replay? Most drivers didn't get a chance to show what they were made of because of incidents. Sumo got hit a few times.

Sumo also hasn't posted any lap times yet. What do you mean it isn't matching our test results?! We tested the car, it did those times. I don't see why anyone else has to match that?

Tom
I disagree, Mazda's and Honda's should take advantage while the VW's struggle then we can pounce which makes things interesting.

Thats like saying we should have let the red bulls struggle in straight line speed and take advantage last f1 season.

I did these laps with Gokart, Rotax and a few others watching me so yeah im not lieing go ask them yourself they seen with theyre own 2 eyes how quick the damn VW is.

Gokart was mistified when he seen the pace I could pull in the VW at AR and Monza.

And with old points, VW would be even further behind. I am NOT deliberatly favouring anyone. I never heard cries of protest when cars were 2 seconds faster at Cape. Its about driver. Put Schumacher in a Hispania and he could get it a hell of a lot further up the grid than Karthikeyan.

NO changes are going to be made unless something drastic happens. I love how people complain when cars are too similar, and then when they are different people complain.

Your still turning up for races, racing and getting on with it. If Mazda suddenly destroy everyone again at Autumn Ring then I penalised Mazda, you'd be mad. Also I'll point out:

Draft, Breaking, Weather, and Honda being fastest at Le Mans test. I had a Lotus in BST V8 Challenge some 15mph faster than others in race trim, but it was weak in other areas.

People have complained in TOCA about the rules being changed. Yet apparently whenever nothing is doen its wrong. Dax said that no-one talked about his 3 wins, an incredible feat in any car and worthy of praise. Maybe thast because everyone was still going about VW.

I'll roughly quote someone from a previous season:

In TOCA single lap pace often means little, and handling matters. Which is where Mazda and Honda have an edge. VW have an edge on straights.

I;m sticking to my guns here, because otherwise I know someone going's to bite me back if I change.

And you come back for the show each week, and drive. If you guys are concerned, get your head down and drive. Good drivers should be able to beat faster cars.

So, show us what you've got.

Furi.

You should - it was the right choice to not be capped 👍

Furi, I always agree with you but this time I don't.

At Monza and HSR, the Mazda doesn't even keep up with the VW in it's slipstream.

At other tracks they are even, but not at the straights.

Whatever, I don't care for TOCA like I did last season so not gonna argue. Just yanno if the Vw's get penalised its only for their faster tracks anyway, only slower at cape due to driver etc....

In stock form the Mazda is slowest in a straight line.

I still think it is silly to risk the deer's life.

Furi the damn race 3 results are still wrong for the 4th time!

Overal results are correct Me 10 points, DK 9, ATIN 8 and Sumo 5 so how did you put Sumo infront of DK and ATIN when he was behind them...

Going to be updated, been very busy of late.

See edit to how blaringly obvious your blunder was .

paul managed a 1:21.6 in the mini, me with the same set-up after 3 laps only managed a 1:24.3

I don't see why everyone is moaning about the VW. There are other people in far weaker cars, struggling to post laps within a second of the fastest, who actually have the right to moan. :boggled:

I also don't see how the other cars can't stick with the VW in it's slipstream when the VW is only 7mph faster as the top.

Paul was 5/6 car lengths behind me coming out the last corner at monza. We were in free run so no slipstream. he caught me and passed me at the first start line. the one by the pit entry.

im not saying it should be penalised round tracks like AR, because if it's on the pace then it makes closer racing. it is when it obliterates the rest of the grid before we have even made it to turn 1.

leave it for AR and i say we have a test session next week for HSR so we can see how fast the VW actually is. if it's 2 tenths quicker , i'm fine with that, the mazda and honda were that much up on everyone a cape ring. if it's 5/6 tenths up then i think you should think about a penalty.

To all those moaning about the VW

Go get a Volvo, tune it to this years specs and take it out and try it. You'll stop moaning about the speed of your own car as the Volvo IS way off the pace.

NOW SHUT IT
