VWs typically have retarded car names. Who names cars after ball sports? Golf, Polo!

Anyone seen the Amarok pickup VW do now? Apparently that means wolf in Inuit mythology

BMW had the right idea with numbers and letters. That kind of nomenclature is timeless.

But the number-letter car names aren't very memorable. :trouble:

I bet if you asked people to name models of BMW they would remember a lot more than models of VW or perhaps of any Finnish car manufac........ oh, this is awkward :guilty:

I love how this thread has turned into car names 101 :)

1 series, 3 series, 5 series. 1M, M3, M5....

And those other cars that nobody cares about, 4,6,7 etc.:p

Like MP4-12C. Instant classic.
Yes, everyone remembers their fax number ;)

Edit: Heres a couple; Ford Probe, Subaru Brat, Volkswagen Thing, any others?

That's why with the Spyder they took the opportunity and renamed it the 12C...

DK
E30, E36, E46, E92 etc. Howzat? ;)

Which gen model is the 320I touring car? The one used in early TOCA seasons?

^It's an E46. The standard 330i and Premium M3 are E92s, all other 3-series in game are E46s.

No the 330i is a e90

I feel like switching to the BMW, after my first lap with it with a cobbled-together tune (and on cold tyres) I managed a 1:21.0, and I can lap regularly in the mid 1:19s. I know it's still far off the pace, but it makes a change from barely getting into the 1:20s.

Will begin private testing tomorrow, will be at the test on Friday :)

So far it's close between the Audi and the VW. At cape ring south the VW is 0.2 up at the second sector but looses out by 0.3 on the Audi in the final sector. It might just be me. I'll test them at other tracks before I make my final decision.

What time does the test start tonight?

7.15pm. HSR for 90 minutes.

What is the fastest Cape ring time so far?

I seen some guys dip into the 1:17s, though (e.g. PaulMac).

Orama's post is more a reflection of things tbh Sam.👍

Ah okay. Managing to get some 18's in with my Honda. Weird little car, hates kerbs :(

Tbh, HSR is such a draft-fest whether low/mid 18s or high 17s it's not gonna make much difference in a race.

HSR test will be just 1hr tonight, starts 7.30pm.

Room Open!

I apologize for my driving tonight. I was trying my hardest to keep up and realize that some people may not have been totally happy with the driving standards I displayed.

Sam was asking about Cape Ring South. We managed 08s/09s tonight not 18s :)

So Scirocco still too quick?

It could do with a little less power.

was around 0.3 quicker over a lap, draft equalled it out. CRZ was fastest though.

My times (all without draft):

Focus, Civic: 1:10.7
BMW: 1:10.5
Mazda: 1:10.0
Scirocco: 1:08.8
