Round 4 - European Holiday pt. 1
So far we've raced in springtime Japan, faced ice and snow at the arena, and saw the leaves change at Autumn Ring. I don't know about you, but I feel like taking the summer off and vacationing in Europe. To make the most of our time, we'll spend the remaining 3 rounds touring 3 different countries.

First up is France. We'll meet at the historical Circuit de la Sarthe II for some high speed testing. This track can be rather boring without fellow racers so we'll be running along side some at the Family Cup (+4). But for the purposes of this competition, only your first lap times will be counted. In addition to the total lap 1 time, submit the split-times at T1 and T4. Have Fun!!!

What cars are we using?

You have to draft on the straight stretch. My car couldn't get there that fast without it.
Drafting doesn't help since top speed of my car is around 230 km/h and AI accelerates much better, not to mention their superior top speed.

Round 4 Results

Fabmaru gains 4 points with a time of 4'40.756

BH-21 gains 3 points with a time of 4'42.345

Thc118 gains 2 points with a time of 4'46.xxx

Matej gains 1 point with a time of 4'55.211

The results of the split times mirror those of the entire lap, so everyone gets double the points.

Round 5 - European Holiday pt. 2
The second leg of our vacation takes us to Germany and that can only mean one thing! What can I say that the track can't say for itself? Next up is Nurburgring.

For this round, your goal is to spend as little time in green hell as possible. Starting with a line-up of -1 difficulty Family Cup competitors, record the time it takes to cleanly pass all of them. Contact will result in a two second penalty. Post your times in the thread. The second half of this round will test your patience. Your goal is the same: to pass all your competitors, but this time you'll choose the difficulty of the field. Private Message the time and difficulty. No penalties for this half. Have Fun!!!

(I added 10 to the difficulty and divided that by the time to get points)

Round 6 - The Final Destination
Word has spread about our little competition and we've been challenged by another racer. Take your vehicles and head towards Italy to meet our challenger. Foolishly, he's allowed us to choose the venue for the race which will be Citta di Aria. What he doesn't know is that we'll be racing on Racing Super Soft (R5) tires. The time he has set is 1'44.500 in his $600,000 Cizeta V16. Can you put him to shame in your $25k vehicles?

Set your best time in Practice/Free Run at Citta di Aria. No penalties for wall touches. 10 points for a matching time, 2 points per second faster, -1 point per second slower.

(To keep it fair, Matej can exchange his tires for a full refund, and spend it on something else)

Since this is the last of the FF challenges, I'm thinking about doing another one with the other 2.0L vehicles which will be more oriented towards actual performance. Any interest?

My time of two minutes was not a typo. The lead car was very tough to catch.

But your time of 3 minutes in the second round getting 10 points sure seems to be.

Hmmm... yeah you're right. I should've only received 9 points.

Here's how I calculated the points for the second part.

The four difficulty levels that were raced on were 0(you), 1(Fabmaru), 2(Matej), and 7(Me).
I added 10 to each difficulty then divided by the time in seconds. The resulting numbers were a bit small for me to notice how they compared with each other so I multiplied them by 10... I read my number as .98 instead of .93. Yours turned out to be .886, Matej's .49, and Fabmaru's .675. It seemed like a good method to account for both the difficulty and time at that difficulty.

Citta di Aria: 1'48.152

This is best what I can do with 323f without hits, any additional upgrades would ruin current balance on my vehicle so I decided to stick with lotic parts.

I don't think I'm gonna participate in next round (exams are coming along with summer hotness), but I'll be here as a spectator as always. :)

I was waiting on Fabmaru since there wasn't an official deadline, but I should probably conclude this challenge officially.

BH-21 takes top honor in the very sporty Mitsubishi FTO.
Thc118 is first runner up in the sensible but surprising Mazda Protege.
Fabmaru after leading most of the competition falls to 3rd in the turbocharged Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Matej struggled to get on track and finishes 4th in the Mazda 323.

I'm holding off on running the other 2.0L vehicles since my internet reception has been terrible for the last couple weeks and the Blaster Challenge is up and running.
