It seems there was some footage of the stig taking off his helmet to reveal his identity. All previous guesses at who he was were all wrong..

Why does everyone say it has to be multiple stigs? Why is it impossible for there actually to be only 1?

It seems like that's just a rumor someone started and it grew to be accepted as the truth.

There are multiple stigs, when the original black stig came clean and told the press who he really was in his book he also mentioned the fact that their have been loads of stigs mainly because of drivers being unavaliable or ill. Ben Collins was the White Stig which everyone seems to have forgotten all of a sudden now Schuey has appeared for 1 show only because of the FXX.

So when is Schumacher scheduled to be run off of the HMS Lusty?

There might only be on stig, but if there was, it wasnt MS all the time thats for sure.
Oh, I know it wasn't MS, but it seems people aren't open at all to the idea that there might only be one stig, and maybe a substitute if he's not available.

I think there's only one. The F1 driver board pretty much proved that the Stig isn't an F1 driver, because they all had a very different driving style that only they seemed to share. The Stig drives pretty rough. He's always hammering those cars, losing traction, and generally being not very smooth at all. It's extremely similar every time.

I know who he is
..I can't say, but I have connections, a letter and an autograph

I can scan them if you want

That's exactly how it is - and what most people mean when they say multiple Stigs.

White Stig is almost always Ben Collins. Collins has featured twice in the show in person (driving an Evo and a Bowler Wildcat downhill against a skateboarder; driving the Mercedes SL into which someone was parachuting) and is named in every stunt/challenge safety report they do (notably named in the accident report with the Vampire crash as a technical adviser). It isn't really a secret any more.

Sometimes though the owner of a vehicle prefers to drive it themselves, or other commitments/scheduling means Collins can't drive a car. The shining example is below, but it has happened a few times.

This is correct.

Nope - I thought that too but it was Franck Montagny.

And... we still already have a thread for this!
