Is your harddrive Fat32 formatted, that's the only fs the ps3 recognizes!

yes i know that, but i cant change it, g.o.d. knows why -.-

any whay, it was from behind the starting point of test speed line so i guess doesnt count for you guys.

PS: it hit 487km/h at the 9.500m mark, and kept like that to the end of the road so i guess its 487 not 486 something xD

any way, some bugatti suspencison ive seen can really rise up, i cant make mine rise that much, at least doesnt looks that high compared to yours, only can make 40. -25 in the suspension... what kind of settings are you using in your suspencion IR?

It's not entirely in the suspension , more important is to keep the car from bouncing up and down. (which causes sparks) and costs you acceleration time.

I got the GT-ONE up to 495.x km/h , but there is something I haven't figured out about this car yet..

I tried my hand at the new gtr black edition. I managed .1mph more than my previous record unless some else already beat it lol

Car: GTR Black Edition '12
Top Speed: 259.6mph

I have hit today the world record speed for Gt5!!!!

I did today (while drafting) 706 km/h with the X2011 in arcade mode in special stage route X.

I need someone to please tell me how in hell can I put the video on Youtube for people to see it before someone else breaks or reaches my record!!!

Well it's impossible to break my record as I hit the TOP Speed of the X2011 (with the gear box at 730 km/h). Only way to surpass my record now is to use a X2010 S.Vettel (wich has a Gear of like 800km/h) but that would be very difficult since the X2010 you cannot change the gears like the other Red Bull's and has less horsepower than the X2011 (mine has 1657hp).

Please someone tell me how can I put the video on Youtube. I can't change the format of the replay :S. It seems like it only works on PS3 and unfortunatelly I lost my camera a few days ago :S.

Better YET, can I upload the replay in mediafire or something else and then you guys could see it???

BTW without drafiting I hit 540,4 km/h with the X2011 (had to mess up with the suspension, aerodynamics).

This is far from the record I'm afraid. I have done, and uploaded the video evidence, of 556mph (895km/h) while drafting.

As for non-slipstream top speeds, I'm finding something very odd.

Until now, my non slipstreaming top speed in the X2011 was 349mph (which the vehicle achieved relatively quickly too), but this could only be achieved online. Offline, this would translate to 10mph slower at 339.6mph, and the vehicle took a very long time to get there.

I've spent over an hour tinkering away at the set up, and can now achieve 348mph (560km/h) offline. What's strange is that the X2011 is still accelerating very strongly and then suddenly stops, it just won't go any higher. What's even more odd, is that online, it won't go above 342mph and takes even longer to get there. Something strange is going on with the physics engine.

895??? Can you give me the link please? BTW You did 896 ONLINE!!!?? Right? I did 706 offline against the AI who only achieve speeds between 480-490 and that's to low for me to draft that much ... Online I can draft behind guys going 540 and even 600 (while drafting others) .

@Lewis_Hamilton_
I'm still waiting for your video evidence of 895 km/h. I've see a LOT of youtube videos about Top Speeds and none was even close to 706km/h (my record against AI in SSRX).

I noticed this too, although im only at 337.7 mph. It gets to 337.7 then I watch the heads up display and it goes down to 334mph like I've hit the rev limiter but I didn't, at the same time im losing mph the rpms keep going up. Its weird.

Car: Ford GT '06
Top Speed: 297 mph (Drafting a Veyron)
Horsepower: 850
Aero Front Min
Aero Rear Min
Additional Notes: Stock Transmission and fully lowered suspension

How do I submit times to the leaderboards? I have two cars that I was able to beat.

The Viper ACR and Judd 05 LMP.

By posting in this thread your car specs in the form from post #1 :
Car: Car Name
Top Speed:
Extras, for Google Docs (Please make an effort to collect this);
PP Min/Max: *
Aero Front Min/Max:
Aero Rear Min/Max:
Additional Notes:
(i.e. High-RPM Turbo or Supercharger - if both were available, which were you using?)
*(To find PP Min, put full ballast, lowest aerodynamics and power limiter to lowest possible setting. To find the max; take off ballast, put full aerodynamics and set power limiter to 100%)

So , car name and speed (preferably in both units)

And the extras are for filling the info about car's minimum and maximum PP and DF values (numbers) for front and rear.
Not for listing if you did your run with minimum or maximum DF at front/rear

And additional notes could be things like : No wing used (even if there was one available) - Enzo for example is faster without wing.
And when there are different turbos and/or supercharger options available you can specify which one you used.
You can also put here if your car was with permanent engine damage (over 5000km /~3110 miles. In other words not at maximum power.

Googledocs update:

New entries added for the following:

  • Gran Turismo PDI Racing Kart 100 - 98.0mph
  • Gran Turismo Racing Kart 100 - 97.7mph
  • Gran Turismo Racing Kart Jr. - 78.3mph
  • Gran Turismo Racing Kart 125 - 105.4mph
  • Gran Turismo Racing Kart 125 SPL - 105.4mph

  • Honda Mobil 1 NSX - 211.8mph
  • Mercedes SLR McLaren '09 - 267.1mph
  • Mine's BNR34 Skyline '06 (Premium) - 214.9mph
  • Mine's BNR34 Skyline '00 (Standard) - 218.9mph
  • Mine's Lancer Evolution - 188.6mph

(Had a funny half an hour trying to get the karts up to some decent speeds)

With regards to submission data, I would say have a look at the data that is already submitted to the Googledocs spreadsheet, if the car you are testing is in the list then most of the additional info (aero parameters, pp variation etc) will already be in there. If it's a completely new entry to the sheet then these details will be nice, but not essential to actually submitting. I generally check over all the data for missing info and update it from examples in my garage. If I don't have the car then I will send you a little request via pm, but I have an extensive collection, so most cars are covered.

For the most part all you will need provide is the name of the car and the speed attained, preferably in mph. I would also like to reiterate the point that this is for non-drafted speeds only, and would rather only take results from the standing start 10km speedtest. No driving back to the banking to get a longer run up and no anecdotal online or full lap speeds. This is crucial for accurate data, and to ensure that these speeds are attainable by everyone, without knowing specific tricks or requiring any special set of circumstances, such as disabling the wings etc.

Thank you all for the data so far, and hope that sometime it will be of use to you too during your GT5 journeys.
(I use this for online racing, if there's a pack of Veyrons limited to 650pp on Route X draft racing I like to bring out something to surprise them, and generally do. At 650pp the table is levelled, and the Veyron is no longer the noob powerhouse of choice and can easily be beaten)

  • Nissan R89C Race Car - 272.7mph
  • Toyota RSC '01 - 197.4mph*
(Apologies for the lack of full names, but you'll know which ones I meant)

* Ferrari California used is without the wing attached, and I will return to test the model with wing and hard-top roof at a later time. Toyota RSC has both Turbo and Supercharger options, and although the supercharger gives better power and low-end acceleration, the stage 3 turbo gives a better top speed.

Now up to 254 tests in the googledocs listings.
