Hey everyone my name is Marion. I'm new to tuning and would like to know what everybody thinks of my creations. I do not try to make my cars the fastest or the best handling but aim to get the most pleasure out of my rides. I look for a balance between drivability and fun. I aim to make my rides better than stock, eliminate under steer (yuk!), however still able to get sideways with the flick of the wheel or throttle. Please let me know what you think of my tunes and how you would improve them!

Notes about tunes:

All aids off except ABS 1
I drive with a DS3 using the buttons
Tuned and tested on Nurburgring online
Transmissions set for Nurburgring with some room for drafting
All tunes are a constant work in progress as I fine tune and gather more knowledge.

For my first tune I present to you one of my favourite all time cars. This car was an absolute beast in GT5 for races and drifting. In GT6 it has made a great impression on me so far. However from memory it seems they have dulled down the engine sound since GT5. Or I just have the wrong exhaust installed. I present to you the...

Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 '70

1970-Chevelle-454-SS.jpg

Version 1: Stiff and slippery. Lots of fun but not very fast. I love how this car turned out. Throttle is somewhat forgiving but the back end will still step out if you are not careful enough. Even with a DS3 using buttons it is more than possible to roll on the accelerator smoothly. Going too hot into a corner you can just turn the wheel hard and point the car in the direction you want it to go. Let it slide until the time is right and either hop back on the throttle to drift your way out or wait until it hooks up and roll away clean.

Version 2: Much grippier, better turn in and faster lap times over all. I think it is a very good improvement. Also with softer springs you must be more gentle recovering from a drift as you will get some wobble if you are too rough. It seems with this car improving one thing will hinder another. Tune is not perfect but to me strikes a nice balance. Only changes are listed. Everything not mentioned is same as version 1 above.

Quick and nimble. Just how I like it. Slow in fast out with reward you with a better lap time but it's more fun to get a little sideways and burn some rubber. If you treat her just right she'll show you a good time. Work in progress.

This car was a real challenge to tune. Both starting from scratch and using others tunes as base seemed to get me nowhere. With a little persistance and a bunch or trial and error I think I have improved on anything else I've seen. But then again setups are a very personal thing.

My uncle had an 86 Monte Carlo SS and I've always loved that car. The looks, the sounds, and the smell of burning rubber is forever engraved into my brain. This is the closest I'll ever get to driving it and I really love it. Try painting yours in a dark blue or purple. Looks amazing!

Even in just a few weeks I think my tuning skills have largely improved. This car shows that. It's gone from a wobbling, oversteering, unpleasent drive to something much much better. This car has a nice turn in, mid corner grip, and managable power. It feels very planted without understeering. However push and she'll push back. She's heavy and powerful. Show some respect and you'll have a lot of fun.

Good start to your garage! I have your garage listed as "Torque City. Classic Muscle Tunes by Marion" in the directory. Let me know if you want anything different than that.

Welcome to the GTPlanet tuning forum. I have linked your garage among the list of of garages at the top of the forum. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...fitt-physics-discussions.291068/#post-9004012

Love the Rat Fink art in the OP.

Thanks! I have more Rat Fink tattoos and memorabilia then I care to admit. You can count on me bugging you for advice in the future. Your knowledge and tunes are nearly unrivaled in these parts. Keep up the awesome work!

Welcome to GTP 👍... Need more Mopar : dopey::lol:

Exactly why I'm here. I'm admittedly a terrible tuner but we all have to start somewhere right? So why not start with all the classic muscle like Mopar I don't see too much of around here!

That will be perfect! Thanks for adding me. Darn you guys keep ontop of things around here eh?!

Can't wait to try these out, especially the chevelle. Muscle cars are my favorite, and I also stick to Nurburgring (offline though). Once I find a good tune I like to push it to 550pp. Looking forward to all your tunes!

Welcome good luck with the garage.
Just down the 401 in Guelph.

Thanks! I've been to guelph many times. Too bad the 401 is always rammed or me and my Bonniville would have much more fun!

The Chevelle still need some fine tuning. I am going to play with the dampers a bit soon and see if I can get it more stable during high speed bumpy corners. Maybe play with the lsd accel too. If you wish to push it to 550pp you may want to try sm or ss tires. Maybe stiffen the springs a touch too. Eventually I will probably do the same. Thanks for the reply!

Ahhh! The Muscle.

Great tunes so far, have only built the Chevelle and the Vette...will be driving them as soon as I can! Will let you know and look foward to more of these. 👍

Working on an update for the Chevelle now. After driving some other peoples tunes I think it could be improved upon. The car feels heavy/stiff and throttle induced oversteer is quite sensitive. I enjoy it but let me know what you all think! Very fun to drive as is. Lots of burning rubber and tire squeal. I'll let you know how it goes.

GNX has been released. Best tune I've done so far. Very pleasent drive albeit maybe too powerful. I'm really starting to grasp what everything does and how it all works together. That being said I still have a lot to learn.

Chevelle updated. V2 is much safer and better overall drive but V1 is just super fun.

Hey Marion,
Love the garage you got going on here  You gotta love a muscle car don't you 👍. I just tuned up my Chevelle to your V2 specs and I like it a lot
It's a smile inducing ride :D

Thank you very much. Your feedback is very much appreciated! It's been hard lately to find a lot of tuning time with other great tuners releasing so many fun rides. I plan on going over the corvette and the shelby again soon to try and iron out some imperfections. I also have a few other cars on the way. Just gotta buckle down and find some time!

Hey Marion,

Any chance you might be working on more Muscle Car tunes?

I'd love to see tunes for:

Dodge Charger R/T 440 '70
Dodge Charger Super Bee '71
Mercury Cougar XR-7
Plymouth Cuda '71

Cheers
