Me. It's been a bit of a scruffy season all round, a lot of... interesting driving standards have been seen. The cars are a bit unstable looking, too.

Omg the new Subaru Impreza touring car in TCR from Singapore looks bloody amazing!!!!! The factory subaru livery looks so good

Edit: actually not a factory livery...just factory colour scheme

So the DTM race today in Nurburgring was dominated by Molina, while Wehrlein extended his championship to some 30 points. It was an owkey race although I was seriously annoyed by Wehrlein who seem to.. I don't know, seems like he can't get over the pit stop problems he had in the race and keep making a fuss of it on the team radio.

So there are only 2 races left in Hockenheim. Can't wait for the finale but I think Pascal Wehrlein is looking more likely to win the championship.

DTM thread is here.

The WTCC Manufacturers title was wrapped up by Citroen this morning (surprise!), but the highlight of the day had to be Tarquini getting into a post-race fight with Valente.

^^

Oh my, probably my searching skills is bad and me being rusty after being away from the forum for quite a long time! Apologize and thanks for the link there mate

I know this is a little late, but did anyone happen to catch the final two races of the ETCC season from Pergusa?

Pretty massive shunt on lap 1 of the first race.

This was the first time I've ever watched an event at Pergusa, and wow is it ever an amazing track  Fast, scary walls, and beautiful scenery...what else could you ask for! It would be sick to see some faster cars here, either WTCC, or in a dream world, V8 Supercars :sly:

(Italian) V8 Superstars raced there... it's a great track, I think the 2012 race was pretty eventful, might be one to watch.

The circumstances were bizarre, so race one was quite enjoyable. I still really dislike Pergusa though.

Cool thanks, I'll have to check that out 👍

What's to dislike???

It's like Monza but better :D

There's something about where it's situated that makes it look really... primitive. The layout is fine, it just feels like it's stuck in the early 1960s.

I would say picturesque instead of primative, but each to their own I guess

I don't disagree that it is extremely run down these days, which is a real shame. It seems like a perfect spot to turn into a destination racing "resort", similar to VIR. If it got a facelift and some improved pit facilities, I think it would be one of the most beautiful tracks in the world.

I found this cheesy video which shows the decay of Pergusa. Some of the photos at the beginning show the potential the track has, and many of them are from as late as the mid to late 1990's (going off the BMWs)

A circuit has to have character though, in my opinion, and the lower level, or national circuits tend to achieve that more for me than the big places. Being 'weathered' lends a circuit some charm. Zandvoort is a great example for me, it's tatty, run down, beaten by the north sea, not really enough facilities and the parking is abysmal... but it's got a really 'real' feel to it... not sure how best to describe it, it's... tactile. It's different, and it has character (it also has a great bar at the end of the pitlane which helps).

Oh, I love circuits with character... I just think Pergusa is so dilapidated it ends up looking like a tip.

I don't really have a solid reason for it. It just makes me feel weird.

I'm just watching the TCR races from Thailand...and Alan Menu is driving the Subaru now . This is good, this is very good :D

Ya that was some 🤬 🤬! Race 1 was its usual boring self. Race 2 had some pretty good racing, lots of paint rubbing...and Seb was closing on the lead very quickly. We definitely got robbed of a last lap scrap for 1st :(

I like the idea of running the race at sunset. The cars looked great under the lights, and the sky was beautiful. Looked like a video game.

Something seemed very off in this event though. The camera work was mediocre at best, the program director was all over the damn map, and it seems the race director didn't realise it gets dark when the sun sets. Perhaps he wasn't a local, not realizing the sunset only takes 15 bloody minutes, so he didn't realize either a time buffer or a couple extra lights might be a good idea :banghead:

Only watched these races last night...

Stewards decided that one post race anyhow, when Tiago was excluded for ride height infringement. This also means Loeb is infront of Muller in the championship now.

Which actually took them until the next morning to decide upon, even though the ride height checks are conducted virtually immediately post-race.

Not fishy in the slightest. /s

That does sound a little odd. What would be the motivation for the fishiness?

Citroen, as always. They're still massively biased towards them in everything they do.

Citroën have said that they will leave the WTCC or the WRC at the end of 2016.

Shocked and surprised it has never been talked about. I thought I could bet my house on coming on here and finding everyone talking about the various issues associated. Citroen have announced that they will be taking a hiatus from the WRC next year to develop the new WRC car which will have the Elysee engine inside and will run a two car C-Elysee in their final year of the WTCC which sees Volvo come in as a full factory effort. The only drivers for their final year in the WTCC is Muller and Lopez. I think this will mean possibly Loeb going back to WRC full time.

They obviously did it for a good reason but as a Touring Car fan I just think that whilst they were deadly serious about the WTCC, a small part of me just thinks they just used the WTCC as a basis to test to develop a car they really intend to use in the WRC. I am sure I am wrong. But that is just how it appears.

I wouldn't say they did it for a good reason they made the FIA change the rules just for them which then put a MASSIVE cost on every other team.

I can't talk about anything other than the racing as I don't have the insider knowledge of the topics mostly talked about on here like the mechanics of a race car, the money each driver has to campaign a season of racing or the various sporting and technical regs. I don't know they even made the FIA change rules to their favour let alone what the rules were. But what I meant was a good reason 'for them'. The management of the motorsport side.

The C-Elysse is too big for rallying, and the DS3 is one of the most successful rally cars of all time. It makes no sense to use it - a short wheelbase is what you want in rallying - as the DS3 will still be able to compete under the new WRC regulations; it just needs some upgrades.

I think Citroen would do better with a significantly less funded BTCC program and still have the budget to win.

Combined with the WRC effort.
