Hi Turbo

Great, but how long is the long track? Ideally we want the lap length to be 1m10s - 1m40s, as this will be better for newcomers.

We do normally use Eifel, but there have been some Mt Aso tracks that have been used, just make sure the track is 3 sectors long and have the curbs in the correct place. Also, standards are very high, so it's got to be special to make the grade. I would prefer to try the shorter track, but I'll download whatever there is available and let you know.

Thanks 👍

The Long one should be something between 1m10 and 1m40 seconds for 2.5-2.7 miles.

To be in the 1m10-1m40s zone, on the short track, you should rather use a not too fast, stable car. The Mt Aso track (which is online right now, because the Vintage Car Race Club will test it this evening) has more than 3 sectors because I couldn't get the desired result with only three sectors.

And of course, no problem if it doesn't reach your quality standards.

Sorry guys, my system locked up in last race.
No problem Geit! 👍

And now for someone special ...

Sorry I had to run last night, my meds took affect earlier than normal and I was nodding off in the chair.

Fantastic pictures Cobani, I should have changed my suit and helmet to match, white / blue or silver / gold would have been a better match.

Hope you get some of your pictures in this new online gallery thingy that PD / Sony / GT are doing now, you capture some great shots, 10/10 mate.👍

Phillip.

Yeah, nice work Cobani.

We tested 2 tracks last night.

Dave's fast and easy to learn track with the cobra's on racing hard. I think the tyres were a good choice as this would stop the carnage.

And Gary's technical circuit which takes a few laps to get in to, but is great for racing and we used the RX7.

Tonight we'll be testing Jon's track (available from me for download) and turbogeit's, which I think phil may have.

I will be working late tonight, so I'm sure that Phil and Gary will take care of proceedings until I manage to get back.

Any other tracks people have can be tested in two weeks. Next weeks track will be the best of the 3 we have used. I think that's Boxston and SAMMY R8 so far, plus whatever we choose for this week.

👍

Here's an Rfactor version of the track I raced at this weekend.
Pretty accurate.

And here's the real thing.

Awesome Cobani. Looks like you were having fun last night.

To any moderators reading this please could you assist me with any information about setting up a voting poll for this thread?

I too had fun last night testing. For my track I had a go at it quickly last night and I would like to widen the last sector on it but I haven’t had the chance to make changes but that aside this is the combo I would like to bring forward for this week.

TCR Wednesday fun night is Shuffling the pack this week
Just for Wednesday fun night only
Track Phantasey Ring by GTP_Cpt_D

As I’ve not seen any feedback with regards the Wednesday track (shared) for the Spitfire combo for this week fun night.

I’m going to use whatever track is decided on for the main weekly event, but this Wednesday will be a shuffle night.

I’ve tested the runners (Tracks) on offer for this week this morning and, it should give good entertainment for a fun night on any of them, more a test of your driving skills than who can go the fastest.👍

It seemed to me that the tracks took on a whole new feel with the changing cars and tyre mix, what you could get away with in one combo, you couldn’t in the next.:scared:

I have thought about it Phil, track wise that is, and I was going to suggest an original track but this sounds way more interesting.

Yes I was going for Madrid, tested there and it was very entertaining with Alexi idea of full tune. That is unless I did manage to get any favourable feedback on the shared track.

The Cobra was a beast, but indeed so much fun. It is rewarding to keep it together for a whole lap ;)

Looking forward to shuffle night!

Cool, so shuffle night tonight.
Great idea Phil.

I will be updating the thread with the combo ASAP.
It may be controversial, so don't hate me.

How do you guys feel about the combo lasting for 2 weeks instead of 1?
I'm struggling to keep up at the moment. Plus I'm just getting the best out of the combo by the weekend, but then we have to change.

Also, we're going to try and formalise testing a bit more. The idea is to have 2 or 3 tracks per night. Each track would have up to 1 hour spent on it, 30 mins practice, 30 mins racing. I think the 2 week combo would help with gathering the tracks in time too, as we would still test each Mon/Tues.

See you guys tonight.

👍

Personally I find it a good idea. I have the same feeling.

So to get a better understanding of what your proposing:

Agreed! Excellent fun with the Cobra's, hope to have more. Looking forward to the shuffle also. 👍

I'm still going with Phantasey Ring as I do think out of all the tracks the members have tested this week, it will give the best rewards and entertainment for a Shuffle night. Remember this combo is for one night only

Nice idea about the two weeks Alexi, give members like yourself and others more time on the main track. I'll try my hardest to come up with midweek breaks.

This I can see will allow more time for members to test (try) other track combos for one night fun on Wednesdays.

Room open you best be quick, open 5 minutes and already 6 in the room.

I agree that we should run the featured combo for longer but don't wont to lose testing as this is for the track creators to show off there (EDIT 3 sector) tracks and also a way of TCR looking out for those special tracks to use in future combos. We just need to manage testing better as Alexi and myself have just used it in the past to discuss what we would like to run for the weeks combo but as there are a few track creators now, maybe we should rather label it as Track Creator nights (help me out here).

As usual, I've got stuck at the computer.
I'll be on in 45 minutes.

Jon, your suggested timetable makes sense to me and looks like it does to a few others too.
I'll be posting this weeks main event very soon, but will probably work on the various amendments to the first post at the weekend.

This weeks main combo.

REMEMBER ME?

After a couple of weeks of any car, I think it's about time we had a one car race. Incredibly, this car is rarely seen on the TCR tracks, but I remember having plenty of races in this beast during the good ole prologue days.
