transmission type

just wondering what transmission type you use to drift. i use the auto transmision in my rx-8 but i wanted to know if anyone used the manual transmision and if its better for drifting. just my curiosity. thanks.

i ususally use manual.. mostly because i dont like the car dropping gears in a drift, which it can sometimes do on auto. Additionally on manual i can redline longer and not shift up.

Manual trans=more control........even though you can stay in gear with the automatic, you still can't gear-down into shift-lock when you need it.

that way u can drop it into the apropriate gear to keep the revs high and the tires spinning, i dont need no ****in automatic trannie choosin my gears for me

I use auto most of the time. I really don't see the need for manual when drifting in GT3. Without a clutch, it's fairly useless. I use manual more often when I race though. It can really help save tires in pro races.
