Would I be right in thinking that I cannot possibly take over a neighbouring, inactive village, as if someone owns only one village it cannot be captured?

No you can't; You can only take over the 4th village + , I think... Completley inactive players will be deleted soon anyway....

What's the point of scouts/pathfinders/whateverses?

I thought you'd be able to see what units your enemy has, and what buildings are in his village. You know, something useful. Mine returned with no information at all.

You can see how many resources that person has and the numbers of troops they have.

OR

You can see what level wall and the numbers of troops they have.

That's all, I wish it told you what crannies they had:(

That's strange, your reports should look like this:

Here I've scouted Sgt. Pepper's village Midgar for resources and troops. The report shows Sgt. to have 626 wood, 502 clay, 205 iron, 1008 crops and 7 clubswingers.

This time I've scouted for defenses and troops. The report shows Sgt. has a level 2 earthwall and 7 clubswingers.

Again, I just wish the resources one also revealed cranny info, so I know if I can get my hands on those resources.

So, when the time comes to start with the seige weapons, how will you know which buildings you can target (the Rally Point apparently allows this if upgraded sufficiently) if you can't tell what buildings are there?

maybe you have to guess?

Maybe you get to chose when you send them to attack, I can't imagine why they would only attack one building/resource field per attack, but I fear that may be the case. I understand 14 fire catapults can totally wipe-out a lvl 10 resource field.

If I'm not mistaken, an upgraded Rally Point will let you target any building except for the Cranny.

I'll try to rush through a workshop and test it out.

EDIT: Level 10 workshop and lvl 15 academy will take me about a week or so, maybe I'll just wait.

I need a sitter. I am going away on Thursday, July 14, early in the morning. I won't have any computer access for the majority of the time. I will be away for 5-7 days, and will post here and/or PM the sitter when I get back.
Please contact me via PM or using the Travian Message System if you can sit for part, or all of the time.

Thanks in advance,
Slicks

But if you don't know what's there - your pathfinders/scouts can't tell you - how do you find out what buildings ARE there to target?

Another one - what's the point in upgrading your soldiers with the Blacksmith? What do they gain? Are there any specific numbers anyone has?

Blacksmith upgrades increase your attack, armoury upgrades increase you defence. I think the more advanced Combat Sim in the premium membership allows you to incorporate these upgrades, but I haven't seen any info about how much they increase the stats.

Maybe Max_DC knows, or can search the forums there.

I joined, but I can't say I'm going to dedicate time to complex strategy and alliances. I'll look in here to make sure I never attack the wrong person.
