I swear to god witti has cameras set up in my house.

So I randomly woke up around 4AM today, and since I couldn't easily fall asleep, I decided to come and check my Travian account quickly, since two of his raids took place at around 4AM. So I logon, and nothing has happened. Good. I decide to spend some resources for when he does attack, so I upgrade my marketplace for an extra merchant. I go back to sleep, grinning knowing I probably saved some resources. So I wake up at around 7:30, and I go back to check.... THE BASTARD DIDN'T ATTACK!!!! I'll be taking bets now on whether or not he's going to attack while I'm writing my physics exam this morning...

*EDIT* I've got a massive iron surplus, so boom, demonseed, you've both got 75 iron heading your way.
 
I have someone named "concept" near me. Is this OUR "Concept/unsanctified"?

He's done sod all since setting up about a week ago. Population = 2.
 
@ev0: well, he is ranked 2 on attackers list. alarich is ranked 4. and what does it mean? that they raid everyone they can. and that means that they don't really remember players they raid. he robbed you of everything already, he went to someone else, don't you think? he will be back of course, but i don't think that he has any particular preference for attacking you. it is only because you are close to him.

There are plenty of vulnerable players around me, and there are a good number of abandoned villages (Some of which are closer to him), yet I've been attacked 4 times. It wouldn't surprise me if he thinks he's beating an alliance of around 20 players because he's been raiding me without consequence (he is beating us, but only for the time being).

and he is raiding all those players he can. his city is 93 population ATM, he has huge army. that requires a lot more res than he took from you or he can produce. he has those res from other players around. he raided you 4 times because he managed to get a lot of res from these raids, so he went again hoping for the big bounty. the big bounty from the raid guarantees another raid. you lost over 2k res in 2 raids. now, tell me it is not an invitation for another 2 raids? well, it is, a nice invitation.

about beating the alliance, i agree. our performance as alliance is brutal. with few exceptions, we are farms. those leading players know each other from german travian, and must exchange msgs, like
witti: hey alarich, i just raided this fella for 2k res, he's from gtp alliance. do you know about them?
alarich: ah yes, i raided one or two of them for almost 1k res. they are noobs.

more raids like this won't do us any favour. we will lose credibility, and may lose our alliances, because noone will want to be allied with people who are repeatedly being beaten and can't organize themselves to prevent it. not to even think about retribution. you say it is only for the time being? how are we ever going to be capable of beating someone who we sponsor by letting him take our res and just use them to build more army to take more of our res. hmmm...

to be brutally honest, he is beating an alliance of over 20 players, all on his own. and i don't think he is too worried about our revenge. by the time you have army to deal with his army, he will send his catapults and destroy your city.

i'd advise against it. you are gaul. your army is the weakeast possible at early stages of the game. and very dear. i wouldn't even build the barracks. [i did, and they are useless now].
 
I have no resource or defence worries. I can build up an extremely large army within the next four days.
 
Actually, we could use Famine's troops. He's Gaul, so he's got excellent defence. We could hire his troops to defend some of us who are getting farmed repeatedly if he can get enough troops. Repelling a raid from alarich is a pipe dream right now, but witti has never sent more than 11 troops, and I know many more of us are getting farmed. If we have protection, it would serve as great discouragement towards future raids.
 
well, lets wait for famine to say how big is this army. and why would he want to defend some of us? to invest his time and res into something that doesn't need it.

'cos you dont need a single unit to be protected from farming. if you use army to protect yourself from being farmed, you only losing res and time. you could as well allow to be farmed. they will probably take less res than was spent on building units, that you will lose during attack. mkay?
 
You will need about 120 Phalanx to successfully kill 2/3 of the 75 clubswingers that Alarich is known to raid with on his first attack. Good luck.
 
Little do my neighbours know, but they are building my army, maybe I'll offer them a spot in the alliance, see what they have, then attack again.

Currently it doesn't exist. However I have enough resources and high enough levels on my Cranny, Barracks and Rally Point to stop upgrading for a couple of days and throw out somewhere around 40 Theutates and a couple of Haeduan.

Right now I can't be bothered with an army because, as you point out, if anyone tries to farm me they won't get anything but may kill some of my troops. However if they do attack me they'll be on my list and in deeeeep doo doo.
 
What I really suggest is a high level cranny, beleive me, the ywill loose interest after 4 or 5 raids with 0 0 0 0....

Just make sure your production is quite high before going there, especially in Iron and Crop ( not for actually paying for units, it cost very little crop for each and you'll probably have a surplus, but it still brings your crop production down in a snap.)

Preaching to the choir...

I set my village up for a long-term game, away from all of the Germans. I've got a relatively large couple of villages near me (35 and two 30s), but we've got two 3s, two 7s and a 2 within 5 squares of each of us that we can farm without bothering each other.

thats 14000 wood, 18000 clay, 9200 iron and 2400 crop. and what is your production then?
 
I'm slightly incredulous that you'll be able to afford the 80 food/hr required to sustain the thunders in addition to the 41 you currently support, you'll need to do smashingly well in your raids.

Also, you are aware that the Thunder require:
Academy Level 5
Stable Level 3

and the Haeduans require
Requirements
Academy Level 15
Stable Level 10

just to be built.

It'd take about a week of soldier building, give or take.


And no, I was unaware that I need to get an Academy at that level for the Haeduans. But since I'm continually upgrading and building just so I don't run out of capacity it shouldn't be a problem.

wood 84/h, clay 107/h, iron 55/h, crop 14/h

Famine, you are going to be a legend in travian as well. what kind of digital black magic do you practice then? can i be an apprentice? :)
