me thinks it works only 1 way.

eg, if you attack with phanlanxes, you take the combined attacking points vs the infantry defending points of the defending units.


Like I said before, if everything's equal, 1000points vs 800 points will see the lesser 1 lose out. simple as ABC.

Maybe you highly mutated advanced brain made it to complicated and took into account to many parameters....

Its good to be dumb once in a while ya know... :)

I think you're dealing with someone who is actually retarded. Any sensible person would have given up already.

And I think that's the first time I've ever seen or heard the word tosspot in any form of communication! :lol:

Even then, it's:

Phalanges attack: 3,000 points.
Clubswingers defence: 4,000 points.

So the clubswingers should lose nothing at all, yet they lose 78 men...



At least Stormbunghole is forcing me to make improvements just to spend my resources... :D

no......

you see, 4000-3000=1000points. and tat is what you're left with if your clubswingers. 1000 defence points should be around 50 clubbers left.

I ran a normal attack(raid isn't accurate) with 3 thunders and 54 clubswingers.
points are, thunders 270, clubswingers also 270.

results are 3 thunders dead and 50 clubbers dead. quite accurate I say(defenders get a little bonus i guess) Im using plus version of the simulator tho(10 days trial :sly: )

its same like a big suv banging into a smaller car. although the suv wins, its gonna have some damage as well.

Combined attacking points of phalanges = 3,000
Combined defending points of clubswingers = 4,000

That's a difference of 1,000 in favour of the defending clubswingers. So the phalanges should inflict no damage whatsoever on the clubswingers, since their combined attack wasn't good enough to penetrate the combined defence of the clubswingers. Yet the clubswingers lose 78 men.

I mean 1 way in terms of attacking units you take into account ONLY the attacking points and defending vice versa. You do not add up the attacking and defending points together.

Even if the clubbers have a higher combined defending points than the phalanxes doesn't mean they cannot be penetrated. Yes, the clubbers will win, but still with casualties.


another example, attackers 2000 points. defenders 3000 points.
results should be, attackers completely wiped out and defenders left with 3000-2000=1000 points worth of troops left. so if its clubbers, 1000points means roughly 50 men left. (for normal attacks where the weakest is wiped out). I dunno about raids tho. Maybe 50% max casualties?

no clue what I'm doing... will read through a bit of this thread... is it just me or are the FAQ's not very helpful...?? :confused:
 
2 settlers now, courtesy of my farms. Third one will be arriving sometime tomorrow. :D

EDIT: No the FAQ's are not helpful. I created a Getting Started Guide, but it's on the other forum, which is currently done.

To start out view the tutorial on the game homepage. For the first week or so you've got newbie protection, during this time it's best to focus on upgrading your resources.

Welcome aboard. It seems slow at first, but it picks up, I wish it went a bit slower actually.:sick:

I just joined up and it looks pretty cool. I need to know, how do I change my village name? also, how do i join the GTP alliance once i've built my embassy?

Farming Guide


Too many resources:

A few members have devised assistants to help figure out when upgrades will be available based on production and current stock, ask around they're quite helpful, you can calculate how long until you have the required resources to upgrade, come back then and buy it.


I keep getting raided at night when I'm asleep:

You need to calculate 66% of your current cranny (crannies) level capacity. Do not allow your stock to be larger than this value. If the required amount to upgrade is larger than this amount, you need to upgrade your cranny. Better to spend the resources on your cranny than give them to Alarich, witti, or Waltharius. The calculator I use tells me how much I will produce for a given number of hours away (sleeping) if this is greater than my cranny I know I'm at risk.

As a general rule you should always try to check your resources when you wake up to spend what you've accrued through the night. This should give you a few hours at least. Similarly, you SHOULD ALWAYS TRY TO DRAIN YOUR STOCK DOWN TO ZERO BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEP. If your stocks are entirely protected by your cranny there is no reason to worry. How can you complain about constantly being farmed if you're allowing yourself to be by having 200 of each resource over your cranny capacity => you need to spend more or upgrade your cranny to the appropriate level.

Farming hurts us all, and discredits the alliance as something not to be messed with, and strong players help us make powerful allies, in addition to allowing you the freedom to spend your resources, rather than lose them 2-3 times a day.

If you are going to be attacked. Please spend the resources that don't fit on your cranny, or send them to somebody until after the attack.
Send your troops away if you are going to be attacked, so you don't risk losing them.

I'll try to do this without pics, but I fear that might not work well, give me feedback below please.

Once you're in the game you'll see places to click all over the place. Relax. Let's go through them briefly.

At the very top of your screen you'll see 6 (really 7) buttons. From left to right they are:
Your resource field
Your Village
Map
Statistics
Reports/In-game Messaging (IGM)

As a new player you have 7-9 days of newbie protection, if you want to know exactly when it expires ask a member to try to attack you. During this period you need not worry about being attacked and as such need not worry about protecting resources with a cranny yet.

Under the buttons you'll see the different kinds of resources wood, clay, iron, crops, and food usage.

This tells you how much you currently have over the capacity. The tells you how much food you are using per hour / how much food you produce per hour. Every unit, resource (except food and low-level crannies), and builidng uses a certain amount of food/hour.

You can begin the game by clicking on the button that brings up the resource fields. You should see 4 brown clay pits, 4 green woodchoppers, 4 grey iron mines, 6 yellow crop fields and your village in the centre. Your net production is listed on the right. Clicking on a hexagon will bring up that resource, here it tells you how much your production will increase and the cost of upgrading.

You can only upgrade 1 resource hexagon at a time (if you're a Roman you can also build a building during this time, other tribes cannot). It's a good idea to not only keep your production levels around the same (i.e. between iron, clay, etc.) but also amongst resource fields (i.e. having 3 level 2 fields and 1 level 1 one, rather than one level 4 and 3 level 0, at least for now).

The game itself provides a brief overview of what each building does here.

As we stated earlier you cannot be attacked yet, so building defensive or aggressive buildings, or even a warehouse, or granary is a waste of resources. I recommend you spend this first week building up your resource production.

How do the settlers work? I notice there are no requirements to creating them, but how exactly do you create them?

I assume my village isn't large enough to do it anyway, I'm just curious.
 
Build a lvl 10 residence or palace and you can create settlers, once you've built 3, you can send them (with 600 of each resource) to any vacant square on the map to begin your next village. JPMontoya already has a second village, I'll have one early tomorrow (or later today). The second village is just like beginning again, only you can support your second village with resources.

Also note that not all the vacant squares are the same, some have more iron, or crops, etc. at the expense of another resource.
 
I can't seem to get the activation code.

I've turned off the spam guard and made sure I had the right email adress entered, but I still can't get the code.

Geez, this is frustrating :ouch:

the game uses the email-adress so that 1 player can't create 2 accounts i think.
If you have an hotmail account, try using that one.
