I hate when people use it, I even left an online event today because the host was going to allow it. That being said, everyone else paid $60 just like I did and they can do what they want.

Did I leave the game because of the host allowing it?

Yes.

Did I get mad?

No. There's no reason to.

Get over it.

how about this...

a hardcore trophy that you get for completing all license tests gold with no assists (no abs no tcs etc).

don't worry about the other trophies.

By the way how do you drive with SRF off? I tried turning it off on my Minolta and Zonda but now they handle as if they were on ice :ouch:

By the way, if you really want your friends to know what an amazing driver you are, you could get out there and ACTUALLY race. Do track days, time trials, autocross, gymkhana, what have you - but get out there and really show 'em your skills.

just out of curiosity... why'd you leave?

i mean, i get that Skid Recovery Force more or less "magicly" finds traction when there is none unless the loss of control is really severe... but why would you leave the room if the host is allowing it?

i'm assuming here, but since you don't like Skid Recovery Force my guess is you're pretty good without it. and let's say, just for arguement's sake, that i'm not. and we find ourselves in the same race lobby.

with SKR turned to "off" by the host, i'm going to be little or no competition for you.
with it set to "on", i have the option of turning SKR on for myself... which would then make me more competitive.

the former situation, you would win easily but wouldn't get near as much satisfaction out of it because it's basicly a no-contest. the latter, however, provides you with a more thrilling race because i would be able to keep up with you.

it just seems to me that a person using the Skid Recovery assist would provide a level of competition you likely wouldn't have otherwise.

online multiplayer, as i understand it, is more fun if there's a higher number of competitive matches.
that's why the CoD games are so successful. the playing field is level, so more people get a higher level of enjoyment out of it, extending the life of the online multiplayer part of the game.

SRF is so a big difference that when I am online, when I drive without it, all the people is better than me. And when I enter an online lobby with it restricted, then i fell that I am more competitive, not the best, but not the last.

I think SRF is completely unfair. For me it's not an option, it is a different mode, and it should be treated as it. Maybe with differents lobbys?

Agree with the Hardcore Throphy or Iron-Man Trophy or whatever, even without regards neither in cars, nor in cr or exp

Yeah, and I don't value those trophies at all. I wish ALL the trophies were just about skill.

Now you also want to dictate what existing trophies should matter for PS3 games?

Sony never said trophies are strictly for celebrating 'driving skill'. As someone said, you get trophies for taking pictures - heck there's even one for adding your own custom soundtrack. You can't then turn around and say "these aren't real achievements because I don't like them."

Take them for what they are and just have fun with your game. These things will matter less to you in time.

It's just that I really spend a lot of time testing and tuning my cars because I don't use the assists, and to race with skid recovery on is a waste of my time and efforts put into that. Yes, I know what you mean. I'll be behind someone who either hasn't set up their car yet, or has done a poor job of it, and the car is all over the place when I know it doesn't have to be. And maybe they're a decent driver otherwise, and maybe skid recovery would make the race more competitive, but I'd rather have a competitive race against people who are really driving to the car and not in an arcade style.

And so mainly I don't choose to race in those events because I think the racing is unrealistic (yes, it's a game I know, but a simulator at that). Honestly, they may or may not stand any more chance against me because with skid recovery on you can take turns so ridiculously fast, and win or lose I just don't like the way those races look or feel. It's just a personal preference. I prefer racing against like-minded gamers.

And so again, that's why I don't get mad though. I know it's my choice, and they paid for the same game, so they are fine to do whatever they want. In certain situations with friends, etc., I'll race with assists on if that's what everyone's doing, but otherwise I enjoy racing so much more without them on, and when the other drivers aren't using them either. If the track is challenging, it's challenging. Assists ruin that key part of the game, IMO.

Wow...am I on the Call Of Duty forums? "ZOMG, trophaies showz maih skillz yo. Skeed revcovary showz youz a nubzz."

Seriously, GET OVER IT. Little 2cm tall bronze trophy you get for completing a license doesn't show you have "skill".

And why do people even talk about "skills" in a VIDEO GAME? All it is is pushing buttons, or turning a wheel and pushing a pressure-sensitive button called a pedal.

Get over it, if completing an event with skid recovery on is more fun than spinning out constantly, then I think I'd rather have fun.
/thread. Done. Kaput. Over with. LOCK.

And I really don't understand that. I think the moderator just disagreed with me, and thats not very democratic.

Firstly, the moderator told you why he locked the thread and it had nothing to do with disagreeing with you:

I fail to see a reason to keep this thread open. There's plenty of other threads to whinge about certain aspects of the game, and this one has already degenerated into a few AUP violations.

Second, this is not a democracy. If you didn't like the reasons your thread was locked, discuss it with the staff. Don't go right ahead and make the exact same thread again.

And for that reason, this thread is also locked:
