Hmm... its a driving simulator ? driving aids exist in real life.

I don't get your point.

It says "help beginner..." when you feel like your not a beginner anymore you turn it off. thats it, thats all.

I cant see how taking photos of stuff shows your "skill" in the game, or going over 300/400km/h shows "skill" but ok.

Why does it bother you if other people use SRF anyway? Noone is forcing you too, and im sure it doesnt affect you if someone does.

Basically, I want my friends to know that I did it the hard way, so they know I'm an amazing driver. You can come back with all the insults under the sun for that one, and I know what you mean. It's pretty silly to care about reputations about a videogame, but hey.

So basically for your ego?
Why don't you just race online?

Yeah, and I don't value those trophies at all. I wish ALL the trophies were just about skill.

Why don't they just add a sticker to your back window.

I use skid recovery force. Right next to your my other cars a skyline sticker.

I will do soon, but at the moment I'm just trying to complete the game and unlock all the cars that I want.

And then you can show your friends and everybody else that you are an amazing driver. Case closed:)

Don't rush it, have fun ;)
You'll be forced to grind for money and XP before you know it :grumpy:

I have skid recovery (ESP) in my real life car, why should i not have it in a simulator?

I never insulted you, and if you thought i did in any part of my post, i apologise, it was certainly not meant in that light. If you want your friends to know you're an amazing driver, why dont you do some of the TT leaderboards, and compare quickest laptimes with them there? That way you can gauge yourself v your friends.

Hey, its cool, I know you didn't. I just knew that I was setting myself up for everyone to come back with loads of stuff about how I'm so lame for caring about what people think of me and all that. And tbh, they would be right. But this is the whole point of trophies. If someone knows that a trophy is very hard to get, and you have it, then they think "I have to get that one now, or it means he's better at this game than I am". It adds more fun to the game I think. And yeah, I know what you mean about laptime leaderboards, and I can't wait til they put that in there, as long as it has a "friends only" filter. When they do that then I guess I probably wont care so much about trophies any more.

I never had Skill Recovery on since I always thought driving aids slow you down like in other games. I wouldn't have known that it'll make you faster if it wasn't for the numerous threads about it lately... thanks! :dopey:

lol, no worries. As long as my friends don't know then its cool. ;)

They could take the trophies out for all I care. I don't play games to impress my friends I do it for fun. I use TC even on car I know never had it and I don't feel bad.

Otherwise the trophies in this game are worthless.
LOL Trophies are worthless as in there is no value to them at all and it has nothing to do with assists being on or off. Who cares if someone uses skid recovery or ASM or ABS or the driving line? If you don't want to use them then don't and if you do then do but don't whine about what other people do. Seems that the real problem is most likely someone is faster than you and you don't like it yet you have the option to use the same method if you want and if not then who cares.

I don't think the assists matter too much for the trophies. I had skid recovery on, and still managed to roll my Dodge Ram and get the Rollover trophy.

... Polyphony can decide to change it or not based on how many people want the idea implemented. I thought thats the whole point of forums like this.

And if a majority of people want ABS not used or TC not used, the developers should turn trophies off for that as well? Enjoy your "game" as you see fit and the rest us us will do the same. Thank you.

I don't get these kinds of "eletistic" threads.
If more people can enjoy the game, we all should be happy? No? You can take pride in not using any form of assists, that's fine, but to mock down on others that's not able to do it isn't. And that's my opinion, not fact.

Thats your opinion, but I think most would disagree with you on that.
I don't know what community you think this is but as far as I can say most of the users here have always been a-okay with allowing people to enjoy the game as they see fit.

this is the dumbest idea i've read about this game.

you don't want your friends to think you got a Trophy with Skid Recovery Force turn on?
i'd bet that the vast majority of people simply don't care whether you have it on or not.

and to be honest, i'd doubt that very many people even give enough of a smurf to look and see what trophies you have and don't have, let alone ponder over whether it was done with or without Skid Recovery.

Agreed.

And to the OP, why do you care how others play their game? Easy vs Hard, Standard vs Simulation. What does it matter? The game is made to be played by all, not by the racing elite.

The funny thing is you probably use it yourself, but want feel like a big guy on campus and shun others that use it. Its a game, go play it and stop worrying about others.

Everyone knows turning off skid recovery is how you impress the ladies when you talk about how you sat in front of your PS3 for 24 hours. :)

I would have thought the best way to amaze your mates with your driving would be to get a real racing license and buy a race car...

...Really now? It's SRF is just there for people who want to use it. If you choose to use it, then that's great. If you don't...that's great as well.

Let people play the games the way they want to.

Just like to mention to the non-SRF elitists, you've been forced to use it during the license tests the whole time. By your logic, you ought to erase your GT5 trophies and toss your PS3 to the nearest dumpster to hide your shame for using such an assist in your virtual car.

For crying out loud, just enjoy the game.
