Here we go again...
It's no Hurricane Ivan, but supposedly, Jeanne will pack a lot of rain. We're due for a hit to the South Florida area in the next few hours. Howver, as of 5pm, we are getting just a little rain and some wind.
I actually hadn't changed a thing since Frances struck, and was well prepared for Ivan. I offered to come to work yesterday and today, to move cars, and actually nominate valets to deliver cars to their respective owners. (Just ask for a credit card number, and you're set!)
Of course, we'd had a few that wanted us to top-off thier fuel tanks; unfortunately, we were all out of gas in the area, and had to close up work around 12pm. So we had to say no to their silly requests for once!
Kathy and I put up the last shutter, took down the satellite dish, and so we're bracing ourselves for the worst Jeanne can do. Which hoefully isn't much. It's quiet outside, save the rain drops. The wind howls along our un-aerodynamic home. It's dark everywhere but the small window on the front door. And we're packed with more "shelf-stable" food, water, batteries, tools, walkie-talkies, a hand-held radio, and a 13" TV with "rabbit ear" antennas.
Wish us luck. We're tropically depressed.
