Hey everyone, I'm trying to get the Spoon Civic and I know you have to beat the FF challenge in Professional league, but I can't seem to get an FF car worth a damn. Maybe it's just me but I can't get the bloody things to turn much at all. I have tried with an Integra Type R, a Civic Typr R, and even the Xsara Rally car, which is not that great by the way. I have fully modified all of these cars and it doesn't seem to do a whole lot to help the turning problem. Please help, any advice would be appreciated greatly!

Of course it's not helping with the "turning problem" - just stuffing more power through the front wheels will exacerbate the understeer.

This championship is easily beatable using a fully-tuned (178hp) Mini Cooper. There's many, many threads on the Professional FF series, but none will come up in a search as "FF" is too short a search term. But just scan through the most recent couple of pages in this forum - I recall talking about it only the other day.

I think maybe more practice is needed. I am no fantastic racer but I used the Xara and was well over a lap ahead of the competition at the end of each race.

Dude, don't just floor it at the apex, wait until you see the straight until you gas it. You also might need to get totally off the gas throught the whole corner, depending on how slow it is.

i used a tuned integra Type R

like the said don't floor it in the turn

if the TCS light is blinking.. then u're gonna go straight into the wall

a good technique to try.. is don't downshift in the corner.. that way u'll keep the revs low and can still press the gas... then down shift on teh exit

or just blip the throttle in pulses as u go through the turns

I don't see how you couldn't win with the Xsara, it is head and shoulders above the other cars. As Dquan said, I was nearly a lap ahead at the end of the race. Just keep trying with the Xsara, trying to limit understeer and finding the best lines and I am sure you will get the hang of it.

As all the other posters say, any decent FF car will do. I used the Toyota Celica TRD ( bonus car ).
Don't accelerate too early at the curve exit and don't load the front brakes too much ( I' sorry to repeat what the other mentioned ).
Practice, practice and practice ( maybe I should make that my signature ). You can do it.

Thanks a lot for your advice, everyone. I guess the only real sure-fire way to beat this is to keep trying. But I guess I get easily distracted and wander off to different races that I have more fun participating in. I love how all those guys on the roads with their Integra Type Rs and lawn-mower exhaust tips actually drive some of the worst handling cars in all of GT3. Kind of makes you laugh, eh?

I've win it with my Type R Teg with some seeting :)
seeting? You mean Settings?

So you've won it with a Honda Integra Type R 98 Spec or Acura Integra Type R with some settings.. Uh... Thats explains alot.

Ummm, no I'm not kidding. The car is a nightmare to turn, and if you're unlucky enough to draw the Spoon Civic itself as one of your competitors, you have absolutely no chance, and should just go buy some more window decals for that Integra instead of trying to win a race with it.

ur experience is based on GT3 using a Stage 3 turbo charged version blah blah

or in real life actually having driven one

cuz i see many holding their own very well in AutoX in real life... car is very well balanced...

but u can't drive an FF like an FR and expect it to drive well

ah it doesnt have bad handling, you just have to be a DECENT racer to turn it. the cup isnt that hard so dont come in here and rip on the type R just because you arent experienced enough to win. i can win that cup with pretty much any FF car in the game, so just keep practicing, slow down on corners and you should do just fine.

Like others said: practice. I used a stock (non extra tuned) Xsara in FF pro and I won those 3 races without much problems. But then again: I use stock cars in almost all races in GT3.

The Spoon Civic is also a fine car. I used the stock Spoon Civic in the Passage to Colloseo Endurance and I won that race. Accidentely the Griffith didn't enter that race, so my only big opponent was the Clio.

Okay, here we go. I am saying that the Integra Type R is one of the worst cars IN GRAN TURISMO 3 A-APEC, and those who defend it in real life can do so, I have never driven one and never will. I hate the persona that goes with that car, as well as the manner in which nearly 100% of the people who own them (100% MALES, incidentally) drive them. If I have to deal with one more lame-o tailgating me on the highway and then weaving in and out of lanes without using his turn signal (obviously not having read the disclaimer at the beginning of GT3), all the while letting me have the pleasure of listening to his garbage music thumping away with the bass turned way up so it rattles my windshield and rearview mirror, and mixing this audial melody with an overpowering hint of cheap muffler tip exhaust note, I might snap right there in my car and go crazy on him, a la Michael Douglas in Falling Down . People who buy stock Hondas and drive them like they think they're race cars should be stripped of their licenses. A brand new set of rims on a canary yellow Integra does not a race car make. Cut. Print. That's a wrap.

Everyone who loves this car in reality needs to relax just a little and acknowledge that it, along with all other FF cars, suck rocks big time in GT3, and will never be as fun to drive or offer the same excitement as the other cars. For all those who savvy themselves FF experts, congratulations and my hat's off and all that jazz. I hate FF cars, I hate the FF Challenge, and I HATE THE INTEGRA TYPE R.

By the way I finally beat the Professional Challenge with the Xsara and a little more fiddling around with the tuning. Thanks to everyone who helped out and offered some advice instead of getting all defensive about a piece of Honda trash of which there are about 2 million too many examples on our North American streets today.

maybe you should like leave or just not be so rude, the integra is a great car on gt3 but you need some experience to drive it. and as for the honda with a muffler tip and garbage music, who stuck up for those, let them drive what they want but just because i say the teg is a good car dont assume that i fall into that category. i wasnt being any more rude then you were saying the car sucked, its an easy cup so dont whine about it.

Why you hate honda so much?? cause my friend bro is driving a JDM integra type R and I think it's an ok car even though it's an FF

*sniff* *sniff* whats that? The strong wafting odor of SUCK with a big whiff of DUMB?

You keep revving and revving but it just wont oversteer? I feel for you bro. What you need is more horsepower and to keep the pedal down.

Or... if you ever get tired of that you could take a 200 hp FF to the race and learn to drive.

Slow down early and touch the outside curb. Turn in and aim for the inside curb. GENTLY apply the gas to pull through the corner (to the outside curb). If you aren't turning fast enough you are using too much gas.

When you see those civics and accords and rsxs do you ever wonder what those R's and S's stand for?

Are you even old enough to drive?

I was pretty harsh so i added an explanation of cornering just incase hes a comlete nUb.

When you know how to do it FF's are decent. I can make it around the track in the Celica TRD with 425 HP and sims. You can overcome understeer with technique.

Im going to go see if i can beat a 425 HP FR of the same weight right now... I'll get back.

Not exactly scientific because i have used the TRD Celica alot and my brother had no practice with his car. But both had the same weight and HP and I absolutely OWNED him. 2 laps on trial mountain, speed 6 slight edge off the line but i blow past coming out of the first turn and never look back. 7 second lead stretched to 15 after he looses control.

I was hoping he wouldnt loose it so we raced again this time on Midfield. Im even further ahead after 1 lap and he spins trying to catch up. i win by 25 seconds after 2 laps. Usually we are evenly matched, it sucks he couldnt give me 2 clean laps with 2 attempts :grumpy:

Still, it is obvious that up to its limits FF stacks up.

yeah, i beat my brother he used a tuscan speed 12 and i used a spoon s2000, we normally are about evenly matched, it just all depends on the cars handling and such, if i dnot make sense im sorry, im very tired

thank u both of u...

for laying down the facts...

i might as well start complaining the Tuscan speed 12 oversteers too much I hate that car WAhh waahhh...

Grow up!

and if u're getting tail gated.. that means u're supposed to move over and let him pass so u can keep puttering along

like Wellryn said Type R means RACING

so basically a small coupe with 200+ horses thumping under the hood sway bars, helical LSD, lowered stance, stiff springs does qualify as a Sporty car... wouldn't u think?

like the guys said.. either put up or shut up... learn to drive or stop crying...

As for all FF cars "sucking rocks" u ever heard of a Mini Cooper S works..
i've driven one... supercharged 1.6ltr... well over 200 hp
the thing handles better then a Go Kart!!
maybe u should go do your homework before turning an entire class of cars down...

in case u didn't know... an FF car puts 5-10% more power to the groudn then a FR car...
