Tsukuba lap times for 136 N-class cars - 1 remaining

Fastest time is 59.948 in USA. The lap is impressive, but Turn 3 was dirty and should have resulted in a penalty. Something I've been wondering about is the green run-off just before the Start/Finish line. Is it legal to use the entirety of it? In the video in the 2nd post of this thread, the driver does not use it at all, and neither do I, but GT Sport does not penalize putting all 4 tires over the curbing.

Anyway, tested the Ford Mustang GT Premium Fastback. Can't wait to test the Camaro SS tomorrow or Tuesday.

it should be legal. i don't think it's actually any faster to use it though i've seen fast laps done that use it, it's grippier than the tarmac and probably slower but it saves cars that are tending to go wide

It seems that by intentionally aiming for the outer edge of the runoff instead of the inner edge of the curbing, you can get on the gas sooner in the last corner, giving you a time/speed advantage at the start of the next lap into Turn 1. Regardless, I'm not re-testing every car to use it.

I updated my spreadsheet. I found that the Mustang Mach 1 has no time for Suzuka, displacement in [cc] and no torque in [unit]. except from these fields all the information for cars in N100, N200 and N300 are available

Yeah, no matter what limits you're enforcing to yourself, the important thing is to have consistent rules for your runs. Real life is irrelevant because physics / air and track temperatures / tyre pressures / probability of semi-slicks or specific engine map or both (those strategies have been used in the past by manufacturers to set better lap times on the Ring for bragging rights purposes)

35 miles in the Camaro SS and the best I could do is 1:04.5xx

The car is a nightmare for me tonight. I don't like the way it goes around corners.

Also tested Porsche 911 GT3 RS (991) which ties the GT-R Nismo.
Wow, so an n200 car is only half a second slower than an n500 car. Ouch .

And yes the x-bow is a lot faster but honestly I dont count it :P

I just put 55 miles on the Lamborghini Countach LP400. I was stuck at 1:04.0xx for 20 or 30 miles and finally, FINALLY, got a 1:03.9xx and I can't believe it. Tied with the Corvette C7.

I think I need to go outside for some fresh air after that one...

Edit: I didn't go outside, but I did open the screen door...

Tested Ferrari 512 BB and it's almost a full second slower than the Countach.

Last two for today:

BMW M4 Coupe
Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4

The M4 beats the C7 Corvette by a tenth, and the Huracan is two tenths faster than the McLaren F1. 4WD really helps with all these hairpins. High-powered rear-drive cars are too sketchy, while in a 4WD you can be reckless and not worry too much about having a spin.

Hi everyone. I've been neglecting GTS for a week because I've been feeling the need to give it a break. I started an RPG that I haven't played in nearly 20 years called Breath of Fire 3 and I'm around 10 hours into it. This Saturday, my gf and I are flying to Orlando for vacation away from work for 5 days. So I likely won't test any more cars for another two weeks, though I may test one or two today since it's my day off, between BoF3 and other stuff I have to do.

Honestly man, we love what you do but don't feel pressured to do it. Its not your job or anything!:cheers:

Take a break if you have to.

Tested two cars tonight before going on vacation tomorrow.

1:01.910 - McLaren MP4-12C
1:02.020 - Ferrari 458 Italia

Basically dead-even. With more laps, the Ferrari could easily be a 1:01 car, but I can't make it happen tonight :(

Seeing F40 being faster than MP4-12C is shocking tbh! Explained somehow by F40's racing setup (it is a Group B racecar under the covers after all) and less weight being 100HP down on power, but it's extraordinary thinking the 30 years of time between them.

GTS used the dry weight of 1,100 kg or 2,425 lbs for the F40. I'm seeing around 2,700 lbs wet for the Euro spec and 3,000 lbs wet for USA.

Tested:

1:03.350 - Dodge Viper GTS '02

The '92 RT/10 and especially '96 GTS were my favorite dream cars as a kid. I was 12 in 1996. What a great year that was. Super Mario 64 came out. Sigh. Am I old? I feel old :/

Regardless, this car still holds up amazingly today. It's over half a second quicker than the C7 Corvette, and 4 tenths behind the Shelby Cobra 427 which could be considered its predecessor despite having 2 fewer cylinders.

Tested:

0:59.905 - Lamborghini Veneno
1:04.640 - Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

Veneno and Veyron tie with 59.9 second laps. We'll soon see if anything can beat them.

Hellcat is trash. It doesn't even feel like 700 horsepower in a straight line, which is what this car is supposed to excel at. It takes forever to slow down, exhibits horrible understeer on turn-in while braking, and loses traction constantly. It's a tenth of a second slower than the Camaro SS. I hope we get the all-wheel drive, 840 horsepower SRT Demon in a future update.

Tested:

1:01.525 - McLaren 650S Coupe
1:01.664 - Nissan GT-R Premium Edition

The "base" GT-R is only 2 tenths slower than the Nismo version. That seems odd, but at Suzuka the difference was also a rather negligible 4 tenths. Seems the Nismo isn't really worth the extra cash.

The 650S is 7 tenths behind the F1 but 4 tenths ahead of the MP4-12C. It's also only 1 tenth off the heels of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

Something that (only just) manages to dethrone the Bugatti Veyron, nice.

I bet the LaFerrari will make easy work of the Veneno and Veyron when you get around to that, though...

I have to disagree on this one. If you drive the two cars back to back you will notice major differences in handling characteristics and sound. Where the "base" GT-R has a tendency to understeer and muffling all the sounds of the turbos, wastegates and transmission away, the NISMO doesn't. That makes the NISMO way more compelling to drive.

In real life, the Nismo costs $65,000 USD more than the Premium. I'm too practical to throw that money away for 2 tenths of a second and the "Nismo" bragging rights. But I will re-test it tonight if I have the energy and will report if I change my mind.

Well, I put 50 miles on the GT-R Nismo tonight, and I was only able to beat my old time by 0.180 seconds. So that makes it 4 tenths faster than the GT-R Premium Edition. I actually prefer how the regular GT-R handles. The Nismo doesn't feel as balanced. But it is nearly as fast as the McLaren F1

Tested:

1:02.090 - Ford GT

I put 30 miles on the car, the last 10 were spent trying to beat this best time.

Another 1:02.0 car. That makes 3 so far. Check the difference between these N600 cars:

1:01.910 - McLaren MP4-12C
1:01.998 - Dodge Viper GTS
1:02.020 - Ferrari 458 Italia
1:02.090 - Ford GT
1:02.092 - Honda NSX

Edit: Tested:

1:02.903 - Aston Martin DB11

What a turd. It has gobs of power, but weighs too much. It's at the bottom of the N600 class. I wonder if the Jaguar F-type R can beat it...

1:02.512 - Lamborghini Diablo GT

Just under 1.5 seconds faster than the Countach LP400. The Ferrari 458 Italia is only half a second quicker.

Tested:

1:01.170 - Ferrari Enzo Ferrari

N700 is where rear-drive cars on Sport Hard tires become, well, annoying. Someday I'd like to see 1:00 in this car...As it stands, it's 2 tenths behind the McLaren F1 and 7 tenths faster than the F40.

So the Miura is 15 million credits. I doubt I'll have the patience to grind that much, so this list will unfortunately never be completed unless I win it :(

I hope to test at least the Fiat 500 and maybe Evo IV tonight.

Loving the new update! EVO IV brings back memories ;(

NISMO > Base GTR, true the NISMO is much more pleasing to drive with the extra audible notes and the driving characteristics make it a much more aggressive and enjoyable car.

My Tsukuba record for the NISMO is .59.509, only mods is the 102% power ratio, my OCD makes me cringe when seeing the HP under 600

Tested:

1:39.384 - Fiat 500 F

I spent 37 minutes, 28.7 miles, 22 laps, to achieve this lap time. Someone out there might be able to do 1:38 if they nail the corners perfectly. Every fraction of a mph (or kph) counts in a car that could only muster 55 mph before the braking zone for Turn 1.

1:07.594 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV GSR

A tenth faster than the MR2 GT-S.

Correct but If you play the game properly you might win Miura randomly. ;)

For some reason or another, I only find enjoyment in racing against myself. The credit payout for time trials isn't as high as it should be :(

That Nismo lap time is insane. I can't even do 1 minute, let alone 59 seconds. As for Evo IV, I agree. It's my favorite Evo in terms of exterior styling.
