TT 35: Laguna Seca (SUSPENDED) & Chamonix West. [Post 1 for tunes!]

Let me just say something here. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. If you know something is wrong to do, why follow that person doing the wrong thing. Be a leader of doing the right thing. You will gain much more respect from your peers. I don't know who started cutting that corner at Chamonix, but someone followed that move and that is where the real problem began, by the followers. You see, had everyone just ran the tt clean and not followed what the one corner cutter was doing, we wouldn't have this epidemic. It would just be that one person with a "dirty lap" and then the rest of us could take pride in our clean lap times. Its much easier to discredit one persons "dirty lap" time as opposed to several. So, in the end, it is the followers that are creating the real problem here, not so much the single person that starts it. Let that one person suffer the disrespect that comes from running "dirty laps", don't follow him down that road of shame. Let him stand alone on that podium. Peace.

Currently in 3rd at Laguna with a 1:35.867. Here's what I did:

Buy a brand new Evo X from Premium dealership. DO NOT DO AN OIL CHANGE.

(...)

I'm no pro at tuning but this setup works for me, although I'll probably continue to make a few tweeks.

Hi,

New member, first post, wanted to say thanks for sharing your setup and ask a simple question:

How the hell can you guys be driving 1'35"xx laps?!
Just managed to barely drop below 1'40", and I'm still trying to find out how I did it!

Jeez... serious respect. :)

Nice lap Mac,

If you really want to go faster, you must understand some racing theory.

I only started playing in 2010, but this article & others helped me understand what exactly I was trying to do when I go round the track.
GPL Foolishness
I know this is on GPL, but the principles are the same.
Helped me go from ~50th to 3rd in the last week of GTA.

I also feel that learning just one time trial really really really well, you will learn more than doing loads of TT's with just half effort.

I would compare it to learning how to play a musical instrument.

Good point - in an ideal world maybe so.

Reminds me of this:

Thanks, I will certainly read it. :)

Seems like some of you would do well to pull your sense of humour out of your asses. It will make the "unfair" aspects of the world more manageable, and that's probably an uncomfortable place to keep anything, regardless.

Anyway...

Thanks Dazmeister22, for the great tune. I'm usually happy to make the top 5000 in a TT, but now (for the first time ever) I've made the top 200. Currently sitting at 134 with a 1:37.110.

Took a Tommi edition EVO to 500pp and got gold in the 2nd try at Laguna, then just fit snow tires and won the snow event on the 3rd try (kept hitting a bank on the first two).

Hi
I see a beautiful band of jealous on this forum
I say yours is that I never cheat in Chamonix is the Japanese who cheated from day one when I had my turn with no cut on the first day I went to not let it happen so easily ...
laguna seca and I would not benefit a bite try the first corner you will see before you speak in vain attempt

for you and even more disgusted I am in my lap 20 minutes on chamonix
and laguna seca 2 hours maximum
next time I would be a little less fun if you continue to say **** about me

You are right, everyone bashes you only because you were first on the list. Totally illogical and stupid.
and

Talk about finding a totally random car that no one knows about and realizing its the best car.
Elise 111R RM??

Mate, you´re fast no doubt about that, but on laguna if you don´t benefit why do you keep going by the cones? I can understan once, but everytime you go there. Do you think that is track? Look at the new GT Academy, 2-4 and you see that you can´t touch the cones.

And if you had join GTplanet sooner, you would see that nobody is jealous if someones is faster. That´s why you can see everybody discussing tunes and offering help. You can´t say that from other foruns, can you? :sly:

Peace 👍

That dirty oil trick really works, cheers.

Changed to the Evo 8 rs '03, and just over a tenth outside a 1'35 now :) should be able to get it hopefully with a tidyer lap.
Using a similar tune from dazmeister for the other Evo, seems to work well (I use the dpad though so have the car a little looser and more oversteery). Just playing around with abs, and bb settings - currently running 1 and 3/8.

wow... scary guy!! what you gonna do? run us over with one of your lawnmowers or squish us with a bumper car :sly:

Sorry Amo, but just because my 2 year old nephew picks his nose and eats it doesn't mean we should follow his example :dopey:

Let me just quote some stuff people have said to Amo

So congratulations Amo, you're the world's biggest cheat, #1

It's people like Amo that make the seasonals not as appealing anymore he will look for a cheat/shortcut in every combo he takes part in... If everyone copies him then it's pointless imo I agree
Amo is the number 1 cheat in the GT5 world

I feel sorry for Amo, that guy clearly has issues.
GTPL, what a disgrace.

I can't stand it when people exploit the physics of the game and blatantly cheat their way to the top. People who race like that deserve no credit or respect imo

I've got 2 words for them.... (but I'll keep them to myself)

The problem is within the player, not the game.
It's up to the player to choose if he's going to exploit or not and if he does so then it shows something about his personality, if he does it more times it's shows more and if he does it on almost every single TT (from what I've seen) then he clearly has issues. I don't care who he is, all I know he's not getting the respect from me.

Some of those were from you Mr P.
Then you are going to compare Amo to your 2 year old cousin???
How would you reply to that if people said that to you? Curious.

why do you keep going by the cones?
just because my 2 year old nephew picks his nose and eats it doesn't mean we should follow his example :dopey:
This isn't WRS guys, the point is people will drive in accordance with differant rules.
There is no reason for anyone who does these online TT's to drive to a differant specification than provided by PD?

Also Mr P, what is the relevance of nose picking?
If there was a competition between you and your son to clear their nose, I really wouldn't judge you or him if you used a tissue and he used his index.
I would judge solely on who cleared their nose to the highest standard.

We need to lighten up around here. :yuck:

So do you think PD watch 1st place runs and give a round of applause for finding the short cuts? I don't.

Ron you're wasting your time in here, some people just don't understand

I'm pretty sure he read it all already thanks for the refresher :dopey:

try to follow after mysteror you can open your big mouth you can do it yourself I noticed

do the same as me usualsuspect you will see that I gain nothing has bitten the first turn my path is like that is all I will not change because you are not happy

No one cares that you clipped a cone at the start of laguna, it's the blatant corner cutting and wall banging that you seem to enjoy doing on most combo's.

Anyway have fun with that, I'm done 👍

If they do watch, I think they all stare at the guy who modelled the track boundary.

We get just 2 TT's bi-weekly.
What can we do if there is a cut?
A) Give up/be disgusted
B) Do the cut, race the rest of the track

Remember there is nothing at stake here. Just some fun.
No reason to stop TT'ing because another player cuts.

or C) Remove their time and keep removing till they get the hint 👍
(maybe a report option within the game)

You happy now guys?
Nice to see Amo joined and got something to say 👍

I'm ecstatic... It's not everyday the worlds best GT exploiter honours us with his presence :dopey: 👍

We all have our own opinions and I will stick with mine thanks, That said I have said more than enough and will move on from this thread as it's like banging your head off a brick wall, Have fun racing
