Yeah, you just have to guess unless they fix it or somebody clever comes up with a better way. There is no "Top Speed" indicator like the one in the upper right of the tranny tuner in GT5. GT5, you'll recall, had two things called "Top Speed". This only has the one that was down below the "Final Gear."

I set to default (which you can do by switching to Standard tranny and then back to adjustible), set the Final Gear around half way, write down the number, turn the Top Speed as low as it'll go, the last gear as high as it'll go, then turn the Final Gear down as far as it'll go, then spread out the other gears how I want. Try car on longest straight and if red light never comes on in highest gear even as you're full speed flying off the track, or red light starts to blink in highest gear before you need to brake, I do whole process over, with Final Gear starting out lower if car isn't using all of last gear (or even getting to last gear), higher if car gets to top RPM too soon. Just remember to write down next to number you wrote above whether it was too high or too low.

Keep repeating until you zero in on right number. Just remember that by lowering the Final Gear in the last step you are raising that top "Top Speed" that doesn't show in GT6. So the higher you had it set in the first place the higher you will raise that number we cannot see.

This is my best I can figure to implement the last posted by praiano63's wonderful tranny setting system to get best acceleration. He hasn't got GT6 yet but when he does any day now will probably give much better instructions.
