Turbo Charging Lamborghinis & Ferraris

Because many of the racing cars in the game have turbo options. Even racing versions of road cars that you can't buy turbos for (like the NSX). It doesn't make any sense, but what in GT5 does?
Thanks for the responses, but you guys are really just stating the obvious. I guess I'm not being clear here.
Try this:
They don't allow turbos on any of the other Ferraris except the F40, which makes sence as this is the only Ferarri in GT5 that was specced with a turbocharger. This was an aspect of the game that I appreciated. I would never consider a T/C on my F2007/Enzo/Italia/California etc. The P4 never had a turbo so why is it the only deviation amongst the F-cars? Why stop there? Might as well bolt some NOS on my F2007 while we're at it...👎

Oh. So what you are saying is that you are happy that certain cars cannot be modified in certain ways in GT5 even when there is no reason that they couldn't be in real life, and you are angry that you do have the option on a specific car because in your mind merely having that option somehow ruins the car or some sensationalist nonsense like that.
In essence, complaining because you have more options rather than complaining because you don't have enough.

It's certainly an interesting way of looking at things, I suppose.

None of the above. Still missing my point entirely. Not sure why I bothered. I'm old enough to remember watching actual P4s race against GT40s at Sebring & LeMans. A turbo would have come in handy back then, but was N/A.

So do you like the turbo or not? You don't have to buy it anyways.

I think the whole point was that it is strange that a car that isn't known for being turbo'd can get one while none of the other Ferraris in the game, sans the F40, can have the modification applied.

Strange, but not the strangest thing in Turismo. I always thought they restricted turbo options to cars that aren't high compression, high rpm screamers, but getting a turbo on my 11k rpm 2.3 liter Mazda6 race car confused the he'll out of me.

I didn't purchase it as it's not necessary. The stock P4 will beat any other GT in all events except Indy/LTW.

bingo! That's my point! Thanks.

A good point at that! 👍

Even though it would be completely unnecessary, I've always been a little sad that PD won't let us create 1200hp monster Italian supercars. Even if only for a few minutes of entertainment.

Is it just me....or do you have to put down/discriminate/belittle everyone else when they are just either trying to help or ask for help?

Definitely not just you. Just another troll on the interwebs.

If he could've added a turbo to his P4 in 1967, he would have.

Hmm, a non-sequitur that attempts to derail your own thread into a political discussion?

Before that escalates, let me just put a cap on the P4 Turbo discussion:
The P4 was a racing car where it will take every advantage it can. That includes a turbo, especially in the loosely regulated 1960's. However:
Turbocharging was not common until the 1970's because they posed reliability issues and the P4 was a mid engined car so cooling was an issue as well.
With the advent of intercoolers and wastegates, we can apply a modern turbo to a classic motor!
You can also argue that the P4 was an endurance racer so that a) you needed more reliability and b) that turbo charged cars tend to have better fuel economy.
In any case, Scuderia Ferrari have had many, many turbocharged cars so a turbo P4 fits in unfettered into their racing heritage.
In terms for GT5, you need the turbo to compete with the modern machines if you dare venture beyond single player events.

This^^^ is the only logic I can think of why PD would select this particular Ferrari over all the other Ferraris for a performance upgrade that did not exist for this car in 1967. They would have had to redesign the entire car as this is a very small & compact package with absolutely no room for all the plumbing necessary with turbocharging.
IMHO, a turbo on a P4 is as logical as nukes & Napoleon.

I can't imagine why you're obsessed with Napoleon+Nukes and P4+Turbo. Why does it bother you so much? I know it's not an issue of it being an anachronism so what is it?

obsessed, really? You seem to be having just as much an issue with my analogy, which is all it is, so easy does it. I've got to do some maintenance on my Mini Cooper. The dilithium crystals need to be changed on the plasma drive. ;)

Why can't we turbo charge any lambo or ferrari??? Imagine we could do that and bring it out for a top speed run on the new test track. Its gonna be awesome!

Why can we tune any "Lambo" or Ferrari?

These cars are so much more fun in stock form!

Probably because in real life it wouldn't be possible.

Indeed, PD really do their research..

I saw a couple of video on youtube where underground racing added twin turbo to 458italia, gallardo, murcielago.

Probably because in real life it wouldn't be possible.

There are lots of turbo Murcielago's and Gallardo's around. And as for Ferrari's, althought I haven't seen as many they also exist.

Probably because in real life it wouldn't be possible.

As far as cars go, close to anything can be possible with the right amount of money. Unless you were kidding and I missed the sarcasm.

Uh... wasn't the F40 a F.I. V8?

Probably because in real life it wouldn't be possible.

I'd be more liable to believe that to be a reason if you couldn't turbocharge the Ferrari P4, of all things.

It IS possible, and it is amazing and PD is seriously lacking content in the 1000hp area...

Underground Racing on youtube... Lambos, Ferraris...

Sacrilege!!! Sacrilege!!! Sacrilege!!!

If a vehicle has any form of air intake and exhaust, and runs on a liquid fossil fuel, it can be turbocharged.
