Turbo Charging Lamborghinis & Ferraris

Ferraris and Lamborghinis in the future are going to utilize turbos at some point. Can't keep making high revving v8s in the face of strictor and strictor emissions regulations.

Basically, ANY internal combustion engine can turbocharged. I designed, built, and tuned the entire turbo system on my real-life race car.

I'm guessing PD left it out for some cars in an attempt to keep certain aspects of the game balanced.

Yup, thats what I'm trying to say. We need more 1,000+ bhp cars! Either they allow us to turbo charged Lambo and Ferraris or at least they should bring back stage 4 turbo. Just like the good old days.

328 wasn't a turbo. The other 2 were though.

I like to keep my road cars stock as much as possible. I want my Ferrari to be a Ferrari and not turn it into a car that I've mucked about with.

They were made for special markets to avoid taxes on engines larger than 2.0L. It had a 2.0L V8.

This has nothing to do with the orginal brand of Ferrari / Lamborghini. If the brand would install a turbo off factory, then it has to be possible, else not.
So in the case of the examples above, im glad they're not possible.

Yes, that was the 208. The 328 had a normally aspirated 3.2litre V8. The 208 was made with a 2litre turbocharged engine to get round Italy's tax laws for cars with larger engines.

GTB Turbo was just the name they gave it to distinguish it from the 208 since the engine didn't change in size.

The 208 Turbo was built from 1982-1985, in 1986 they switched the turbo model over to the 328 platform.

They may have not called it a 328 GTB, but it was still based on the 328. They also didn't keep calling it the 208 GTB. Are they part of the same model lineup, yes. But they 328 based GTB was different than the 308 based GTB.

Not the case really, you can turbochage just about any vehicle >_> unless it's a Prius, God strikes you down if you turbocharge a Prius.

I imagine it is because the manufacturers asked Kaz not to put turbo options on their road cars.

And the Spoon cars as well.

If a vehicle has any form of air intake and exhaust, and runs on a liquid fossil fuel, it can be turbocharged.

Since natural gas and hydrogen aren't liquids, and alcohol and hydrogen aren't fossil fuels...

In a recent issue of Automobile Mag, an article about the Aventador read:

Since I hate awkward silences the way Italians hate Folgers crystals, I decide to kick things off by stirring the pot. I grab the mike ask, "Did you ever think about using turbochargers on the Aventador?" Winkelmann momentarily looks as if I'd suggested they build the frame out of Laffy Taffy. He then responds, to the effect of, "Turbo-chargers are for those who can't acheive their goals without them." I'm paraphrasing there, but clearly the Italians look at a car like the Porsche 911 GT2 RS as a four-wheeled Barry Bonds. Why not just use nitrous and booster rockets while you're at it?

The Italians want cars with a grunt, not a runt.

This thread is such an epic fail. Why are people still saying that it's impossible to turbocharge a car unless it came that way from the factory??? I'll say it again, you can turbocharge any internal combustion engine. /End
