There are aftermarket turbo kits for Ferrari's and Lamborghini's. A very famous company that does turbo kits for both manufacturers is Underground Racing. The machines they produce often have twin turbo setup for mile long drag events where they hit 200+mph in a mile.

I was also disappointed that you can't add turbo's to e46 M3's which is a very popular mod and often puts out high horsepower numbers sometimes hitting quad digits.

Also you can't add superchargers to the '08 M3's :(

you can ONLY turbo upgrade cars with turbo abilities... ferrari's laborghini's etc tend not be cars with a turbo (Know as N/A Naturally Aspirated) And these copaniesobviously have a copyright policy restricting this.

Its ore realistic instead of gt4 and going and slaing a turbo in EVERY car

Well it has two :sly:

The lancia stratos rally car has a ferrari engine that either has a turbo/turbos or can be fitted with them (I forget).
The sun has gone down here...I'm a little out of it.....

Dam :P guy in my town has one.. ITS FECKIN SWEEEEEEEET..... 1 of few in the u.k.... lives in a heated garage.. how sad :P

haha.. no honestly it has red carpet heated flooring with ferrari emblem.. fair enough if you got the cash.. i dont so hes pretty sad :P

I hate to bash but this is just stupid. Please dont take what he is saying as a fact. PD didnt do it for their own reasons. I am not a forza fanboy but you can turbo pretty much anything in that game as it should be. **** you can even do drivetrain and engine swaps.. like AWD Vipers etc.

in the real world, ANYTHING can have a turbo! Even a lawn mower! I dont see why PD are limiting things this way except for fear of creating some SUPER AWESOME CARS?!

That's a bit weird, in real life you can put a turbo on any car. I think it's also weird how some mods can't be done on some cars, like I'm sure i had a car the other day, that i couldn't fit either the light weight windows, or carbon bonnet.

I just bought a Ferrari 458 I think it's called and it can't have a turbo!

Can Ferrari's have a turbo?

I was hurt last night when I found this out the hard way. I bought a 430 Scuderia and was so anxious to tune it up, but found out that I couldn't install a turbo or super-charger. I only got it to 650HP. I was hoping to at least get close to my GT-R. I dont even like how the engine sounds.

Thanks for the response, I was just freaking out, I LOVE the Ferrari 458 Italia, and I was thinking maybe I bought the wrong one, but I'm good now :D

You cant tune ANY car with a turbo in R/L lol Trust me i'm a time served mechanic

Assuming you're saying that you can only upgrade turbo systems on GT5 cars that (untuned) are already turbocharged: that's mostly the case in GT5, it is not completely true in GT5.

I have a feeling Polyphony left out certain modifications on certain cars to in an attempt to help keep everything somewhat balanced.

Pretty much anything with an internal combustion engine can be turbocharged (which I'm sure you know, I'm just adding)... unless you want to nit-pick about engine-bay space limitations, feasibility, etc...

FWIW, I designed, built and tuned the entire turbo system on my (real life) race car which came from the factory naturally aspirated.

Yes, it is possible to turbo any car, all you need is the money and the know how lol.

You can't turbocharge an electric motor, therefore you can't turbocharge all electric POS like the Tesla unless you add an internal combustion engine.

Yes twilight knows what he is talking about :)👍

its a little stupid on their decisions of what you can and can't turbo in the game, two cars I owned in real life were both NA engines, one I can't turbo in the game (2008 M Coupe) and the other I can (2008 C63), so why is that? so the M engine (same as the older M3s) can't be turbo'd but the Mercedes engine can?

What they need in GT6, BUILD YOUR OWN ENGINE, hahaha

I've been racing my P4 bone stock for a while now, phenomenal car, worth every credit. I looked in the upgrades and saw that a turbo is available for it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe this amazing race car was ever turbocharged. Why would PD offer a turbo upgrade on the most storied of GT Ferraris but not the others?

I would guess that they did it so that you could add one if you want. Much like any other car that never came with one, you can add it if you choose too on those as well.

None of the other Ferraris have turbo or S/C options, except the F40, which was twin turboed already. So why just the P4?

Because many of the racing cars in the game have turbo options. Even racing versions of road cars that you can't buy turbos for (like the NSX). It doesn't make any sense, but what in GT5 does?

Turbocharging was not common until the 1970's because they posed reliability issues and the P4 was a mid engined car so cooling was an issue as well.
With the advent of intercoolers and wastegates, we can apply a modern turbo to a classic motor!
