I never noticed this before, but I haven't driven on this track all that much either, but it does indeed seem like this track is from a different earth orbiting a binary star system.

Anyone else have this particular bug?

What time of day was the photo? Morning or evening? I'm curious to check this out.
This particular picture was taken when I was doing the Megane seasonal. I don't know what time that is, but it should be the same time every time in the seasonal challenge.

It's not just seasonals. Open lobby and single player have the same thing

On the left side there is a sun, and on the right side it's not a sun, it's a Course Maker incoming to our planet. Should be available.... soon.

So what exactly causes that effect? If there is only one sun, then what is the other glowing ball of hot death?
My only guess would be lens flares but I use them too much to know that that's not a lens flare.
Maybe it could be what's happening on Brands Hatch, but what the hell is going on in that photo?

The one in SVPSkins photo? Most likely fake, it's too perfect.

Lens flare can actually under rare circumstances cause a very similar effect, which doesn't necessarily have to be caused by the lens of the objective, but by another transparent object such as a window. But again, the picture looks to clean and if it were lens flare, you'd immediately notice it in a video or if you were the one capturing it.

However, the visual occurance of multiple suns is definitely possible. They're called parhelia (singular parhelion) or also referred to as sun dogs. Under very special circumstances a pharelion can give the impression of multiple somewhat realistic looking suns, but never really as perfect as in that photo.
Normally caused by ice crystals, but sometimes also by other special atmospheric conditions, gases, etc.
It being a superior mirage is theoretically somewhat possible, but only low above the ground and with bad quality.

I had this glitch way back then, in GT6 ver 1.01 when we had those nice motion blur 30-FPS replays, I think I was the only one who liked them because the 60FPS makes the races I do feel stale, anyways I think it might the lighting engine accidentally making another sun due to the amount of brightness at a certain time of day, It can happen in both replays and gameplay so yeah, I think it might have been patched though because haven't seen it since,

Given that the two suns doesn't look the same I'm guessing that the sun is made of two (or more) objects - one holding the flare effect and the other the "actual sun". And when the glitch occurs one of the objects becomes offset from the other for some reason.
