More bad news as French rider Thomas Bourgin has been killed today.

Yeah he collided with a police car from chili <.<

What is really bugging me now is that both these incident were not on the race itself but on the road they take to go from stage to stage. That's so sad. He was 25 year old.

It's not really a secret tho that those south american road are very deadly and very dangerous.

The title of this thread is a little misleading. The Race2Recovery chaps are injured but stable. The victims themselves were the people in the taxi.

Has there been any more of an explanation about what happened that caused a head on collision to occur?

The story I heard about this was what homeforsummer said.

The r2r guys were ok it was the taxi they hit that the people were killed in. RIP to them.
