That's not a dumb question. I'd like to know specifically, too.

Any screenshots for those of us stuck in work? I read about the standing water indicator as too...
On rain tracks, you can set 0-100% surface water for the start of the race and so now they added that indicator for when you're using the HUD.

The tire load indicator just shows four circle's and a circle within each of those (concentric, if I remember geometry correctly) that get smaller and bigger depending on the amount of "pressure".

100% might be that tyre is starting to skid;100% means you are at the grip limit? I have not actually tested 2.0 yet.

It shows visually in real time how the load is spread among the tires. Can be handy for suspension tuning. I just hope it also works in replays as while driving it is a bit distracting (haven't checked it out yet and i'm in middle of endurance race right now).

Great for tuning, not something you would leave up while racing.

Sadly isn't available in replays from what I can see.

Sounds great :)

Is it of use ? To my untrained eye it looks like some ghetto debug feature they used in the office for dev work and decided to ship it. I personally couldn't pull anything useful from it especially while driving... When I had damage the circles wobbled and stopped wobbling depending on speed which was interesting.

Looks a bit like that at first but if you take note of all 4 during load shifting (and get adjusted to it) you can see quite clearly how each tyre independently gets loaded up in real time which is really handy when tuning suspension. Also If the tyre gets overloaded the circle in the centre will go red, so even if you arn't watching closely it will still get your attention while driving.

1 bad thing about the tyre indicator is its 4 big dots with big circles around them right in the middle of the screen. Looks crap

It's exactly where you'd want it to be if using it while hotlapping 👍 (me at least).

They're actually placed quite well IMO (talking about interior view), rear set is just below the dash and the front set are just above your viewing points ahead (road, apexes, other cars etc) while still being close enough to see while driving.

I read it's usuable in replay but also couldn't find the option, maybe you have to leave it on whilst racing and then it will stay enabled throughout the replay? Perhaps a bug that needs pointing out to Kaz - because I agree it's pretty obtrusive during a race (unless you're trying to monitor that for a reason anyway) but would be interesting in a replay.

When using a DS3 you can't tell when the tyres are losing traction, this indicator might help?

This is a tyre load indicator, the tyre indicator (temp, wear) in the bottom left of the HUD will be better for indicating loss of traction.

The problems with this feature.

1. It's rather useless in the middle of a race.

2. The location of the load indicators is just stupid, right smack in the middle of the screen.

3. It's hard to tell wich tire has a load on it.

4. they should've did it like GT1. 4 little rectangles in the bottom left corner. /Rant.

I think it is supposed to be used while you're fine tuning your setup, not while racing, that justifies the placement. But I understand why one would use during a race.

Here ya go. I wished the circles were further out and at least started as green and should turn to yellow and red. If you watch this to closely then you are not going to see the track. So colors would help.
