Big night tonight for two of the three British teams..heres what they need to do..

Chelsea...they need to beat Nordsjaelland at home and hope that Shakhtar beat Juventus...that could easilly happen as Shakhtar and Juve are good teams and Chelsea should beat Nordsjaelland comfortably...

Celtic...they are at home to Spartak Moscow and have to better Benfica result, who are away to Barcalona, Barca are already through and could name a weakened team, but you would still fancy Barca to beat Benfica, so either way Celtic need a decent result to go through...

Man United...are already guarunteed top spot in the group, big derby match v Man city on sunday, so we will have a weakened team out against Cluj tonight, we will just put our feet up and relax!

I really do hope results go our way tonight, Shakhtar are a fantastic team and I expect them to give a good showing. I can only see Juventus playing for the draw they need but Shakhtar are going to be to strong for them (I hope).

Pretty please Willian and co, save us  :scared: :dopey:

Edit:

Hopefully Willian and Fernandinho can boss the midfield like they did against us, that means somebody will have to keep Pirlo quiet though

Nordsjaelland just had a penalty against Chelsea because of a Hazard handball but Cech saved it.
EDIT: and then Chelsea have one minutes later, Hazard steps up and it gets saved.

Celtic are 1-0 up! and Barca-Benfica is still 0-0, so Celtic are through at the mo..

Chelsea 1-0 Luiz pen..Shakthar-Juve still 0-0

And then Chelsea get another penalty. David Luiz steps up and scores this time. 1-1 in Glasgow as well.

2-0 Chelsea at half time..with Torres getting his monthly goal!..but Shaktar-Juve is still 0-0..so Chelsea cant do anymore really, not looking all that good for Celtic either..

Well Chelsea is 6-1 up now... Cahill scored one, Torres scored again, Mata and Oscar the 2 others...

And Cluj is 1-0 up against United! :grumpy:

Chelsea aren't going through as it stands, but Celtic are!

I'm assuming Classic is going mental at the game :sly:

Pfeew.

I really thought Barcelona would throw the game in favor of Benfica. Really looked like it.

So despite Chelsea having 10 points, which is normally enough for qualification, they become the first defending champions to get knocked out in the group stage!..also congrats to Celtic!!👍:)

Good for us they didn't indeed. Celtic through and Chelsea missing out, with Celtic beating Barcelona along the way. Who'd thought it when the groups were drawn? None of us having looked back at the thread

So everything went according to the plan - apart from Cluj going out, to be honest.

They probably should have gone through with a strike like that.

But Chelsea are out, Celtic are through, Man City are out, we were top to begin with, even though we made it look much closer/worse than it really was in the end. We will now totally draw Real Madrid...

And Messi was stretchered off too. Looks like that Gerd Muller record might have to wait a bit longer mate...

Dont say we will draw Real Madrid C-Zeta mate!!:scared::scared:

Just thought I'd quote this from the draw date ...

All this Negativity.

I don't buy it. At all.

Helsingborgs and Helsinki are teams which would have handed the Strachan team absolute drubbings. And guess what? We beat em.

This Strachan team will also be the team which managed to dispose of both Spartak and Benfica.

Celtic could scrape through.

BELIEVE.

This is who is through, Madrid being second is worrying for all winning teams!

• Group A: PSG, Porto

• Group B: Schalke, Arsenal

• Group C: Malaga, AC Milan

• Group D: Dortmund, Real Madrid

• Group E: Juventus, Shakhtar Donetsk

• Group F: Bayern Munich, Valencia

• Group G: Barcelona, Celtic

• Group H: Manchester United, Galatasaray

OK SORRY

How about FC Porto. That way the whole thing will be a lot less unbiased for me because I have a moderate liking for them. Not to mention a moderate hatred of every other Portuguese team as a result.

Chelsea were the top scorers in the Champions League group stage as well.

United fans need not worry about drawing Madrid in the knockout stage, after all..... it's not like they are given difficult draws are they (see this years and last years group stage for details) :sly:

Not to be a sore loser though, it was our own doing in letting Juve come from 2 down in the first place.

Not a nice feeling being the first holders to go out in the group stage though.

At least christmas came early for Torres :dopey:

My guess is United either meet Real Madrid or AC Milan. ^^

But Porto or Celtic would be great! :D

I don't want Celtic, I want them to have an easier team than us. If we knocked out one of the big guns though it would be great.

Shouldn't have problems against Milan if you do get them, it's probably one of the best teams to get seeing as though they are going through a rebuilding process.

Teams to avoid are obviously Madrid and Shakhtar, in my opinion the dark horses for the tournament are Shakhtar and Dortmund in my opinion. I think Dortmund could go all the way.

Problem is, United always play poorly in Italy.

And Milan is still a strong team.

Well it's just 2 more weeks until we know who meets who.

Milan have been, to say the least, pretty horrible in their national league so far. But in said national league, they have started a rise again. Thanks to El Shaarawy, of course. So I don't want them.

14 points off the pace in serie A..... not to mention they lost all their big players last season. Your just trying to provide cover for yourselves aren't you :sly:

They're probably not going to be in europe next season the way things are going.

United and Madrid would be a great watch though, their have been some memorable meetings between the two clubs:tup:

Just because they aren't performing in the top in Serie A, doesn't mean they aren't a good team.

They're through to the knock-out rounds right?

While last years winners is out. :sly:

Take it you didn't notice they were obviously one of the favorites to go through in their group, Malaga was a surprise package though.

Obviously was hard for you to spot as your used to seeing easy groups yourselves :sly:

Not having a go here, just pointing out a fact that Milan are not the team they were and can't see them making it to the next stage. I would fancy Celtic to beat them at this point (no disrespect to Celtic fans).

I myself am routing for some fantastic ties now that i'm a neutral, even though I do love to see United get beat just like you probably do with Chelsea.

Support the English..... What great support we are then

Well, we can't get Celtic because you can't play a team from the same country so the best one to get would probably be Porto for us.

I must say that I didn't pay that much attention to Milan's group or games.

You're seeing things again... We obviously had the toughest group!

Yeah, Milan were better a couple years back, but they can still go through to the next round if they play well.

Well, even though im glad Chelsea is out, im alot more happy that City went out! :D

I belive United can meet Celtic, as Celtic is from Scotland, not England. ;)
