That's 2 British teams been hard done by then this round.

The decision to send off Nani changed the whole game. Feel sad for Ferguson and for United, as they are a club that I hold in high regard.

Just waiting for SAF to drop kick the ref at the final whistle!👎

LMAO blatant pen on Evra wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a shame that the referee is the talking point in what was a great game until he sent Nani off. Real may still have won and they may not have, but it's that ridiculous decision that now stands out as the biggest decision in the game. Not only that but Nani was having a good game down the left.

If only there was a sting enough word for my feelings towards that ref right now.

I take it you mean Celtic. If so, a bit of shirt pulling in the box doesn't cancel out being outclassed by Juventus when it came to the crunch. Celtic played well in the first game, but Juventus looked extremely confident in the key areas.

First half we were the better team...i had a feeling the ref would send off Nani after i saw a few replays of the incident..that redcard changed the game..there was nowway we were going to hang on for around half and hour against a team like Madrid with 10 men! :grumpy:

Fairplay Mourinho.
I was expecting for him to say that. Man Utd had a lot of chances and looked relatively in control before red card and at the end. Disappointing result in the end but an inspirational performance 👍.

It was a good performance, better than in the first leg and it is disappointing but my fellow United fans should remember that we are in a fantastic position in the league and we've got Chelsea in the cup on sunday..let have a double!!

Amen, and yes I am a Manchester United fan.

Yeah, in all fairness, the Premier League is more important than the Champions League.

Not really, all this years Champions League has shown is that the Premier League is no longer the highest quality league in Europe. Champions League is always more important.

No, not after last year.

It's important for United to regain the Premiership.

If United win the FA-cup, that's just a bonus.
If United would have won the Champions League, that would have been a big bonus, but only a bonus.

Right now, Ferguson have to focus on getting as big a lead as possible to City.

But we can take that in the PL + Cup thread.

I'm a bit late here but that was not a red card. At most a yellow but as Arbeloa made the most of it. Also, massive respect for both Ronaldo and Mourinho

Time to unsubscribe from this thread for another year.

Chelsea won yes, but were they the best team? No. City might have been champions but can't get out of the group, Chelsea were Champions of Europe, and are now scrapping in the Europa League. The depth of talent in Spain and Germany is just astounding at some clubs. You could pick a bench from El Clasico that would probably pick up a 3rd/4th place in the Premier League.

That's about what you want for United. That doesn't affect how the English (and Celtic) do in the Champions League. Chelsea were an exception, due to playing solidly at the back, with most men behind the ball, occasionally springing forward. It worked, but it wasn't indicative of the strength of the team, more how they set up to grind out results against Barca and Bayern.

Did you even watch the match tonight?

United were clearly the better team, and would have deserved to win. But no, the referee just had to have a brain collapse, and ruin it.

But I still think winning the Premier League is more important, at least this year.

Of course.

The first half was fairly even. United had some impetus after Ramos's own goal, yeah, but that was till 60 minutes. There was still 30 minutes left, time to change. On the basis of the first 70 minutes, United edged it. But no one has a clue how the match would have turned out if it was just a yellow. All we have to go on is Madrid winning.

Being best in Europe is better than being home champions, easily. Enough to change Hazard's mind, that's for sure.

Yeah of course it was time to change, a red card that totally changed the match, and literally ruined it.

United were in full control, but of course, we will never know how it would have turned out if a yellow, or no card were shown.

For some... For some.

Eh, I would still have fancied it to drag into extra time. I'm sure Madrid would still have scored, somehow, they're too good a team not to.

If your president of Madrid it's enough too, and chairman of Chelsea. Winning the league just isn't the same as being best in Europe for me. It's a whole different kettle of fish.

Such a shame that a great match was ruined byan idiotic ref trying to steal the limelight, fair play to mourinho for being humble and roy Kearney has lost my respect after his idiotic comments.

I have to say, angry United fans are absolutely hilarious.

Dortmund for Champions League! :)

Aren't they just! I like the way they always say 'we' or 'us', when talking about Man Utd. It's like everyone in the whole world supports them and they don't need to differentiate themselves or this is a Man Utd thread only. :sly:
