Fantastic stuff! :D

Conclusion about Belgium after 3 games. When they meet a opponent with a proper offense they'll have their asses handed to them.
Didn't see them tonight, but they should be able to cope most attacking teams, if they just swapped Vertonghen and Vermaelen.

BCEF -> CBAD
Top four third place teams are from groups B, C, E and F, so the team from Group B (Slovakia) goes on to play the winner of Group C (Germany), 3rd in C (Northern Ireland) plays the winner of B (Wales), 3rd in E (ROI) goes to play A's winner (France) and 3rd in F (Portugal) will play the winner of D (Croatia).

I think that Ireland has a score to settle with France...

Even more surprising than the Ireland win tonight is Sweden being the only team to fail to get on the score sheet.

Ireland will play France

There's definitely a hard half and an easy half of the draw now. The semi-finals are:

Semifinal 1
06/07/2015
[Switzerland or Poland] or [Croatia or Portugal] vs [Wales or Northern Ireland] or [Hungary or Belgium]

Semifinal 2
07/07/2016
[Germany or Slovakia] or [Italy or Spain] vs [France or Republic of Ireland] or [England or Iceland]

The bottom half of the draw contains the current World Champions, the current European Champions, the hosts, 9 of the 15 European Championship winners, 11 of 20 World Cup winners and four of the top 10 teams by current ELO ranking.

The top half doesn't have any of that. Except Belgium, whose current ELO rank is 10th. I think that Belgium will be rubbing its hands at what seems to be an easy path to the final against a team that is likely going to be knackered after that lot... with a day's less rest.

I've money on Croatia to win and Bale to be top scorer, both bets look pretty achievable with that draw.

Correction: When they meet a defensive team they can't do anything.
Our defense is fine. Midfield play is way too slow and unprecise.

But Belgium's strength is having a team that should be able to make the game. They didn't show any of that at all.

Either Wilmots has sandbagged the groupstage or there isn't a team yet. But they're on the relative easy side of the tree so they have a good shot at getting somewhere.

Belgium were nothing in the qualifiers against Wales. We could face them in the quarters if we overcome the Nordies.

Neil Taylor Euro 16 Goals: 1

Well done to Ireland though. Italy B or not, they were a horrible team tonight with some shocking tackles and unbelievable diving. Hoolahan going from zero to hero quicker than Brawn GP.

Superb strike!

Switzerland-Poland is at extra time, 1-1 so far...

I did not expect that Poland would have trouble beating the Swiss.

But the Swiss are the stronger team for quite some time.

Edit.

Why is Djourou even part of the Swiss squad. What a turd in boots that is.

Best goal of the tourney so far followed by possibly the worst penalty spot kick. Switzerland are covering all the bases.
