That's one surprising statistic put to rest for Germany. Then swiftly replaced by another...

Zaza's howler made Xhaka's miss earlier in the tourney look like a half decent effort.

Boateng's brainfart almost screwed Germany's victory lol.

And that penalty shootout was incredibly bad.

Congratulations Germany!

Damn! That was awfully awsome . I wanted Italy to go through. They were solid enough to postpone the decision to the (awful) penalties.

Scheiwnsteiger wasn't much better and sent another ball to the clouds getting a companion for Zaza's ball

I want Iceland to beat Germany, just because.

In terms of footballing spectacle, Germany vs Portugal final would be the most boring result possible. No offense to either side but it would probably be terrible as a neutral.

Taped the game and watched it once I came in from work stock-take at around midnight, fast forward through most of it because it wasn't great, a very tactical match with both defences largely on top and some of the penalties were terrible, Zaza was just jogging in the spot before he skied it (stop pissing about and take the shot!) and Pelle told Neuer what he was going to do before putting it wide, genuinely laughed at that!.

We might get an announcement from Buffon soon that he is retiring from Italy as he said before the tournament that he wont be around for the World Cup when he'll be 41, a bit gutted for him tonight....

Germany are such a feckin' boring side to watch. Hopefully France will beat them.

Our football may be boring to watch, but it's effective. That boring football brought us the world cup whereas all of the orher big team had their one superstar and tried to play football that was exciting to watch which ultimately brought them nothing. :D
But yeah, that shootout yesterday was brutal, I was even closer to a nervous breakdown than I was in 2006 in the penalty shootout against Argentina.

So tonight then, very intriguing clash between France and Iceland, France without Rami and Kante who are both suspended with Umtiti and Cabaye expected to come in.

Also this is the final week of the tournament, four more games, last quarter final tonight, semi finals on Wednesday and Thursday with the final on Sunday.

France should win but they have looked quite inconsistent in the games I've watched them play and might crumble under pressure.
