and not forgetting that they also played one of the worst games of football that I have ever had the misfortune to witness - harsh words indeed considering I watch Scottish league football on a regular basis. Portugal are, in my opinion at least, possibly the least deserving finalists in a major European tournament since Jemini took part in the Eurovision Song Contest...

Every WC and Euro has its share of boring games. It happens all the time in the knockout stage and it's not uncommon for a finalist or even winner to be amongst one of these games.

In fact, that same day, Wales vs NI was just as bad (even worst, in my opinion) a game as Portugal vs Croatia.
 
The portuguese manager said after the Iceland game that he would only leave France on the 11th. Every single person mocked him. The man was right, who would've known :lol:

Hell, I know I did.

I remember being in the car with my wife, listening to that interview on the radio. At that point, we just looked at each other and burst out laughing.

That was after the game with Austria, by the way. So, after 2 games, 2 draws, 1 goal...

Portugal wasn't even the second best team in its group but is now at least the second best team in the tournament...
 
Well deserved for France, the best team in the tournament, outplayed Germany at times who were toothless in attack which is proof that the striker-less tactic rarely works, I don't think the Germans have had a good tournament TBH...

And what a tournament Greizmann has had, simply unrea!
 
Wales finish above Germany, Italy, Belgium, Spain, England and Croatia! :eek:
 
After reading some comments here I'm starting to wonder if this Euro thing is a artistic pageant or a football tournament?... Does the team with greater finnesse and artistically skills win, or is it the one who puts one ball more, at least, on the net, than its opponent?...
 
As a fan of football I'd prefer France to win. I don't care about Ronaldo I just find the French team more exciting and entertaining.

For similar reasons I wanted Real Madrid to win the Champions League. Atletico got there by simulation and bullying referees. Of course Pepe in the final sort of ruined my thinking.

If Portugal win it, fair play to them, I just don't think it will be a good match to watch if they do.

I was expecting Germany to be in the final but I got to admit that winning against France in the final in their own country would be sweet. We have to erase Griezmann and Pogba from the match like we did with Modric, Rakitic, Bale, etc.

I'm in Germany and me and some friends were thinking about going to watch the final in a public space to feel the atmosphere of the german fans. ^^ Too bad.

I live in NYC, but I know of a Portuguese community in Newark, NJ that goes absolutely nuts for football during these championships. The store fronts and streets are adorned with Portuguese colors and music and grilled chicken is plenty out there. It's fun to be honest. 👍

As for the game, I honestly think France will take the cup, but it definitely won't be easy for them. Looking for a great match on Sunday!
