Yep that is right showing at 9:00pm probably to avoid clashes with the so called show X-Factor. Anyway the show details below in quotes taken from the BBC Top Gear website.

In the first of a brand new series, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May take an Aston DBS Volante, a Ferrari California and a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder to Romania in search of an obscure stretch of tarmac that some hardcore drivers claim is nothing less than the greatest road in the world.

Meanwhile, James makes a rare appearance on the track as he compares two absurdly powerful limos, the BMW 760i and Mercedes S63 AMG, and gets into a strange card game with The Stig.

Plus, Star Trek, Troy and Hulk star Eric Bana is the Hollywood legend in the Reasonably Priced Car.

So from the looks of it it will be a DBS Volante, California and Gallardo Spyder trying to find a good driving road similar to what they did some series ago. In addition reviews of the BMW 760i and Mercedes S63 AMG. Finally they have Eric Bana for the star in a resonable price car.

There are some things we do know that a Renault Twingo driving off a harbour cliff and the so called Caravan Airship accident race may appear in this series according to reports.

This series better be good as the last few series especially the last series (series 13) have been disappointing in my opinion and a few segments I really liked, there was not a single episode that stood out for me.

I hope they have decent stars in a reasonable price car and hope this series has some racing drivers going in the Suzuki round the track.

In addition minor criticism about the show (IMO) they need more car reviews/road tests with the current format. Not just supercars/cars that people cannot afford (still keep it of course.) I liked the format of the earlier new Top Gear series (with the exception of say the first few series of new Top Gear format) when they did it and had entertainment and cars reviews were a good balance, but it has been lacking in so called recent series. The so called "cheap challenges" like cars under x so amount, cars for certain drivers etc. needs to be reduced as it is getting old and tired and they kinda have gone OTT. I do feel that it is better having say a longer series format than two series each year like they did in earlier series is better. But that is minor gripes aside and that is my own opinion, though I do not mind watching Top Gear.

Let's just hope Top Gear staying positive can bring something good out of the new series and it will be in HD of course.

I just hope that first bit doesn't get too boring. It sounds awfully similar to the first bit some seasons ago with the Aston DB9 racer, the GT3 and the Gallardo...

Indeed it does, more cool wall too would be good, although last series they do a lot of cool walling

The cool wall always makes up for some good fun. Remember Clarkson raising himself with a machine to stick a car way up there on the roof? That was just hilarious.

They challenges where they buy rubbish cars are generally my favourite. I prefer them to pretty much any other type of challenge or feature they do on TG.

Agreed, the old episode when they bought a car for under £100 was on of the best.

Top gear will be on today at 9 on bbc2 guys. I just found out a few hours ago so I thought id post this incase anyone else didnt know either.

The chaps went on a road trip to the Transfagarasan Highway in an Aston Martin, Ferrari & Lamborghini the scenery once they got there was stunning in HD the helicopter pilot was a bit of a nutter getting a bit too close to the cars on occasions.

I'd never heard of this road before, Jeremy said if you tried to imagine all the best corners from all the race tracks in the world put together you would get something like this. They described it as a better road than the Stelvio Pass

check this out

Hmm, good to have top gear back.. but...

Interesting that whilst Jeremy was covertley trying to slag off the BMW 760 he didn't mention the cars it was faster than, on a very wet track...

Wow, what an excellent episode. Romania has always been a place I wanted to visit and I want to even more so now. The show managed to be entertaining but not over the top or stupid which was nice. It felt like an older episode of Top Gear with better camera shots and more interesting cars.

The Ferrari California however is hideous.

I'm really looking forward to this series, especially the Italian Job re-enactment.

Certainly a good kick start to the new season 14 of Top Gear. Felt very much like the first episode of Season 10 which they referred back to. As Joey said, it did feel like an older episode. It's a shame they have to destroy so many cars though, not that I care about the car itself but it's becoming a bit more of a trend lately. A solid 8/10 from me. 👍

The California is quite possibly the most vulgar and horrifyingly ugly piece of metal I've ever seen in my life. I wish we had roads like that in North America, though.

And I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing 5000lbs of AMG going sideways throwing more smoke in the air than a John Force burnout, even if it's only coming out of one wheel.

I loved JC's gypsy hat and when he said in a Borat voice "have you shrunken the man in that car gypsy" obviously referring to Hammond.

I actually thought, it was way over scripted and didn't enjoy it as much. Still, it was definetly worth watch, when isn't TG worth watching. :dopey:

Good episode overall. Yet, it left me a bit flat. Is it just me, or did this episode feel a bit rushed? JC seemed to be rushing through the sections. Not a bad episode, but not one of my favorites.

;)

Well nothing has ever topped the first episode of season 12 but this first episode has already surpassed the whole of season 13. Hopefully some more good things to come. I hate to think of the repairbill for all 3 of those cars. Cleaning the interior of all that dust, repairing the damage to the LP560, let alone repairing all the scratches caused by those kids drawing on the paint with their fingers. Would need a fair amount of buffing and polishing.

Awesome episode, made me wanna throw some Fezzas and Lambos round Kaido on FM3. I really do wanna go to that road though, you can certinaly see the racetrack influences in there.

Agreed

It was better than I was expecting, but some things could have been better. I noticed that the ending was almost non-existent. We found the road, here are 10 seconds of clips.
