Unexpectedly slow, bad handling cars.

Idk about you, but i find the Elise to be one of the nice handling cars in game...

I'd have to agree with you on the Enzo and the MP4-12C though.

Really? I could drive it wit a controller but with a wheel I can't even go through the follow through on the Top Gear Test Track without spinning if I'm o the throttle.

I too nominate the Ferrari Enzo, I've actually started to read several period road tests to see if the terminal understeer was there in the real car too, but the only understeer that is mentioned (if at all) is a slight one in slow corners.
And since a lot of cars have received a physics improvement/update I'm puzzled as to why PD thinks this is how the car is supposed to drive and why they haven't changed it yet.

For example, the Murcielago became much easier and controllable (and more fun) to drive compared with how it was when the game just got released, and whilst overall the amount of understeer has been increased since several updates, the amount of understeer of the Enzo seems frankly ridiculous.
Maybe I'm wrong though but I think it's a serious flaw instead of an accurate representation, I've spend ages trying to come up with a 'decent' set up to make it driveable doing quite drastic things I don't have to do on any other car in the game.
It actually now understeers a bit less followed by snap oversteer and even though it's a challenge to drive, I can't say it offers much fun.

Ford Mustang V8 GT Coupe Premium '07
Much ..MUCH slower than expected. While the handling is acceptable, its been made too heavy and has the wrong weight balance compared to the RL car. Also, where are the striped versions?!?!?

I agree. It doesn't even feel the slightest bit American. That's because the premium Mustang is the Japanese version. If you're wanting a decent modern Mustang in the game, the standard '05 one is your best shot. That one is the proper American version.

A lot of lower hp cars when stock feel way too slow as well. Some of them take forever to reach 40mph, but I've seen them driving on the real roads as someone's daily driver, and they don't take that long to reach 40. Stock Kei cars just don't feel realistic to me.

The Weight of both the cars is roughly correct. The 2005's a little lighter than the 2007+ models because of added support in the front to accommodate the 5.4L in the GT500 starting in 2007.

The major problem is the gear ratios, transmission and differential in both models are those of the automatic model. The manual versions have slightly more aggressive gear ratios and higher differential ratio.

There is no Japanese specific version of the Mustang.

I was told the '07 in the game was.

Got my hands on a standard Mustang GT which is based off the American version (premium Mustang GT is the Japanese version with automatic transmission. In other words it handles worse and is slower.)

But, I'll take your word for it.

Yes it's a bit slippery stock I'll admit, but I still find it relatively manageable. Quite a fun car to handle too, with some delicate throttle work required to drive it.

Besides, a well tuned Elise is quite fast, especially for 400-550pp races online. With it, I could easily race neck to neck w all the CSLs/NSX Type Rs

AC Cars 427 S/C ’66 and Shelby Cobra 427 ’66
These go top of my list. The way PD has dealt with these is shameful.

I love these cars. They handle well IF you baby the throttle in corners and when you straighten up and nail the throttle they go! But I use a DFGT wheel. On the DS3 it's hard to stay on track.

P.S. Add a supercharger and it will blitz many a modern racer in the American challenge.

Bugatti Veyron. Why won't you turn. Just a little bit please.

Put 1000hp in any car in the game, you'll have the same problem.

You need to realize that you have to adjust your braking points. It's just like V8 supercars vs DTM or Super GT. They have more power, so you have to brake a little earlier.

The veyron actually handles pretty awesome for it's weight. It's like the Nissan GT-R, heavy but still takes corners faster than it should.

You just need to learn to drive it dude.

For me,

Audio R10 (how did this thing win Le mans? It's so friggin slow, probably the lowest LMP in GT5, I bet there are LMP2s that could drive circles around it, it's that slow)
Lamborghini Murc LP640 (lift off oversteer much?)

And the Viper ACR handles good, but it's dissapointing, way too quiet, can hardly hear the engine and that's totally inaccurate

The Oulim Spirra was most disappointing, likes to spin a lot. I had high hopes when I bought it.
Actually, I find this car quite fun, especially for drifting. Though it could use ore traction, it's easy to control.

As many others have said, the Enzo is terrible in the game. Oversteer or understeer, no middle ground.

Ive seen the AI driving the murcielago lp640, and if you look closely every time the car turns the front end turns in way more than other cars, so its not just us having trouble with it.

The sv is miles better, im not sure how they messed up the 640 and made the sv at the same time.

The Panoz Esperante Gtr-1 is a car that ive had the misfortune to drive earlier. The handling is so borked on that thing, and it accelerates as if it had 600 horses instead of the claimed 750+. Im pretty sure ive mentioned this somewhere else, but if the veyron and the esperante were to be equipped with the same tires and race on the ring, the veyron would win...

What? Really? You mean the American Championships? The one with the 2J?? Wow ...ok, I will give it a shot. I use a DFGT and to me it feels like it takes an eternity for either car to straighten up after a corner so you can nail the straight. When coming to a corner its like brake early, turn in, wait, wait, wait, feather throttle, nail it. It especially feels worse at Tsukuba but yes, maybe Laguna Seca is kinder to them...

The cobra is brilliant. Racing online in a shuffle race and i got that. So quick accelerating that its relatively low top speed isn't much of an issue, you just need to be carefull with the power on the bends, you want to be 'just' spinning the wheels and sliding just slightly, it's so easy to turn on the throttle, you need to balance it.

Really easy with a controller with R2 as the throttle, though would be almost impossible if using X!

Reading alot of the posts, i cant help but ask that people state HOW they are playing.

Tires, aids, wheel, ds3 etc...

So im wondering what settings are used to make these decisions\accusations.

For me, i have to say the GTbyCitroen was much worse than i had anticipated a ~450hp RWD V8 with a 6speed would be, first off the interior is horrendous and very claustrophobic with a terrible FOV which makes it hard to drive, it has all that power and 19 or 20 inch wheels and still managed to put so little of it down on the tarmac, with wheelspin no less! and it costs 2M.

Driven at Nordschleife and CdLSarthe on both CS and SH tires, it likes CS better, because it cant really heat up SH enough to get to the grip point.

AND it sounds like crap, more like a maxed out inline4 than a big V8....

Enzo is terrible around corners. I remember being so disappointed after saving up to buy it (back when credits were harder to come by).
Also most of the Mercs are a bit annoying, I think PD slightly overdid it with the immense wheelspin and tyre shredding they do.
Also in general how most European cars are outdone by Nissans, don't think it's completely honest of PD to show them like that.

Have you watched repeat when Jeremy drove the sl65? It has tons of wheelspin and it is very heavy, wheelspin is due to about 737ft lbs Of torque.

In my experience the Murcielago SV actually handles quite well, even on sports tires. The extra downforce seems to help quite a bit.

No doubt it helps, but i was expecting it to be a much better car considering that is an AWD car.
The full story is, that I first bought the SV an later the normal one...
When i drove the normal one... i realised why the SV was so bad compared to other cars....The normal one, is actually a murderer.

The MP4-12C was fairly horrible compared to my expectations, it handles like a boat in stock condition, with amazing amounts of undesteer.

Which is why I don't have a single one in my GT5 garage.

I got another car and it's the aventador.this thing understeers like a veyron and you get on the power and it got oversteer.even wine I tuned it,it still understeers.it still pretty quick still.

That Toyota PRIUS Touring Car that came in the DLC is a complete joke. I actually made the mistake of trying to use it once. Watched all the other cars drive past me on the opening straight and when we got to the first corner I understeered right off the track. Would have stood a better chance on a bicycle. :grumpy:

Because the R10 has roughly-true-to-life power figures and none of the other ones do.

MP4-12C, something is just not right in that car.
The runners up would be the "V8" Mustang and the Enzo .... wow can they understeer (but at least it can be tuned out).
