well technically, A car won in the Caterham challenge. You also forgot Cayenne vs Skydiver, veyron vs euro fighter, MX5 vs dog. I still probably missed a few

The car drive all of what, 100m? But yes, the scenarios where the car lost seem to far out number the instances it won.

Can you name the challenges the car actually won? The car nearly never wins, but does on occasion. (Think RS6 vs Ski guys, RS4 vs mountain climbers, car vs bike vs boat vs train, car vs Jeremy and Co. building Caterham. The car lost in all of these to my memory).

A car has won in all of the epic races I believe. GTR v. Train, Veyron v. Plane, SLR v. Boat, etc.

Still, we've named 6-7 times the car lost on the UK version, and you've named 3 the car won. Maybe it's just about 50/50 as we'll be forgetting some, why do we care again?

that's the tg way - I have no idea

Not long now until episode 2, I can't wait to see that Walkinshaw in action. I think I'll be buying this season on DVD once it's done.👍

Another good episode if I do say so myself. Not that we didn't know it ourselves, but maybe we'll see less Civics with 20" rims on the road now. I was quite surprised by the whole 3sec though.👍 If I was getting a Walky I certainly wouldn't have those huge rims either.

Laughed at The Stig driving the Model T.

Note also that a Clubsport is roughly as quick as an M3.👍 (0.2sec difference)

A better episode this week. I actually enjoyed the segments on the Clubsport and the electric car race. But there's still a few things which bother me: those segments they do in the studio ( eg. this weeks Model T segment, last weeks imitation of a car ad). They seem to go on forever and they're not anywhere near as entertaining as watching a review of a car. Secondly, I cannot stand Warren Brown, he is a complete bore to listen to.

Pizza Hut is better while in a car (more natural I mean) and Morrison has improved heaps on his stage skills from last week.

ME WANT WALKY RIGHT NOW:crazy:!

I reckon the suspention was changed as well as everything else mentioned. It was riding alot lower and there wasn't nearly as much body roll - but if you wanted a track weapon that was road legal, there's alot more to do.

so chaps, how would you spec yours?

I'd have a blue one (or that mouve sort of colour - but I've never seen an HSV with it) with two red recaros up front, the optional hood scoop and the rims off the tuned Viper in GT5P on stock sized clubby tyres.

I enjoyed the electric car bit, and the model T. The interview was extremely boring which isn't anything unusual.

The segment of Stig putting around the track in the Model T was hilarious. 👍

Agreed.👍 Probably would have been a little better if Wazza hadn't said anything, but you get that.

Edit: I noticed they're using Oran Park a lot, anyone know if there's any particular reason to it?

Maybe the fact it's closing down soon, so the owner is looking to make as much profit as possible for the time being?

Or maybe because there test track is actually a working airport. The Top Gear test track is at Camden airport which is about 20 minutes away from me. That airport is still in use so maybe they can't use it all the time.

But using Wakefield Park and Oran Park is better anyway. Mainly because they're real race tracks and they're able to flow the cars more when they're testing.

You could be right too 'waggles', the owner may just want more money. But I know the owner is very rich.

What about the evo vs the bobsled, great battle that one. The driver of the evo was fully sick.

On Topic.
The new series of TGA is soooo much better than the first, Charlie Cox was one. Although I don't know if Warren is the better choice to do the interviews though, guess we will just have to see a few more because I Ian Moss was not a great interviewee.

I loved the Electric Car. So funny to see Steve, breaking down twice.

I didn't really like that red car (not sure what it was, a Holden something or other), it's looked ridiculous with all those vents and stuff. It was a good demo though to show how tires and wheels affect the handling of a car.

The rest of the show was decently entertaining.

HHHMMMM Not a Holden Fan, However like they said in the show, all the bits and pieces were optional. It is by far one of the best Bang for Bucks that I have seen though.

Maybe I wasn't paying attention very well but isn't the car $80,000AUS? That's $61,000 USD which seems like a lot of money for a goofy looking car with a poor wheel and tire combo. I don't know, just not really my style I guess.

I don't mind Holden's though, it's just we only really get one in the states and it's just a meh car.

That was Henning Solberg, WRC driver & older brother of world champion Petter. 👍

Ian Moss has never been one for interviews, that's why Barnesey always used to do them when they were together in Cold Chisel. ;)

The Electric car bit was classic. I don't care if it's only a mighty boy Pizatti, your DeWalt power drills will NEVER give it the oomph it needs to beat the Kingswood!!

And all hail the SuperClubby!! ZR1 power in Aussie styling.....I think as an Aussie that you can't beat that for pure style & power!! I'll take mine with some magnesium 20" rims thanks!! :D
But unlike Pizatti, I actually liked the scoop! :boggled: I'd want that big bulge to tell all the FPV owners that they are ALL inferior to your beast. :trouble:

Ford started it first by sticking a bulge on the XR8. :p

:lol: So does that mean Ford thought of it and did it first, and Holden had to copy :p

Casting the line.

Anyways was it not TGA who said that it really does not matter whether you have a Commodore or Falcon as long as you by one.
To help the Australian Car Manufacturing plants during the economic hell hole.

I think you're mental for thinking the Walkinshaw is goofy, but that's your loss.:p Keep in mind cars get cheaper on the trip to USA, so comparatively that's more like $55,000 USD, which gets you 470kw, incredible practicality (except fuel economy) and something quite unique, how is that not a bargain? You'll pay double that for cars from Europe with far less power and speed.

, true. I also didn't understand the beef with the scoop, a hark back to the VL and looks TOUGH as.

I agree, get one or the other, you're silly if you don't anyway.:p

No - it means Holden had a legit reason to do it - unlike the Ford:sly: *OOOOOOOOHHH - zinnng*

Much like some people here, that hood scoop, vent, extra room add on looks realy cool (AND practical)

Yeah but you would buy an old Gemini over a FPV, so you are a little biased :sly:

Well that might be pushing the envelope a little, I'd probably get the FPV in that case, but suffice to say IRL I wouldn't get either.:p No, the Walkinshaw looks genuinely tough.👍

We pay a lot more money for cars here, always have and always will.

So that Walkinshaw essentially has 630hp? It's not a performance bargain if it can't use that power effectively which TG:A showed. We get stuff here in the states from Mallet, Lingenfelter, and Saleen that would probably be able to beat the Walkinshaw with less power just because they use it correctly.

And I'm just curious, why do you guys pay so much for vehicles that are made in your country for your country? Although our Pontiac G8 and your Commodore are about evenly priced. Your Commodore International starts at $34,490AUD which is about $27,000 USD and out G8's start around $29,000.

it doesn't use it effectively because of the wheels and tyres which are an optional extra. If you went without the pricey shoes ($13000 AUD all up if I'm not mistaken) then you'd have a more controllable car. On top of that, you could blow your extra cash on a suspention upgrade.

Not forgetting of course that the superclubbie is essentially a large family saloon with race car parts - so it does have weight and dimentional problems in handling terms - but it will easily shrug off the closest American alternative saloon - the CTS-V.
