People forget that Vettel won a race in a Toro Rosso, when even Red Bull wasn't winning races or being impressive. Vettel just needed a good steed to left him to more consistent victory and he had it.

I have one that I feel will get me some hate.

Danica Patrick is a decent mid pack driver, and she absolutely deserves her mainstream media fame. She's very good for Nascar and was great for Indy.
 
Le Mans 2016 is probably the best races since I Was born probably.

Sans the TS040 DNF at the end but l.....

DirecTV broadcasts, which show onboards or even normal cams without commentary in the commercial breaks are great. Sport1 US does it like that too when broadcasting Indy. I get what you mean though, the whole US TV broadcasting style ruins the sport.

Unpopular opinion: The "new" bus stop chicane in Spa is better than the old one.
 
The fact that Mercedes don't employ first and second driver tactics, and build the team and car around one driver, is the only reason Rosberg is ever close to, or faster than Hamilton.

He's good, but if Mercedes gave Hamilton the treatment Red Bull and Ferrari gave Vettel and Schumacher respectively, I don't think Rosberg could ever touch Lewis.

Well, that is sorta the point of having clear #1 and #2 drivers.

And in some cases, such as Ferrari in 1982 and 1983, a lack of a clearly defined #1 and #2 cost them the title as they squabbled amongst themselves.

Mercedes-Benz are lucky that they are so dominant. If there was another team on their level with a clear Schumacher/Irvine-Barrichello definition, they mightn't win as often as they do.

In the former case, it was more about crippling crashes than an unstable hierarchy - though I imagine things would've been heated if Villeneuve and Pironi were around for the entire year.
 
Just jumping in here on page 11, didn't bother reading any other pages so I may not be alone, but:

F1 sucks.

At least right now anyway. They're going to have to make some major changes to bring me back in...

Vettel and Schumacher are more likeable than Rosberg and Hamilton.

I wonder the amount of outcry there would be if F1 tried the same aero kit/engine for a year to see the competition level, or atleast a cap on the amount of spending on R&D.

Honestly, I'd say the same would happen if Rosberg was given special treatment. Hamilton may be better but Rosberg certainly isn't far off.
 
The fact that My oil company has been sponsored on cars like Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo and even made into games like Forza 6 is more appalling to my country than keeping an underdeveloped F1 driver afloat in a motorsport where its upper management are very into the money.

We're just having a laugh, there is no doubt it's been a long time since a team dominated as much as Mercedes. They've won 43 of the last 50 races and they had the pace to win at least 4 of those they didn't. I'd say there are only three races they've lost since 2014 where they were straight up outperformed on the day and that was Vettel's three wins last year. The three that Ricciardo took they could've won if not for reliability or "Nico hit me" and we all know how they lost Spain this year.

Yeah I wasn't keeping count either, just knew it was bad based on headlines. Now that I see the numbers....ouch.
