Those are the people that boil my blood when it comes to that. They shouldn't have the right to complain about it if they chose to move there.
Unpopular opinion: It's not always the resident's fault You can't discount the possibility that the track came after the houses and that some families have continuously inherited their house longer than the track has been there.
In my view, if your family lived in the house before the circuit was in operation, you have the right to complain. Otherwise, you moved near a racing circuit. What did you expect? The house was probably cheaper for a reason. Same with any other loud place, like an airport, concert venue, or factory. That said, I do think circuits should try to minimise the disturbance they cause to those nearby by installing sound shielding etc.
It's a matter of fact that whatever your subjective criteria are, there is a scale of more deserving F1 champions to less deserving F1 champions. James Hunt is one of the lesser deserving. That's not to say he was an untalented driver, mind.
Watching Rush didn't make me a fan on him. The fact he never was in contention for a title outside of that year also doesn't look good for him.
Doug Nye's History of then Grand Prix Car 1966-1991 accords the MP4/4 no mention of innovation. But it does say it was "the most successful Formula 1 car design in decades".
I think he certainly preferred having it the easy way, however his talent is undeniable. Just take a look at his performances such as Spain 1996, Monaco 1996 qualifying, Hungary 1998 etc. I think what really tarnishes his credibility is his win at all costs attitude, a few bad moments really take away from some really good ones.
Why? The ends justify the means and he's had a brilliant start to his RB career and even has a win already.
Opening up to more manufacturers has done nothing to improve the VA Supercars issue with manufacturers. Nissan and Volvo joined but Nissan are horrible and Volvo is on its way out. Erebus ran Mercedes for awhile but switched to Holden. We would likely be in the same situation even if it was just Holden and Ford.
Talking for the sake of talking when nothing is getting answered can go the same. He said Why, then justified why it was a good decision, I pointed to the thread title as to why because it's unpopular and doesn't go by that.
I think the idea was to post an unpopular opinion that you yourself actually believe and then want to back up, not just making them up. "Senna was worse than Yuji Ide".
If we can make up ones that we don't believe in then: All drivers should be replaced with machines in 10 years time.
