update 1.05 - Ensure you follow the AUP when posting

I notice a difference in handling for the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 because I bought it before the update and it was stock except some added aero parts and I race it at the first event of NA tune at Expert mode with the sport hard tires.

Before the update, it was a bit handful around the corners and took a bit while to reach number one but after the update, the handling improve a bit by 40% and it doesn't slide around very much as it used to ..

can anyone confirm this?

Yeah I agree! I took my Gallardo out for a spin on Monza last night and it seemed a lot smoother. I was able to push it a lot more in the corners than I had in the past. Not sure what changed or maybe it is just me?? 💡

No paint chips here either. (USA)
I've logged in yesterday and today.
I only receive museum cards.

I don't get notifications but I do see that my paint chips increased.

...checked on my second account as well, have 5 new paint chips and I've only bought one car.

I find it quite funny, that PD decided to hide the instruments, but keep the statistics on the screen

I mean, what is more important? To drive the car and see it´s limits or watch the screen to see the statistiscs.

100% 👍

I've probably missed this somewhere, but is there a site I can get the update from on my PC, toss it on a USB or something and plug it in? My PS3's a lot further from the wireless point than is useful for downloading something this big.

Just noticed another small, but VERY welcome change. When you are purchasing parts, you still get all of the windows that go along with the purchase, "Really purchase this? Install now? Installation complete." However, when you click the "Okay" button on the "Installation complete" window, it now automatically closes the window for the part you just purchased and takes you back to the parts list. Again, it's a small thing, but SO very much welcomed. I never understood why we had to manually close that window after installing a part and having JUST clicked Okay after the part was installed.

There are no new events, they just changed the needed level to unlock them to 15 and if you've already a level of 15 or above, you will "unlock" them again.

Is installing the game a requirement after downloading and installing 1.05? It prompted me to intall the game after I downloaded the update. It hasn't asked me to do this after previous versions.

I haven't seen anyone posting about about installing so could there be trouble ahead for me? 20 mins to go!

Are you sure it wasn't prompting you to install the update you just downloaded? Obviously you don't need to re-install the game from disc again (as this would overwrite the update).

Has anyone noticed a problem with this new change of letting you run a race again after it is finished without having to reload. It seems that in implementing this the race results are no longer available at the end of a race in B-spec. It seems to instead show the race grid for the next race, this means you can't see how your driver finished if you were not there to see the end of the race. Have others noticed this?

Same here - I don't get a notification but the chips are there.

I'm not a happy camper right now. I haven't been able to gift a car since getting this update yesterday morning. Mazdaman u is not gonna be happy.

No, the update install had complete. After that a screen popped up saying that installing would improve load times and required 8gig free. I excepted the install. A timer started at 30 mins, jumped to 20. It took ages. About half an hour or more. The timer was definitely incorrect though.

After that I went into GT mode. All my cars seem to be there and the new features the the online dealership and challenges.

Not sure what happened to be honest.

I've noticed this and I've followed the thread fairly well and haven't seen anyone mention a solution to this. So far I've been looking at the prize money payout to determine where Bob placed.

TO ALL WHO GOT FREEZE AFTER THE UPDATE...
Here the answer: (because it happenned to me too)
1. Delete the Game Data Utility - GT5
Sometimes it freeze too, but it's oke, just restart your PS, (file is corrupt) and try do delete again until the file delete
DO NOT DELETE SAVED DATA UTILITY!!!!!
2. Download again the update
The point is: your PS should be not save data GT before update, file crash.
The update should install first, then the game.

@MMeglen: it works to me, I hope it works to you too

Sorry for my english

I was running B-spec last night, giving Bob a stupidly overpowered car and watching TV whilst he raced......then comming back after it finished and I couldn't understand why he kept placing 7th when he should have been walking away with the race.

Yeah........ I was pretty embarressed when I worked out what was going on. :dunce:

I always use PS3 Proxy to download large updates. Works really well

cool, but I cannot have my PS3 and PC on the same router. :guilty:

The original question still stands. It would be nice to be able to ugrade GT5 the same way the PS3 firmware is updated with a USB stick.
:guilty:

Anyone noticed the new option in the online lobby screen? There's a new option "recommended" under "show full lobby's". Any thougts about this option?
