This has been driving me crazy, what was Sony's intentions with these USB2 ports???? I have had my PS2 Slim for only a couple of weeks and no real manul came with it. I have a USb2 16MB dell flashdrive and when I plug it in to the PS2 nothing happens, it does not reconize it. I have been told only the 3 party Action Replay MaxDrive will work to tranfer files. To me that does not make much sense cause Sony does not really support 3 party accessiores. It is on my "Buy List" just the same, cause I gotta have something that will work. Why are they 2 USb2 ports on the PlayStation and what does Sony expect us to do with them?? Thanks for your input !!!

Well - You could use one for a DFP if you're into GT4 - then use the other for your memory stick to save pictures from Photomode... It's just a suggestion though...

And I'm fairly sure the ports are only 1.1

I have MaxDrive and my slimline PS2 is happy using that in conjunction with my Memorex 128 Mb USB2 Thumb Drive rather than the Datel one (which I had to reformat once and am not that impressed with).

Ok thanks guys cause that helps a lot. I do have GT4 and wanted to be able to save and tranfer files from my PS2 to my PC. I don't understang why my Flashdrive does not work but heard there was a list somewhere that will tell you what works and what want work w/sony ps2. I have also heard the problems with the AR max flashdrive and don't even won't to go there (Reformat)........ if you know of a link on which FlashDrive works with Sony let me know ..Thanks

You can also plug dance mats and mics into the USB ports.

The only program that lets you transfer saved game to PS2 via USB flashdrive is the AR maxdrive.

Old PS2= USB 1.1
New PSTwo = USB 2.0
