Is there gunna be any way to edit a backup (assuming thats possible) and replace the games music with the music we want?

Well considering that it was possible to edit a backup of Prologue with tracks from the BMW version, I'd say it's not out of the question.

The "'My Mix' tape" picture on the official site, under the music section (under sound), gave me a (very) brief hope of custom soundtracks straight up. But that's pretty much out of the question.

Sony will have copy write protection on GT4 so it may be hard to copy.
If you dont like the music I am sure you can play your own on a Walkmen or stereo.

Would be nice to have my trance and eurobeat playing from my TV, with the game, rather just having it blast from my computer. Cause then I can't hear people on the phone and stuffs <_<

I don't understand why couldn't simply put sometihng into the game that would see what is on the PS2 HD....

can you guys think of a better place to post this?

yeah the engine sounds will hopfully be better this time, but after 10 or 20 laps on the nurburgring it will get old

I have ran two hour races in GT3 without sound. I like it better than having the music on. With most cars it is easier to shift when you can guestimate the revs through the sound.

With no music playing in GT3 I felt the opposition AI cars engine sound louder than my car's engine which is slightly offputting when they are 3 corners behind you.

I want music when i'm racing. They didn't include it in GT4 : P and in the BMW Demo so i'm expecting the worst. Atleast give me an option to choose it. Even better ; adjust the volume and skip tracks! Driving 7 minutes without music is ok, but imagine 15/20 minutes (or a 2 hour endurance race..) without music. Alot of you would like that but i don't. I just want to hear music when i drive. Not loud but well.. you get my point.

Imho GT4 could and would be the best game to showoff with the HD stuff but Sony has failed with the HD. There is only 1 game (as far as i know) which uses the HD and that's FFX1371293719. :p

It's a shame. You can do alot with a HD...

It's quite funny when you hear the cars on GT, then hear em in real life. Allmost wet my pants when I heard a skyline (chug chug chug VOOOSHHHHHH)...WHY DOESN'T GT SOUND LIKE THAT!!!! I was driving my parents cars at the time, but could actually feel and hear the skylines engine over mine :(, I felt small. ;)

Easy solution:

1) Go to the control panel and switch of the in game music
2) Switch on your CD player and put in whatever music you want to drive to!

its quite easy, try it

Ridge Racer and Wipeout series are the only racing games where i don't turn the original music off :)

for others i use game engine noises and sound effects with trance coming outta my rig ;)

I don't think I ever have driven with the music on. When I first got GT3 the first thing I did was figure out how to turn all the damn menu sounds and music OFF.

I like to hear the engine sounds. I don't even play GT3 with a radio or other TV on. I need to hear the engine sounds to know when to shift. I find if I can't hear the engine I miss all the shift points and run much slower.

There is an easy way to "play your own music" while playing GT3. Turn off the game music and turn on a radio behind you. Simple solution.

You want your own music during a race?? Don't you have a STEREO?? :dopey:
Put in a Pink Floyd cd and....crank it up 👍 The neighbours will ....love you!! :sly:

Not to get off topic but skylines are such pieces of crap that it isn't even funny. My friend's dad's Boxter S with full exhaust and cold air is so much louder than those damn skylines that show up at Towers ( weekly auto show in South Fl) Hell, my brothers civic with evo exhaust is louder than the skylines. Just saying that you could have picked a better example to show how bad GT3's car sounds are :)

Since when does the volume of an exhaust have any relevance to the quality and / or performance of an automobile?

Hello, NickMp0wer.

Try as you may, I don't think this is going to happen for the PS2. I know I usually rip on the XBOX a lot, but the idea of taking music from something else and save them to your system as about as revolutionary as its hard drive feature (built into the XBOX of course). I don't think it's going to happen for the PS2. However, you can hope to do that with the PS3.

But in the meanwhile, if you have some good music to play to get you in the racing mood, play them from your stereo while you're speedfreaking in GT4. Hope that helped for you, sir.

While I'm at it, welcome to GTPlanet, CooperEclipse! Enjoy your stay.
